Site/Forum Help / Re: *BUG; Unable to change password.
« on: June 21, 2016, 10:07:21 am »
Before you had to use the site login/yellow box and then user details in order to change your ingame password. The information for accounts lays about in more places and so your password info needs to be too, hence it's not always as straight forward as just going on the forum and changing it.

Since the site is being re-worked certain functions might be incapable to go through properly until it all has been sorted, and there's not much that can be done other than waiting it out til Raz has been able to go through most of it, which might be some time.

I do enjoy seeing so many taking use of the new bio field we added already. There's clearly always been the interest for users to share some info about themselves and now we have just have that tiny extra thing there, it makes it a bit more worth to click onto someones profile now compared to before.

Game Help / Re: Minimap Cut Off
« on: June 20, 2016, 12:02:33 am »
Can be fixed by increasing the resolution and making it so the game runs in widescreen instead of a 4:3 box. This is an issue with the game as it's either this when people use square aspect ratios or having the minimap further in towards the center of the screen.

If you want to avoid this, change your resolution to a widescreen aspect ratio in game settings, or a 2nd option find an old copy of the game and copy paste the overlay files into the new game and run the old positioning.

Forum Discussion / Re: Reminiscing
« on: June 19, 2016, 02:57:27 pm »
Taking away the replies of greeting people welcome to the forum and other short replies on game threads I'd say this is one of the first real post I made:

Thing I thought about though, is that some are very protective of what they "come up with" so even if there are several ways to edit a character. It might happen that people would go around accusing someone for being a species they came up with and then refer to the species board as a backup arguement. That others are not being creative enough. Maybe even Tell them to look different?

I know, this accuse part could happen inside the game without a species board anyway. But then it would be words against words atleast.

Maybe it wont happen, but I just don't like the idea right now. Maybe I have something more to it. But arrp.

Regarding the addition of a species board I believe, shortly after we opened the forum for the public. It's very old.

Game Discussion / Re: Future updates?
« on: June 19, 2016, 10:38:12 am »
I think there might be more updates. If there are any updates, I would prefer updates that have to do with markings and items. That way everyone can see the right markings and items on a character, and not see something different than what the character designer made... if that makes sense.

(Informative post)

This doesn't happen and shouldn't happen. The only way it wouldn't show correctly would be if people installed broken mods that were not made correctly for/with the game(the update in particular as a few missing markings has been made and added), or if people install extensive item or marking packs and just expect everyone to see them properly which is quite some naive thinking as it's not within everyone's line of interests nor knowledge to modify things in the game yet.

As for an update that adds even "more" items to wear to the game. If you look closely now all items added works well enough with both the feline and canine model and just not one of them, they're also fairly easy going and not really over the top like cars or assault rifles or big swords. Only really a decently working and more "down to earth" set of items if that's one way to put it. Not only that, but the more things you add, the more packed does the list get in the character creation, and not because it's directly a problem now, there's something else that does have that problem which is markings.

The scrolling for the selection boxes in the game's character selection screen is not the best thing when having an overloaded list of markings as the navigation of these become very slippy. Mass markings pack put up an example of this where just getting to the correct markings is not the most pretty way. Another thing as well is that the markings used now is all A-okay to use for the game and they've been somewhat quality checked, while a marking packs made by community members is not something we can take into use and add to an official game for reasons like those listed above.

My guesses would be that if additions would be made to the markings in the future we'd probably get a few full body sets for both models that are new and unique which really is the way to go, but since I'm not still sure if the most popular marking pack mods are fixed yet to work with this update, we'd most likely have a tiny headache from every future marking mod pack where "we", the staff would be trying to expand the amount and quality of markings for EVERYONE properly with no need to install mods directly to the game, as old marking packs would break compatibility(as there's no way for us to work around community made mods) and users would get upset over something most do not understand.

