CCG GLOSSARY
A ghoul investigator is a specially trained professional employed by CCG. They are tasked with the investigation and incapacitation of ghouls to protect the civilians of Tokyo's wards and the rest of humanity from any potential harm that may be caused by ghouls. During their investigations, they scrutinize crime scenes for traces of ghoul suspects, expose the identities of ghouls and neutralize ghouls. Their objective is to eliminate every ghoul for humanity's sake, defend humans and bring peace to their city.
Investigators are employed by CCG. CCG employs two kinds of investigators: Ghoul investigators and bureau investigators. In addition, CCG sometimes employs investigator assistants.
The investigators are sorted by ranks: Special Class Investigators, Associate Special Class Investigators, First-Class Investigators, Rank 1 Investigators, Rank 2 Investigators, Rank 3 Investigators, Unknown Rank.
A Quinque is a weapon that is fashioned from a ghoul's kagune. The quinque can be made into various shapes like axes, guns, shields or blades to a degree, but most still retain some characteristics of the original kagune. In rare cases, a quinque can also be fused from two kagune. Only CCG's rank 2 ghoul investigators and up are permitted to use quinques. The ghoul investigators transport them in bags or suitcases.
A Quinx is a human with a modified Quinque installed in their body. Because this resembles a normal Kagune, they are commonly mistaken for ghouls and half ghouls. Quinx are similar to one-eyed ghouls because they only develop one kakugan, in contrast to normal ghouls who develop kakugans in both eyes, but they have a grey schlera instead of a black schlera. Quinx can digest human food and they do not crave human flesh, unlike half ghouls and normal ghouls do. Even so, it is shown that devouring human flesh still increases the overall power and stamina of a Quinx.
