Claws on a preset...Help?

Hello, tis me ole' Shazzy again, and I have another preset question. This time, the question pertains not just to presets, but to the claws mesh made for felines too. See, I've seen presets on dA where the claws are differently colored from the mane, unlike when on a normal char the claws take the color of the mane itself, and I want to know how to make the claws a different color from the mane on a preset. I have already figured out on my own how to do this on the canine model, but knowing how to do it for the feline model would prove helpful. So please, if anyone has an explanation, please post it!

Right, I have the lines, and I know how to color the claws on the canine model. But as for the feline, how would I color it, code it (if any), and save it as?

Maybe I'm misunderstanding your questions but:

Do the same for the feline as you did the canine.

The only difference is making a preset for the feline versus the canine is the UV map (or template) you use so that you know where to place things.

So color the UV above and then use the tail mat to add it in. Its just adding color to the tail's texture that will be seen on the claws.

Not sure I follow...To me the canine model is easier when it comes to claws because all I did was add color to that one area where it shows the claws are located (the bottom), and in the game I got what I wanted, the feline model however when trying to do the same procedure...Well, its more or less easier said than done. I put the code into the preset folder's notepad document, and applied the same technique to the tail image like I had done for the canine preset, but nothing changed. The second image of UV lines are more complicated for me to read and know where to color versus where to not, though maybe providing a colored example might help point me in the right direction, otherwise...You've lost me

The second UV above shows you where to color, within that red box.
Then it should work ingame if you apply that tex and choose a mane that applies claws.

Can someone make it? If they can do it for the tails, I'd be so happy, because the Feline claws aren't on all the manes on the Claws pack.

Thanks you guys, after all the trouble of getting myself caught in a tight circle with this whole thing I finally understood and figured it out, now the preset I was making for a friend is finally finished and better yet I found a way to make it look as if one of the claws is missing. At first the code gave me trouble because, even though it did color the claws, it gave the mane its glitchy see-through look. However I fixed the code up a bit and therefore fixed the mane, all whilst the claws remain colored. I appreciate all the help, thank you
