Game Discussion / Re: Discord-Only Vs. FH Roleplays
« on: November 12, 2018, 01:09:49 am »

Everything you bring up here is so true!
As a longtime member of this Feral Heart community I've always been wondering why roleplaying in the game has come to a slowdown... or almost vanished completely. I remember when I first joined there was roleplaying EVERYWHERE in the game. The chats were always busy with people having casual conversation, roleplay, and other fun talk. Nowadays, it's pretty dead. I just couldn't understand why people weren't as active with roleplays as it used to be. Some say they prefer to roleplay in group chat or party chat rather than local to keep their roleplay private. Some say they take their FH roleplays to Discord. I asked why. Here's what some would say:

"Discord helps keep the group organized and updated in special events."
"If Feral Heart isn't working for one of our members, we take the roleplay to Discord."
"Discord is better for us to keep in touch."
"We do our roleplays in Discord because our roleplay has some dirty stuff in it. We don't want people snitching on us and have the mods snooping in our business."

That last one was a true "reason" given as to why they don't roleplay in Feral Heart. I can't make this up.
That's fine and dandy, but if it's just a Discord Only roleplay then why come on to Feral Heart? If you're not going to use Feral Heart to roleplay on then why bother at all? I just don't understand people sometimes.
I joined Feral Heart for the sake of not only roleplaying but having fun with character creations, having your characters run around different worlds and biomes, using the maps as settings, using the actions and emotes to help your character tell the stories. It's nice to have some visuals when roleplaying.

I honestly have nothing against Discord. In fact, I use it to keep in touch with friends where we can chat while playing different Steam games. I too use it for roleplaying, but they aren't Feral Heart roleplays. More like Dungeons and Dragons sort of roleplays.

In the end, I can't tell people what to do with their roleplay groups. If people want to have their Discord Only roleplays, who am I to tell them they can't or shouldn't? I wish people would enjoy Feral Heart a little more to use it for their roleplays instead of turning to Discord as the soul roleplay platform.

My favorite feline is the bobcat, a small feline of the lynx family. I have many bobcat characters in this game.

Thank you Raz for the update!

First, welcome back Shally, Lord Sura, Nynx, Kynvuu, Kiki, and Morgra to the staff team.

Second, this is a day we've all been waiting for, and I'm happy to finally show all the hard work we've done for this Feral Heart patch. It was an honor to work with you guys to make this possible. Thank you.

What have I done for this patch? I've put together a snowy winter wonderland that we call Kibou Ridge. This map sets over Cherika Valley and has some prehistoric findings scattered around. The map has many hidden dens and caves, frozen tree lines, snowy meadows, snow capped mountains, and hidden treasures. Did I mention it has lots of snow?

LaughingWolf helped me with the terrain masking, new ground textures, object textures, and ideas. The staff also helped with textures, and ideas that went along into Kibou Ridge. The user who made the beautiful Aurora lights, swimming fish, and all the other new critters is CoralStar https://www.deviantart.com/coralstar51199.  We worked together to make Kibou Ridge a success.

I won't give too many more details, for it's up to the players to go out and explore the changes that were made. I hope the FH community enjoys what we've made.

Thank you Raz and Lord Sura for the update and explanations.
There's always more than one side to a story, even if we all don't see it. After reading through both the explanations I can see where you're both coming from. Life happens and it's usually out of our control (that's something most kids on this game need to learn). We're all half a world away, and the time zones don't work in our favor. We've all been working hard both in the game patch and in reality. Sometimes it all can be too much on our plate to the point we start making hasty decisions.

This is why communication and comprehension is important, especially in a group project. If there's no good communication, or cooperation, where is it going to get us? Nowhere. As I've always been told "communication is key".

I hope we can all take this as a learning experience and learn from the mistakes that we made to move forward. I still have hope for this game/community, and I want to see it succeed and move on.

I honestly just wanted this game to die. The forum community is okay, but the in game community as a whole has been withering and withering and withering. Perhaps I'm too cynical but I simply don't like any of the turns this game has taken. Some will have fun but I most certainly won't.

Keep trying, I suppose, and good luck to those who still think this game deserves a chance. Maybe it does but I'm done giving it any.

EDIT: Just found out the main person who ruined this game for me is becoming a moderator. Crash and burn.

I'm sorry you feel this way about the game. Maybe you just need a little break from the game. Sometimes a nice break can be good for someone (it's kind of what I've been doing by playing some other games.)

Just curious though, you say a certain someone has ruined the game for you? If you could, would you ever consider talking to them to make things better? I don't know the situation that's made you have hard feelings for them, but maybe it was a misunderstanding... I don't know. Maybe you two could talk and make amends to release the tension?
It's just a thought. Hopefully things get better.

Leaving / Re: We love you!
« on: September 25, 2018, 08:12:14 pm »
Reading all these goodbye letters tears me up inside. I truly feel heartbroken and wish it would not end this way.

I've been a member of this community since April Fools Day of 2012. Being a member of this FH community has brought me so many wonderful memories. I've made many friends, developed characters and stories, shared ideas, and watched the community grow. I've known some of you guys since 2012 way  before you took a staff position on this game. I will cherish the memories of when we would just sit around on a map and talk about stuff; life, games, school, families, holidays, hobbies, interests, etc. Yall had my support when you took on the moderator roles and I felt like yall put forth your best effort to make this community better. I felt honored when I was asked to help with the patch. You guys gave me so much inspiration when I was designing the snow map, giving me fair feedback on what needed improved and changed to make it better. There were some rough bumps along the way, but in the end I was glad to work with you guys.

I'm so sorry it has to end like this. I wish there was something I could do to make this all better, but I feel like there is nothing I can do. I feel helpless here. You guys do not deserve this, neither does the Feral Heart community. I have so many questions going through my head right now regarding Feral Heart.

Where do we go from here?
What will the future of this game be?

These questions may go unanswered, but I guess we'll just have to see what happens.

I hope we can still keep in touch with one another, even if it's not here in Feral Heart. I wish you all the best of luck, where ever life takes you. It's been a pleasure and an honor working with you guys <3

Yours truly, love and kisses from

Game Discussion / Do Politics Belong in Feral Heart?
« on: September 13, 2018, 02:05:46 am »
This is NOT a discussion on what your political views are, but more of a discussion of if you think political talk is appropriate in the game.
The Grounds is probably the most social map in the game right now, and many conversations have come up here and there. Sometimes there are discussions of politics; some are civil, and some end up hostile. Some people bring these discussions up to start trouble, others just look for casual talk.

Whether the talk is good or bad, right or wrong, does it have a place in the Feral Heart community? My personal opinion: I come to Feral Heart to escape that kind of stuff for a bit, but it just has a way of popping into the game. I don't think it's necessary to bring up such topics because it could end up with players getting hostile with one another, causing some unnecessary drama. I'm not saying people shouldn't, but I don't get myself involved.

Do you think politics belong in Feral Heart? Why, or why not?
