MediaFire uploaded file - Copyrighted?
« on: April 27, 2013, 11:30:52 pm »
I have had the map file in there for a while and haven't had that problem at first.. Now I noticed there's suddenly a copyright sign and it denies public download unless using a one-time download code which did not work for one user who tried downloading half an hour ago. One-time code worked in the end XD
How can I remove the copyrightness so people can download freely without requesting one-time codes?
Is it maybe cause I got a free account with Mediafire?

Try using Sendspace. It's free and easy to use, plus you get better results. I doubt copyright notices will be assigned there.

It really all depends on what you uploaded, if it is considered copyright it may be a liability to the website broadcasting it. I don't really suggest sendspace since there is a file size limit. You can't go over a certain file size when uploading on them. You can possibly try to upload to Mediafire one more time and if that doesn't work then try to put your file embedded in your DeviantART. you are able to upload zip files there, and can be easily downloaded when you click the button
Good luck though

Thanks both of you :)

Buffeh, Thanks I'll give that site a try when i get home again.
Feareh, it's about 15mb size rar file. Doubt that will reach any limits and i haven't even had the time yet to finish my second map which is a big WIP. I have actually been wanting to get a DA account, but only once i start drawing on pc XD.
Oh and i did re-upload on MF and still came out copyrighted.

Before I believe sendspace had a limit of 200MB in each file you uploaded, well enough for a map.

Been using sendspace for quite some while, and when it comes to just uploading a file and sharing it with others. I'd prefer it over mediafire. The plus with mediafire is that you have your library and can organize your uploads, but for just general download links shared, Sendspace is great.
