~STORYLINE~
You take a stroll through Fluorite Plains, just an average wolf that came from the small hole leading to Ficho Tunnel. A brief breeze buffers your face and you look around at the other wolves and cats around you. Most don't have any time to even spare a glance at a stray like you. They all must talk about something, ignorant of the rest of the world around them. Few even pay attention to the advertisements of clans in desperate need of members.
You keep walking, not even hearing the sleek crunches of dry plain grass under your paws. In the distance you can see the Cape Island, with a large rock blocking the portal's view. You look to your right and see Fluorite rolling on and on of what seems like forever. The acacia trees fade into fir trees as the land spreads farther and farther.
But Fluorite's got to have an end somewhere. And it does.... I just need to put effort into my step and before I know it, I'll be on the ocean's coast. you think. The thought bounces around in your head. You stroll on once more and the Stone Bridge is in the clearing. But you hesitate right in the center of the plains under instinct. Out of the crowd, out of what must be a hundred feral creatures visual and none seem to have any patience to even glance at you...
One is not glancing at you. One is staring at you with intimidating eyes. You can't see them, so you frantically pierce around, whipping your head back and forth to find this person. You carefully scan the crowd by the N/Z and all of them are staring at some other person than you. You walk towards the Stone Bridge only to find a lion pride gathering. You seemed to have interrupted their conversation and they lowered their eyebrows in an annoyed gaze.
You say, "Sorry..." to the disturbed lion pride and walk away. Now a little nervous with the daunting feeling of a stare, you add a slight burst of speed to your step. You try to sneak away to the Ficho Hole until the intimidating stare feeling points your head to your left.
There, sitting under a tree is a wolf. Could this be the gazer? you ponder and turn your head away, hoping that you didn't make eye contact. You start walking again and turn back. The wolf is still watching you in a bold, desolate gaze. Your mind has no choice but to go meet the wolf in hopes of breaking the stare.
You nervously put each of your jiggling legs in front of each other, still deciding if it's a good time to dart off or keep walking. You keep walking towards the wolf and scan it carefully. It is a she-wolf and she has a grey coat with deep brown splotches here and there. Her eyes are yellow and contracted, common for a wolf. You pad towards her and stop at a safe distance. You sit down and nervously say, "H-hello..."
The wolf blinked and responded, "Hello."
Once you looked into her eyes, you were locked. You just couldn't look away.
The she-wolf lied down. You thought that you could smell smoke over here, but tried to ignore it. This mysterious wolf continued. "I'm Ember. Mentor and Leader of the Klax Klan. We are in desperate need of members."
"Mentor?" you cautiously ask.
"My main job is Fire Mentor. I teach the fire element to pups and young wolf adults to make them strong."
You were shocked to hear that come from the wolf's mouth. Fire? It sounded almost impossible. You scooted forward, trying to show a sign of peace. As you lied down, Ember blew into your face. Her breath was hot, and not a pleasant warmth. "We are in desperate need of members..." she repeated, her voice softer than before. "I saw you and you looked like... um, uh..." she hesitated and stumbled on her words. "....uh....."
"I looked...?"
"You looked like one of Klax." she turned away, and the stare was finally broken. One of Klax? What is she talking about?? you puzzle. Ember seemed to read your mind, and said, "You look like a wolf that can learn how to use an element."
Your eyes widened and said, "Me?"
Ember chuckled and you felt her warm breath on your fur. "Of course you! The road's gotta have an end somewhere. And it does... You just need to put effort into your step and before you know it, you're a Mentor. Do you accept?"
You look shocked at what she just said and think it over. Should you trust this wolf and join the Klax Klan? Or decline...?
~INTRODUCTION~
The Klax Klan is a literate, fantasy-like wolf RP where your average wolf pup can attend training to become a master of element-bending. It is long-term so if you don't stick with packs for too long, your pup may only achieve a Junior score or less if you leave. Here they can interact with other wolves, and work their way up the long and faithful path of Klax Elements.
The majority of newbies attend *Training* Klax and start out as a student*. Here a Teacher* teaches them the basics of Klax Elements. Every night the newbies and/or pups will gather around a mysterious crystal and place their paws on it. Everybody BUT the students know the secret for the students to advance. If a Mentor finds out that another Klax member told a student the secret, that particular member will be suspended. ::)
Note that you normally don't get to choose the element you want to learn. You may just get lucky, though! When the student finally unlocks the secret at one of the gatherings, there will be a Ceremony of Graduation and the pup will be ordered to go to a Klax Elemental Group first thing in the morning. For students' best of luck, they may want to read the Student's Guide to Klax included with the Klax Download.
In the morning, the pup will meet its new Klax members and Mentor*. The Mentor will hold a ceremony and promote the pup to Junior Klax Rank. There, the Mentor will train the Junior* all about that particular element.They will have to fight other Juniors from other Klax groups and win to advance. The Junior may want to read the Junior's Guide to Klax.
When the Mentor decides that the Junior is ready to advance once more, another ceremony will be held and the Junior will roll onto the Senior Klax Rank. Seniors are usually teenage or adult wolves. The Senior* will need to fight other Seniors to gain more strength and impress their Mentor. >>Hint: The younger their Mentor, the longer it will take to go from Senior to Mentor. The older, the shorter... :-X << Once more, the Senior's Guide to Klax is recommended.
-Ahem- The Senior can also drop out of Klax Training and become a Teacher! Mentors can do this as well, though the likeliness of THAT happening is slim.
Keep in mind- becoming a Mentor may break your charrie's heart more than fill it with pride and joy. I won't tell why though. :-X ::) ;D ( :'( )
If you have an older wolf and they don't want to join Klax, they can become a nanny*! Nannies watch over pups/students while they aren't in training.
If you DO join Klax, try your hardest and try not to drop out! I will say this only once more: this is a long-term pack!!

