The Lions of Altumbria | Looking for Lightlanders and Hyenas!

Current Plot: King Usiku and Arowen are now mates and she is the new Nightlander queen.  Mwanga is furious to see such happiness in the NL Pride even in these times of hardship. The battle is drawing near and Mwanga and Zagaa are preparing their attack plan.

 3/9/13--Mwanga is suspicious of the mystery far away pride that the Lightlanders are sending food to so Zagaa decides to pay them a visit. Mwanga is left in charge while he is gone. The Nightlanders send Chakula to follow him and keep him away as long as possible. Meanwhile the Nightlanders are in trouble because LL hunting territories are being guarded now and the pride cant get any food. What will they do to survive?



 
Who are the Altumbrian Prides?

During the later years of the reign of Kovu and Kiara, a great earthquake hit the pridelands. The land was ruined and the prides hadn't seen such misery since Scar ruled long ago.
Queen Kiara had passed away in the disaster and Kovu was very old. Unfortunately their son Angani had his heart set on never becoming king and left the pridelands to become a rouge and live a carefree lifestyle. The only living member of the royal family that was young enough to take the throne was Mwanga. She was the daughter of Vitani and Kopa.
Mwanga, who was not evil, but had the same spitefulness as her grandmother Zira, was more than willing to take the throne and do things her way. She knew that in this time of trouble the Pridelanders would be easy to persuade to do what she said in order to have hope of survival.
The Pridelands were destroyed in the earthquake so she moved the pride to a new land called Altumbria.
Mwanga decided to rename the Pridelanders to the Lightlanders after herself. The pride now lives at LightMountain where there is a large, bright, shining crystal. The pride is better off now, but Mwanga only truly cares about herself and has brainwashed the pride into thinking they owe their lives to her...........


Meanwhile Angani is living his so-called dream as a rouge. There is barely any food, except for on the Lightlanders territory which he avoids at all costs. He can't stand Mwanga, but realizes he lost his chance at being king and can't do anything. He discovers a secret cavern in the outermost limits of Altumbria. The secret cavern is filled with jewels and gems. He keeps it secret from all except for his family. Angani's mate is named Malaika. He met her in another pride far away and she decided to go on his journeys with him. The two went to hide in the caverns during a thunderstorm.

There they encounter a pack of hyenas. Though they are extremely outnumbered. Angani tries to fight back. He tells Malaika to take their young cub Usiku and escape. With tears in her eyes she runs off to avoid watching Angani's brutal death. She runs away and drops Usiku off outside a den at Light Mountain in hopes that some one can find it in their hearts to take him in. Poor Malaika runs off in search of food because she is also pregnant with another cub.

?Little Usiku is welcomed in to the Lightlanders pride by all except Mwanga, who realizes that he is Angani's son and the rightful heir. She comes up with a plan to turn everyone against him. Despite her plan, Usiku and Zagaa become close friends along with Miura, another female cub. The three are inseperable, and spend lots of time playing together.

Usiku also spent a lot of time with his grandfather Kovu. He always loved hearing Kovu's stories of living at Pride Rock.

One day teenage Usiku is left to babysit a lionesses newborn cubs. Mwanga approaches him and makes up the story that Kovu is very sick and that Usiku should go see him before it's too late. Usiku wants to go, but Mwanga assures him that she will keep an eye on the cubs while hes is gone. But she simply walks away leaving the cubs alone. One little cub, happens to wander too far and falls breaking his paw. Usiku returns to confront Mwanga about her false story, when he discovers the injured cub. Miura is walking by and gets her to stay with the cubs while he goes for help. When he finds the cubs' mother she is talking with Mwanga. After telling her about the injured cub, Mwanga interrupts and says that Usiku was nowhere around when she walked by the den where the cubs were. The mother is angry, but runs off to help her cub. Everyone quickly turns against Usiku calling him irresponsible and careless. Miura is the only one who knows the truth, but no one believes her or Usiku, not even Zagaa.

Mwanga's plan had worked and Usiku was being banished from the Lightlands for something he didn't  do. He feels bad for the cub but there is nothing he could do or say that would change the prides mind. He left feeling horrible, but wanted to prove to himself that he truly was responsible. He ventured to the other side of the river which was filled with caves and rocky outcrops. He decided this would be his new home. Usiku started his own pride by taking in all the rouges he could find and giving them shelter in the caves. He needed to feed the pride whom he called the Nightlanders, so he went to the secret caverns where his father had been killed and gathered some jewels. He secretly took them to Miura and she gave them to Mwanga telling her a far away pride is  wanting to trade for food because they are starving. Being greedy for "shiny things" Mwanga agrees.

This continues  for many years and the Nightlanders grow stronger every day. One day the Hyenas return while Usiku is visiting the secret caverns. He bargains with them saying if they guard the caverns he will bring them food as well. They agree and live on the island near the caverns.

Usiku goes after food again and this time Zagaa (who has a crush on Miura) spots  Miura and him making their exchange. He runs in and attacks Usiku thinking he is there to cause trouble. Usiku end up all scared up and bloody. He turns his back for a second and Zagaa goes in for the kill. Kovu jumps in to save Usiku but is killed by Zagaa's powerful attack. The three stand over Kovu's lifeless body. Usiku is heartbroken and lies next to Kovu crying. He was his last family member and now he was gone. Zagaa walked away feeling really guilty but was later praised by his mother. Usiku laid there so long that Kovu's blood stained his mane red. Miura had to drag him away from the body and  walked with him back to the other side of the river. They have a meaningful talk and both develop feelings for each other, though Miura feels like she is pressured to be with Zagaa. She decides not to let this hold her back from her true feelings and her and Usiku continue to meet up for the exchanges.But eventually she gives up hope on being with Usiku.
Zagaa is the next in line as king. He is very handsome and prideful, but a better ruler than his mother. The other lionesses don't seem to mind doing as he says. When Zagaa became king, Mwanga couldn't seem to let her position go, so she still hangs around and give orders. Everyone listens to her as well, mostly out of fear she will go into a raging fit. She also decides to banish her little brother Haraka, who knows her family secret. Haraka had always been kept away from home as much as possible to keep the secret from getting out. The others started getting suspicious when he was never around for his mate and their 3 new cubs. Haraka decided that he would move his family to stay in the Nightlander territory, where at least they could be free and have a home. Usiku was more than happy to accept family into his pride. The two talked and revealed many secrets about the past and about the future that was to come.

1. Lightlanders are more lighter shades and natural/realistic colors?? and generally more healthy and strong.

2. Most Nightlanders are grey, white, dark brown, or black but can also be normal colored?.

     Hyenas...Just look legit

3. Lightlanders must put LL after their character name, and  Nightlanders must put NL after their character name and Hyenas put HA.? We are all in one group, and this is to keep up with everyone easier.

4. Jewelry and other accessories are encouraged.... but no horns or antlers

5. We prefer if your character name isn't an original Lion King character name already.

6. Do not create more characters than you can handle. We realize that some characters may die or go missing and you want to continue RPing. But if you make another character try to use them more than once.

Personality: She was hoped to follow along in the hyena's footsteps, and was told to kill the lions. Hadhi was hesitant, and wants to be one with the lions. Hadhi is nice but is quick to attack if anyone were to harm her parents or any other hyenas. She is shy at times, and as she grows older is hating on the lions more and more.
