Character Name: Andre Tomás Maverick
Roleplay Sample:
It took the man a while to finally blink open his pale, hazel eyes, having stayed up much past his usual self-imposed curfew. In fact, by the time he actually fell asleep, sunlight was already filtering through his bedroom window. It was rough for someone who, on a nightly basis, abided to a "strict" schedule. After watching whatever shows his coworkers recommend, he lounges in his chair and reads from an ever changing book for about an hour, sometimes more; Andre's mother was an English major, so she never allowed him to let up on a new book. Then, soon after getting up and sauntering into his bathroom, he gets ready for bed. That routine is as normal as one could get, so it's not worth noting.
Typically, Andre was out before midnight. He slept up until seven, and was well rested for the day ahead of him. Today, however, was different. His "strict" schedule was out the window, and with only two hours of sleep under his belt, he woke up in a rather groggy state of mind. Andre drew in a deep breath, taking a moment to go over how absolutely drained he felt. If he could describe the feeling.. it was literally as if he'd just had five of the strongest drinks a bar could give him, right after getting hit by a moving bus. What a lovely image, yes?
The man had to literally force himself into a sitting position, dark brown hair looking like it'd just been sent straight through a tornado. His gaze, warped with fatigue, flickered over to his nightstand. He immediately noticed the ten missed calls, and a half-awake panic set in. Andre ran a quick hand over his face, before using the same one to snatch his phone and hurriedly search for who exactly was calling him. Was it his boss? Was he about to get fired? Suddenly, the device buzzed to life and an all too familiar contact popped up. Narrowing his eyes, he used a single thumb to initiate the call, and pressed the screen up to his ear. "What do you want, Derrick," Andre droned, voice clouded and groggy, though still remotely coherent. "I had to work late last night.. I'm tired," he elaborated with a sigh.