You think it over and decide that you will join. "I accept your offer!" you broadly announce.
"Great!" exclaims Ember. "Now. First off, I need to tell you something. You are not staring at the real Ember."
"Huh?" your eyebrows shift.
Ember winked her left eye and she instantly drew fire to her whole body. Her coat went from a dirty grey to a charred black. Her torso, ankles and tail caught fire as if the fire were fur. Her eyes went from a normal, yellow, contracted wolf eye to a large pupil and blood-red iris. Her right eye is closed, however, and twitched every now and then. Around her eyes were fire markings. On her left thigh was a rainbow swirl with a fire symbol in the center. She sat up and said, "This is the real Ember. Welcome to Klax my friend."

OK Emily. :3 You don't have to make a preset though. If your pup attends *Training* Klax and realizes that she is gifted with fire, she will finish her basics and join *Fire* Klax, and be trained by Mentor Ember. Where she will lead to then is up to her!

Uh, I don't know if I'd be a good mentor/teacher. And when you say that it's "fantasy," how unrealistic do you mean so when I make my character I'll know the boundaries
I actually have a chara made now, but I dont know if she's good for it. Sorry, I don't have a picture yet, but she's a very light colored wolf with black chimera(1) marks on her body, Celtic on her head, and Siamese on her tail. She has a side mane((no tufts))that is crimson, and her tail tip is the same color. Her eyes are glow orb, and they're I think...greenish-gold? Lol thats as good as you're getting of a description.

If you'd like to start out in training, then you must make a realistic wolf pup. As your charrie advances and succeeds down the road she will slowly start to gain her custom colors depending on what element she is learning. She will not start to gain these colors until she reaches Junior ranking.
When/if she reaches Mentor, I will be happy to make you a preset and Ember will tattoo the official Klax symbol onto your charrie. :3
Oh yesh... did somebody give me Karma? I'm new to the whole Karma thing and I dunno if 'nuzzle' means to give you Karma or what....

Description: (a very detailed bio of your char, can come back and edit whenever you desire) Pyro was known as Shadow because of his personality, even tho shadow is a pup he is smarter and more wise then you think. At night Pyro sometimes "Watches" other animals and they don't even know. He hides in the shadow of the night. You are prob. wondering why his name is now pyro and here is why: One night he was sitting with his father, as his dad told stories of the past pyro started to stare at a piece of paper and as he was staring it caught on fire. His parents were not happy about this, they sent him to a school to where he could learn how to take care of these "powers" but even they couldn't help with his gift, so they sent him away. Now getting powerful and powerful each day but not able to control his power it wont be to long before he will use it for darkness. One day when he was out hunting another wolf came across and scared him across his eye. (i will post a pic when i get one)

RAWR I was too impatient so I made an application now.
Name - Simara
Gender - Female
Age - Eh, around 7 or 8 months((7 and a half xD I dunno))
Description - Simara is just a young pup. She found the Klax after getting lost from her parents when she wandered off from the den. She was only five months at that time. Because of this, the only things she could catch and eat were mice and hares. Simara rationed the little food she had and stayed close to lakes and streams until prides and packs drove her away. She was lonely too, but then she met Ember. Simara was so happy when Ember asked her to join the Klax, and she immediately said "YES!"
Personality - She's very tomboyish and loves to wrestle and play-fight her friends. She's outgoing and likes showing off anything-whether its a new skill in an element to just merely catching a mouse. Simara can be a little headstrong and that sometimes gets her into trouble.

