Species / Sekhmet's Wolves

"Under the forsaken sun my children rise"

What was once buried in the sands long ago has awakened. The wolves of Sekhmet are here.
They are a prideful species, even those who are bound
in servitude would turn their nose up at any other who
simply aren't their own.

These wolves have lean and slender frames, short fur and long pointed ears often adorned
with gold. Their faces are very rounded, slim cheeks and slightly longer snouts with the bridge of
their nose sloped high. Their fur can be a wide range of sandy tones, from reddish to golden, pale yellow.
The amount of ornaments on one wolf will say much about his status in society. Wolves who
bare none are hunters or scavengers for the higher families.

The largest society currently known for the Sekhmet Wolves is the Sun Empire, (see group ad boards wip)
they are very particular about their customs. Very conservative and traditional
values among the higher-ups will often clash with a few lower class groups that
attempt feebly to rebel against the cruel ways of the Sun Empire.

The Sun Empire is notorious in its strength, despite the obscene and cruel punishments to
its own citizens. They breed obedience and determination in their soldiers who will hunt down
rebellions and dispose of them. The outcry is hardly heard because of this.

Names are also important in regards to social status. Conservative families will bear more
traditional names, whereas separatist groups will abandon such names in place for tribal
rooted ones. Such as 'Twin-Bird' instead of 'Hal Zanzabar'. Below will be a list of names
showing the most common traditional names, usually fathers will pass down their name
to their sons.

If a separatist wolf, born outside of the Sun Empire wishes to join back, the only way is
if he is young and an adult is willing to adopt him. The adult will give him a traditional name
and he will be able to grow up as part of the higher society. Adult separatists are not trusted
or allowed in the Empire, unless they intend to work as a slave and live on the outskirts.

Separatist Names

Sand-Dancer
Ibis-Walker
Yellow-Tail
Cobra-Fang
Blue-Hawk

Separatists will take on more descriptive names that they feel
will reconnect them with the gods after life, since The Empire
believes scorning them will result in being sent to the underworld;
the rebellion continues to believe they are better ways to please
the gods without sacrifices.

Warrior Cats
The Tangled Thorns

StarClans lights have failed to show for moons after moons, the sky shrouded
in overcast. After the event, not even the sun has been able to shine through the thick clouds above.
A band of traitors are among the clans, it has been six generations since the clans first
called the Lake their home and these cats have begun their vile plot. The trees
are losing their own battle, and soon the prey will leave when no more food is available.
Thorns, blackberry bushes are beginning to weaken the forest as well, and cats with longer pelts are getting
themselves caught in them chasing what little birds are left. Bones of cats lay in the thickness of the weeds.
When the forest starts to eat cats like this, you know that it is time to move on. Some do not wish to leave,
while others are begging the ones they love to come with them. To find the tribe, for they know
how to live in a hard place with little trees to begin with. The stubborn ones, the old and sick, and the traitors are
all among the cats who wish to stay. The healthy, the starving, the strong-willed and
wise are among the cats who are wanting to leave. Some won't go without their stubborn companions,
some have already left.

You are free to join in and role-play as you please without asking, this role-play is also a bit of a game.
introduce your character first, is your character old, sick, dying or simply stubborn? Or is your
character deceitful? One of the followers of the Dark Forest? One of the cats forcing the others to stay
to see them die and turn on each other over dwindling prey? Or is your character a leader? Wise? Strong-willed
and wishing to see the clans continue for generations more?

Game Discussion / Role-Play on Public Maps and Group Interactions

Bootiful image by Mojave <3

So this is a topic I've been wanting to make for a while.

From my experience thus far, while I'm sure we all understand that yes you can decline a request to RP if you obviously don't want to, no one can force you to RP, but when it comes to people as individuals under groups. It has come time and time again people are not allowed and not willing to RP with other groups or outside characters if they don't have a superior around, while if that is an official rule about your group no one can change that obviously but when you start restricting people as individuals that's where I kind of disagree regardless if you want a superior there or not.

Now we seem to have grown as a society that hates drama, and now some instances when people simply disagree it is scolded upon to disagree because it's just "drama".

When did the drama leave role-play? Some of us role-play for the drama, and a lot of us came from a background in which conflict experienced in role-play taught us and continues to teach us how to deal with real life situations. I feel like there is a disconnection with that now, a disconnection of striving for being something you're not to experience what it's like. Instead now everyone is too afraid because they'll be accused of "starting drama". I don't think that's fair, and I'm someone who would like to change the negative context in which "conflict" happens, because when you're with a good group of people you can have healthy conflict, and if you yourself don't want to be a part of it opt out.

I see it as an important part of learning, and I don't think it's entirely fair to exclude your individual members from having their own role-play with others just because you yourself don't want to be a part of it while others do. I even had met one leader who was excited to role-play a conflict with my group, but she ended up ultimately disbanding the group because her members did not want to deal with conflict.

Essentially I am making this discussion because I want to hear other people's opinions, and that hopefully maybe we can be more positive about conflict in role-play instead of dreading and blaming people for "drama". Maybe it would lead to a healthier community as a whole.