I do understand that players like their extra markings and options that a massive markings pack provide, but there's always underlying issues that we must take into account and we cannot just slap every marking that users might want into the game for many reasons, some of which listed above. If most users stuck with the game markings we'd not have the marshmallow epidemic that goes around the game that we now see, neither would we have cases of users seeing characters differently and not as intended, whether it's because the marking pack is not made correctly, or the users at hand didn't install it correctly. It truly has become a user made problem, and it has been here for years but has been highlighted as the update has rolled about and forced users to think how this mod works and what it does, not just a copy paste bam done deal.

On a more personal note, I think one of the main problems is honestly that this game has gone way too long without any official updates. This has left users relying a bit too much on certain mods for the game(and I cannot blame them as long as they understand the whole picture). I personally is fully capable of adding marking packs to the game, but I've actively chosen not to do so over the years I've been here. First and foremost I can say that I'm not a character junkie, so my need to pimp out new characters left and right is not my thing if anyone would point that out to me. But I always believed in that something like markings or items are better handled by the game itself if it would get to it, and I wouldn't want to become reliant on something that isn't a part of the game I play. I installed the first item pack that was made for FeralHeart which was the one by Ringo and Delay, but after realizing how broken the system became when people started to jump in between item packs, and I had to have a huge one with "I'm a male" items and "cars" that I found completely nonsense, I gave up on it.

All I can say is that there's not really any good way for staff to dig the game out of the markings and item situation that it opened for the users to create for themselves several years back. The implementation of modified markings and items shouldn't have been using the same listing as the official ones from the get go, but just like many features in the game I do not think it was taken into account how it would possibly work when users actually "use" it. It is a bit of a blessing and a curse at the same time as it will allow us to manage and update certain parts of the game without having any access to the source codes, but it also put us in the place we are.

I hope this opens the eyes a bit to some out there, but also so you guys can explain it to anyone else who might wonder about it. Whatever happens in the future will be for the best interest of the game, and we can just hope that users will grow/become a bit more used to changes again around the game.

Is there a possibility that there will be updates to the models? I would love to see that.

As far as I see it, there will most likely not be any changes done to the models that are used for feline and canine characters so I wouldn't hope for it.

We're happy that you're willing to give these changes a proper chance as many of them were well needed, and we also appreciate that you recognize the work that has gone in to the project and those involved.

We will be looking into more music if possible, and sound mods is still a thing that hopefully most users can take advantage of. Now we know where the music comes from and their sources which is not something we could say with the old ones, so music change has been done for organization and staying out of trouble which should be understandable.

Game Help / Re: Issues with the new GUI
« on: June 13, 2016, 09:51:37 pm »
This is something that is corrected by a clean install, as some experience this usually from just installing the update directly onto an already existing game.

There's probably something somewhere that doesn't get overwritten by the installer that makes it so the material provided behind certain boxes in the game doesn't show, but that's my guess.

Not really gotten any information about where this might originate from however just yet. But a clean install should do it for most. If you run the installer and install a copy of the game someplace else on your computer without adding any modifications it should show up as normal.

Will nudge Raz about this.

You will need to keep the page closed for 60 seconds in order to be logged out, but a logout button surely would help.

Forum Suggestions & Ideas / Re: Login Page News Log
« on: June 13, 2016, 04:51:17 pm »
The login itself is not really new as it has been here for half a year or there abouts ever since we got "hacked".

We've had the news section and information posts about it posted on here, DA and tumblr, but sadly it has not been enough to reach out to all users and we probably lost a lot of players from it.

It is not possible to add popup boxes in the game as it requires the source code, the only thing we could do would be to add some text in the bulletin board next to the login screen in the game. Currently we have some patch notes there. Sadly it was overlooked to add in text about the login page as it wasn't exactly news and already been that way for months upon months, it's just that old players from before what took place might not know about it, and just dive in being confused.

People don't like to read very much.. which is a bit amusing as this game has a lot of reading in it xD

But to answer, not really possible, and we will most likely not repack the installer and make new downloads for a quick change in a text file for "old news". We might try to add it later if we'd have more reasons to repack the installer.

Thanks for the suggestion though.
