Hey guys! I made two more presets, and I'd like to show you them.

First, off, Balence.

I always loved the idea of balance. For every action, there must be an equal and opposite reaction. Every light source must have shadows. On one half of the world it is sunrise, while on the other it is sunset. So on and so forth. I created this preset based on that idea. The Yin and Yang concept.

Now, onto the preset itself and not just the backstory for it XD

The stripes and spots all glow, in case you can't tell by that night shot at the top of Ascension Island.
In case you wish to know, I started with the white side and then inverted it for the black side. It's not pure black, rather just 10 10 10. How would you see the black glow?

Presets & Markings / Fabulously Free

I originally intended to only have glow outline or cel-shading, but they both looked cool, so. . . Have both?

Each material file is labeled with it's respective effect. Rename the file you want to preset_2 and remove the other one from your folder!

If you don't have the proper files to see the effects, I'd be happy to send them to you. ^^

EDIT: I just noticed an issue with the outline glow and cell shading effects. The game refuses to let any preset with outline glow or cell shading export, not just this. I have tried it with another preset with outline glow, and I've gotten the same error. So very sorry about this!

Here's a roleplay sample:

Bagot quietly slinked through the trees, her tail's maw flicking it's tongue out every now and then. This cold weather was bothering her, making her limbs stiff, but she just had to keep moving. She spotted a bit of a commotion going on below. There was a battle going on between some cats, and several appeared dead. She sighed, wishing that they didn't have to fight. She debated jumping in, but she decided against it. The she-creature yelped as the branch she had been standing on for the past minute collapsed, scattering the cats below.
"Oof," Bagot muttered as she hit the ground, standing up and shaking the snow out of her pelt. She trotted off in the opposite direction that the cats had scattered in, speeding up as her favourite boulder approached. She leapt up onto it, sitting with her tail curled over her paws. It's tongue, as it tried to lick it's jaws, incidentally licked her paws. "Ew," she muttered, the tail opening it's jaws again so she could have said that at all, tongue doing the same thing to her paws as the tail's mouth closed. She decided to stay silent.

Please warn me if you won't be able to respond for a few days or longer, or I may move on to the next person thinking you've lost interest.

One last thing: If you're uncomfortable with LGBT characters, please do not offer to roleplay. My character is a lesbian, and although it is not a major part of her, please keep this in mind if you were planning to have some sort of romantic plotline.

So, I'm sure most by now know that Softie has posted some wonderful new effects for presets.
I've used the Cartoon Outline for this preset.



Her name's Galaxia. I'm still working on her character, and even what species she is, but this is her preset.

Please do not copy! I spent a good amount of time working on her preset, and copying it is such a shallow thing to do.

Presets & Markings Tutorials / Adding Textures to Presets Using Gimp!

Hey guys! For those of you rather new to making presets, and using Gimp, you may or may not know how to add a texture to your preset.

Don't worry, you're not alone. I didn't know either. Since some people have nothing to do while the server's down at the moment, I figured I'd help out some floofs.

Step one-- design your preset. This is important. I'll use a simple pink preset.


Step two-- drag the texture you want to use onto the image. In Gimp, this creates a new layer.


Step three-- Well, look how opaque that is! We don't want that! Click the tab "Layer", select "transparency", then "colour to alpha"


Step four-- this screen should come up. Just click "OK", and then you've got your texture! Have fun preset-making!

Dreer are a species that appear to be a cross between deer and birds.

Males
Males are, on average, are 1.2 meters(4 feet) tall, and weigh 25 kilograms(55 pounds). They have a dark gray pelt with brightly coloured dorsal feathers on their wings, pattern determined by genes.

Alles and patterns in order from dominant to recessive:
Red stripes: RR, Rr
Blue stripes: BB, Bb
Green stripes: GG, Gg
Purple stripes: pp

Green blotches: AA, Aa
Purple blotches: xx

Blue to green gradient: BB GG, Bb Gg, BB Gg, Bb GG
Green to blue gradient: GG BB, Gg Bb, GG Bb, Gg BB
Blue to purple gradient: BB pp, Bb pp
Purple to blue gradient: pp bb

Females
Females are, on average, 1.1 meters(3 feet 7 inches) tall, and weigh 20 kilograms(44 pounds). Their pelt is brown with various spots on their pelt and wings to blend into their surroundings.

Sex Neutral
Wings have a thin layer of fur underneath the feathers at birth that is later replaced with down feathers at 2 weeks. Wings with flight feathers are at a scale of 1:1 with the body, to have enough lift to fly at all.

Head is that of a deer. Front legs have small paws with large talons, and rear legs have small hooves.

Warm weather variants have light feathering on the paws, shoulder, and rump, and 30 cm(1 foot) long tails covered in feathers.
Cold weather variants have thick feathering on the paws, shoulder, and rump, thicker fur, and 20 cm(8 inch) long tails covered in thick fur.

Dreer tend to live to between 15-25 years of age. Fauns(dreer young) have a 27% chance of dying before reaching adulthood at 2 years.

Fauns leave their mother at 1 year, and reach sexual maturity at 1.5 years.

Diet includes berries, leaves, and grass.

Mutations
One of the most common mutations is the appearance of male colourations in a female, or the appearance of female colourations in a male. This happens in 42% of female births, and 23% of male births, and is a dominant trait.

Another rather common mutation is being born without a sex, aka without sex organs. These neutral dreer often show an even mixture of male and female characteristics, that are mostly determined by the genes from their parents, often showing more traits from their father than their mother, such as sharing the shade of grey that their base is, or having a pattern on their wings. This occurs in 32% of births, and is a recessive trait.

The most common mutation is having any amount of white on their pelt, often on their underside and legs, though it's not uncommon for them to be piebald. This occurs in nearly 63% of births, and is a recessive trait.

A rare mutation is albinism, where the entire base, hooves, talons, tongues, and talons are white, and the eyes, pawpads, and nose are pink or red. This occurs in 12% of female births, and 7% of male births, and is a dominant trait.
