3D preset drawing help.
« on: March 24, 2017, 08:22:46 am »
So first things first I am very sorry if this thread is in the wrong place I looked around but couldn't find a preset help board.

I have recently found out presets can be made as a 3D model in substance painter which I think is the most helpful thing. Although I can get the mesh in (the model of the canine) I can't seem to add the fur texture or should I say to get it them show up on the canine. I also need to know how to 'fix' the pieces together (so that you can see the whole mesh together not as just pieces while you are coloring). I am finding it very aggravating as I stayed up for quite a bit last night waiting for it to download.

I also couldn't find these answers in help or their forums.

I found a site where it is shown how to zoom the camera in/out, so I'm hoping that can be a bit of a solution for you not be able to see the entire mesh. (https://support.allegorithmic.com/documentation/display/SPDOC/Shortcuts)

I also found this video, which explains what I'm hoping is how to import existing textures. These should be found in Feralheart > media > textures > masks.

Always do the right thing, even if no one is watching.

Looks like Edo got ya some links that provided ya some help ^^ I'd glad. I've been looking into getting Substance Painter myself or learning some Blender to do my presets like this.

This isn't really offering a tutorial of any kind, but I thought i'd link you to this thread >here<

There's a Youtube video linked in the topic and I thought it might be useful for you to see an actual painting of a FeralHeart preset. You may have already seen this beings as you said you stayed up a long time :P

Good luck with your preset making!
