Little Sun looked over in the distance. She saw a golden and black thing in a tree. It was far, but it might be a cheetah, judging by the chest and tail. She snorted, "Now what is a cheetah doing in a tr-" Little Sun stopped, seeing a dark gold and black mane in the grass below the tree. She headed back to her small territory, which was tiny compared to the lion's territory. But Little Sun couldn't help it. There were many other cheetahs, some more powerful than her. Then there were the powerhungry lions. She had decreased her territory until it was only 3 square miles. She sighed, and walked up an tree, which was sloped, and allowed her to climb (Sort of like the tree in Huskies-Eat-Ponies' pic). She lay on one end, watching the cheetah in the tree leap over the lion and dash away.
She then started to groom her own spotted pelt, until she heard a snarl behind her. She whipped around, her fur fluffed up. A lone lion was standing there, his mane shaggy and his ribs so visible you can count them. He growled, "Hand over the territory and I will not kill you!" Little Sun stood up on her small branch and stood tall, making her seem taller than lion, "You will have to get me first." The lion fell for the trap, and leapt at her. Little Sun turned and leapt off the other end, and ran around the tree twice before dashing about 60 feet away, then stopping. The lion, enraged by her move, ran at her, his teeth bared. Before he caught her Little Sun ran past him and behind him, attempting to bite his tail, hard. The lion roared in pain and attempted to rake his claws down her flank. She yipped in pain, and scuffed dust and dirt in his eyes. The lion winced and pawed his eyes for a good 30 seconds. By then Little Sun was back in her tipped over tree. The lion, done wiping his eyes, charged at her. Little Sun knew she couldn't keep running around him. The lion leapt...
The lion collided into Little Sun, and attempted to bite her neck. But Little Sun moved her head out of the way. She bit his front paws, biting each paw until he backed up enough that she had room to run. Then she ran in, the Lion was surprised at her sudden bravery. Little Sun had no claws, just nails. But anyway she raked them down the lion's eyes. He roared in pain, and ran off. Little Sun sighed, knowing it was pure luck that she could defeat a weak lion.
