FeralHeart has an incredible community both in the game and on the forums, honestly. I'm so glad that we have such a wonderful community and staff that really cares about its members and what goes on with the game. I very much so hope that this one poor choice doesn't tear us apart, and that hopefully we can grow stronger together. Please, just don't lose hope! <3

Presets & Markings / Finally made myself a preset!
« on: September 19, 2018, 08:33:26 pm »So I finally got around to making a preset of my fursona, Nephrite!
She's supposed to be a munchkin cat, which isn't exactly possible to make with FH's models, so she roams in this world as a regular cat lol.
Fun fact: The spots on her body are constellations! They are supposed to resemble Pisces, Virgo, and Sagittarius, which are my sun, rising, and moon signs respectively c:
You may find me in game wearing accessories or not, just depends on how I'm feeling at the time! I like this scarf–it matches my avatar on the forums! :0
I might tweak the preset a bit, because I'm already starting to see little things that need to be fixed.. oops

This is actually a very interesting topic! I actually wouldn't have guessed that the FH online activity had grown as much as it had from 2014 and onwards. The fact that since 2016 ish we've had to log in on the website in order to play in game might have also had some impact with the increase in numbers.
I think one of the most major factors (in game anyways) is that a lot of the FH population has matured, firstly. A lot of us have been playing since before 2014 at least, so a lot of FHs community has grown up, either grown out of playing FH as much as they used to, or simply don't have time to be as active and social in game.
Secondly, a lot of groups have turned to talking and roleplaying in private rather than in public. So many roleplay groups are mapped nowadays; there's hardly anyone in the official maps created, except for TG and perhaps CV, which really does make the game seem a bit desolate at times, even if you're sitting right next the the Lonely Cave portal in TG.
Though it's really assuring to see the data presented this way! I don't really think FH is truly dying—it may be at a standstill but we do have so many members who really do enjoy the game and wouldn't let it die out. I think it's more or less of a demographic shift that has caused the game to feel a bit more desolate.

I'd love to see updates come to FeralHeart, although I do agree that I don't want to see it get a complete makeover! I've also thought about why the game couldn't just be "cloned", essentially, so that we can still continue to get updates. I'd love to see certain bugs fixed, or new models added, like an equine or bird model of some sort. I feel like it's a whole lot easier said than done, and if it were a simple matter then it might have already been done.
I also didn't know the things that Lucius mentioned, so I'm sure that the way that KovuLKD has responded to the FHR project has factored into it somehow. I'm not sure why they wouldn't share the source code if they have no intentions of ever updating the game–but who knows what could happen someday. :0 I'd love to see something a bit new with FH, but still retaining the same nostalgia that we all love.
