Game Discussion / Re: Why FeralHeart Could Be So Buggy

Sorry but, 50 people aint enough to 'overload' a server. Not even 100.
At most it will lag until it locks up due to lack of resources to handle the traffic.
But a simple reboot can fix that latter.

From how I interperet it, it means there'll be some sort of algorithm that will be so many blocks for specific acrions you did or say will eventual lead to a ban, after so many times, but the question remains if the ban will be perm or it'll be a temp.

Let's just assume for a moment that a halfway decent algorithm is put into place where an automated system is put into place and is able to differentiate the "block" as legit or falsified. That's great, perhaps a self moderation system will actually work in that case. But i still have a few concerns as followed:

- Your question: Temp or perm?
- For those times when the algorithm fails and falsly bans someone, how is Raz going to handle the appeals? He's clearly not known for his communication.
- What about the forum? Nothing in moderation has been announced for the forum.
- Further more, what is the community decides that swearing is OK, even though in the rules, it's not. No one will block for profanity, How will Raz address that?

Before you have even implemented this change, people are already leaving in protest and in fear of suffering at the hands of this injustice.

I would like to add onto this, there has been a rumor going around with some people that this post / news has reached some people whom despise FH, and are waiting for it to be implemented as it will be easily taken advantage of.

Dont hold me to it, idk if it’s actually true.
It’s just some things i heard.

BOYCOTT FH - OCTOBER

Seems like a better idea than risking myself by going online to getting targetted by spam blockers.
If you wanna know how i feel about this idea, just refer to the many posts already made, its horrible.

Bad for the staff - member relationship
Bad for the staff - staff relationship
Easily abused
Bad for Feral Hearts reputation.

I wont be coming online FH in october due to this.

Amazing map you have here! I love the "middle-of-no-where" feel you added to the map. It looks lovely. You should be proud :3
Thank you! i am quite proud of it because it is one of the first maps that i have actually gotten around to finishing after starting #BeingLazy

I have about 3 other unfinished maps that would be super cool too, no motivation though.

Took me two days to make this but finally i was able to pull it off.

WARNING: there is a lot of things going on in this map and if you don't have a good computer, this map WILL lag.

This is a small village situated in the middle of two hills, and at the top of one hill is a den for wolves. The situation is that there isn't much food in the mountains due tot he constant snow, so the most reliable source of food is from raiding the nearby village dumpsters and trash cans. But be careful, this village has plenty of ammo and guns! choose your rains wisely.

I have chosen to make this map open and public to any role play.

Game Help / Re: Repetitive Crashing
« on: July 20, 2014, 01:24:15 am »
I will give that a shot, though i wont have results for a few hours to one day since the crashing isn't every few minutes. I'll let ya know if it appears to be any better.

Thanks for the response :)

Game Help / Repetitive Crashing
« on: July 19, 2014, 11:26:10 pm »
Hello, i need a little insight to this issue that i am having.
My Feral Heart game seems to be crashing every 2-3 hours, but only once every 2-3 hours.

It seems to be common for it to do this when my computer is wirelessly connected to the internet, as my game does not crash when connected via Ethernet. Don't conclude that something is wrong with my wireless router, because i have checked it inside and out, and it is properly functioning.

I did check the windows logs however, and every time the game crashes, it leaves behind this:

Source: Application Error
Event ID: 1000
General
Faulting application name: FeralHeart.exe, version: 0.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x4efb3f02
Faulting module name: OgreMain.dll, version: 0.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x4cd6db88

Faulting process id: 0x1104
Faulting application start time: 0x01cfa0ab0b6be590
Faulting application path: C:\FeralHeart\FeralHeart.exe
Faulting module path: C:\FeralHeart\OgreMain.dll

   C:\FeralHeart\OgreMain.dll

Any thoughts? It's not entirely that big of a deal but it does get annoying every now and then when Feral Heart crashes repetitively like this.

Thanks!

Game Discussion / Re: Greatest FH memory?
« on: March 24, 2014, 08:43:45 pm »
My greatest memory of FH is back in the good old days before it was cluttered with all the drama/mate beggars. Now a days, you can't go anywhere in FH without finding one of the two, if not both.
