Hello! I'm yanderecat, or as some know me as Chickeon. Recently, I've undertook the massive task of rebooting a roleplay that I never got off the ground. This is the map update thread for it. I've been working three days on it as of writing, in one to two hour spurts.

I think the first thing you should know about me is that when I take on a project, you bet I'm going to go ham on it if I want it to succeed. Maybe a bit too ham, since the map is laggy af. But rest assured! I will be making multiple, roleplay-friendly versions of the map once its finished.

Since I had already made a map prior to the rebooting, I had to make some decisions, as everyone who reboots does. And so, I decided to get rid of every single plant that didn't make up a landmark or camp. Came out odd, but I liked the result. I picked off little pieces at first. I worked on one of the camps, the few outdoor ones. It looks like this:

I think its beautiful. It's really what I wanted out of this. It looks less like a bunch of trees and a camp and more like a forest with a camp in it. I personally think the mushrooms on the logs were a nice touch of mine.

For now, I've taken on the most tedious of the tasks: making the rivers more lively. By lively, I mean plants. Plants everywhere. Plants all around the place. So. Much. PLANT. I chose three plants for the river, and have finished one layer (coating?) of them and have just started the process of adding in another.


It looks worse from so high up, but I wanted to show you the size of this thing and how many of this one plant I placed. My dinky laptop only has trouble when I'm facing the camp above, but in-game, it lags little.

Four Descendant Clans (Closed)
The Tribe of the Sun, or the Kurr-Kirrno in the cat's tongue, used to span the entire canyon, encompassing the rivers, the forests, and the caves. It has been said that they once had one hundred members, many lost to the sands of time. It has been decades since the Xohihi, or the Time of No Prey. That was the catalyst for their downfall. The sudden drop in winter temperatures killed much of their prey, turning the once noble cats of the Kurr-Kirrno into crazed, cannibalistic savages. By the time the winter had ended, only two divided groups of cats lived in the canyon. One group had fled into the city, while another left the canyon entirely.

Through years of isolation, the new groups have transformed into corrupted versions of the Kurr-Kirrno. NightClan insists they are the true heirs to the canyon, living in the main camp of the tribe and carrying on their stories. CrystalClan also vies for dominance, saying the gods have chosen them to lead. StormClan, having returned to their historic home, says since they are the strongest clan, they have the right to rule. VineClan, always the odd one out, is content in their abandoned house, apathetic to the power struggles but concerned for the cats in these clans.

But who is the true successor to the Kurr-Kirrno? Does the question matter when the genocide of brothers and sisters is on the line?


What Are We? We Are....
...discorded. Our discord is the main hub of information and downloads.
...mapped. FDC's map is expansive, displaying both a natural and man-made world.
...traditionally named. All except VineClan follow a certain suffix system and all the clans (minus VineClan) follow a premade set of prefixes.
...literate. We require a roleplay sample.
...realistic. We do not accept colours or patterns that cannot happen. Special patterns require clearance by a mod or admin.
...worldbuilt. FDC's clans are different, from their names to their cultures. These clans aren't the cookie-cutter clans from the Warriors books, but are distinct and special.
...open for staff and high ranks. High ranks are different for each clan, but we are open for applications for any of the open spots.

Oh my god I feel so dumb. My brain couldn't see that the picture was 153 and not 513. I made the image with the right specifications and it worked. I feel so stupid for not seeing it!

I'll never let myself live this down hahaha.

Edit: made a simple test map, that crashed it too.

I am getting very frustrated with this. I have done the following:

removed alpha channel
flattened image
made image 513x513
made image 512x512
grayscale
16-bit and 8-bit
reinstalled FeralHeart (both from the site and from my personal backup)
checked the particle folder
changed rendering option
png to jpg to png
made the map width smaller (to 513)
use GIMP

My computer is fully capable of rendering complex maps. I can play on custom maps that contain multiple maps with no problei on of the game doesn't matter; it just crashes whenever I import it.

What in the world is the issue, considering I've done everything I've found on guides and things I thought would work? I can provide images if needed.

Presets & Markings / Flame Doggo Alpha

This is Alpha's preset. Her flames even glow, which is something I didn't think I could code, but I did. You'll see me on FH with her a ton, since she's the only character I use haha. Thoughts/critique?

Should I do preset commissions? I think that would be fun, but I'm so busy so idk.