Well, it depends. If the markings are what you might see on a wolf, then you can keep them. But if you don't see it on an average wolfie, then yeah take 'em off or add more realistic ones. XD

Answer: Yeah, let's say she was CHOSEN (XD) for the water element. As a student, she does not know what she'll be chosen for. When she advances to Junior Rank, you'll need to add some slight blue patterns onto your charrie. You can't add too many though; they have to be little or even fairly unnoticeable from a distance.
When she becomes a Senior, she will have quite a few more blue splotches here and there to show off her water skills.
If she ever becomes a Mentor, then don't worry! Ember is a designer. ;) She'll make a fabulous water coat and stamp the Klax Mentor Symbol on the charrie's thigh. XD

There can be more than one Mentor for each element, but it's appreciated that you don't become a Fire or Life Mentor as we already have one for both. :)

Heheh yeah if you become a Mentor (doesn't matter which element) then just sit tight and I'll automatically go into preset-construction! When the preset's done I'll give you the link to the download. ;)

OK! Since you're automatically going to be a Mentor, you can choose which element you want to teach. We need a Dark Mentor the most, but you don't have to be a Dark Mentor. There can be more than one Mentor for each element, but it's appreciated that you don't become a Fire or Life Mentor as we already have one for both. :)

I think all you have to do is create a ZIP file and put the original creation files (ex: preset_1) inside. Then when I or another mentor see it, they can export it themselves and it'll show up like this (ex: username1). Then the mentor can share their exported file with the rest so everyone can see it :3 If that makes any sense...
Also, if you need help or you need someone to take some presets to make, I've got some experience under my belt. All I need are some ref sheets so I can see what kind of design you'd like and I could make some.

RAWR I was too impatient so I made an application now.
Name - Simara
Gender - Female
Age - Eh, around 7 or 8 months((7 and a half xD I dunno))
Description - Simara is just a young pup. She found the Klax after getting lost from her parents when she wandered off from the den. She was only five months at that time. Because of this, the only things she could catch and eat were mice and hares. Simara rationed the little food she had and stayed close to lakes and streams until prides and packs drove her away. She was lonely too, but then she met Ember. Simara was so happy when Ember asked her to join the Klax, and she immediately said "YES!"
Personality - She's very tomboyish and loves to wrestle and play-fight her friends. She's outgoing and likes showing off anything-whether its a new skill in an element to just merely catching a mouse. Simara can be a little headstrong and that sometimes gets her into trouble.

Heheh you must meet the basic requirements first before trying to make one. You'll need a more professional art program like GIMP or even better, the expensive Photoshop. At first it may seem really complicated, but as you gain more experience with the program and file finding, then you'll be able to make great presets in less than a few hours.
If you think that a few hours is long, then you might not finish your first full preset until the next day (if you want it to look pretty darn detailed). Once you get the hang of it, then you might even get into preset-volunteering! People will start to want your presets. :)
So I cannot answer your question entirely because the difficulty of making presets varies upon the person making the preset. :)

BUT I figured out how to make two different eyes and how to make parts of my preset transparent!((thats how I messed up the codes. I noticed I put parentheses in lots of my posts...xD))

If you already made an application, then just edit it to the new Dark Mentor profile. Here's what I didn't tell y'all: for Mentors, make the Mentor look as realistic as possible. Use Google references. Why? So that way when you're not at the map, others will think that you're an average wolf. The Klax Klan is secret to glancers unless another member tells them about it.
I'm working on the presets! I'm working on 'em... I'm working on 'em... so take a picture of the realistic version and then I can give you the preset to wear and take a pic of that. :)

Description: Whirlpool was born by the water's edge, on the far northwest side of the Plains. There, there is an island. She was born next to the cliff edge on the north side of the island. She grew up, always playing in the water. Her parents saw something in her that they couldn't recognize as anything but magic. Whenever she played in the water, her eyes glowed a bright blue, as if the water was one with her. They felt wary of her and often kept their distance when she played. Whirlpool never understood why, until one day she felt anger towards one of her siblings. In her anger, the water seemed to rise up and came crashing down on the sibling. Her brother almost died. Not long after, her parents abandoned her, telling her she was too dangerous to be near her siblings or anybody else. That was just a few days ago. She still resides there, but sometimes wanders onto the mainland.

lol. Actually, would it be ok to change to a different element? You seem to only have Fire and Water Mentors, so I could train in a different element and become the Mentor for that element. EX: I train for ice under water. Ice is simply frozen water, so water should be able to train me! :D

Err I dun know since I've never had the problem. But it all depends on which element you get, and you can't switch elements unless you quit Klax.
If you quit, you may not be able to pick up after where you were previously, and no more than 1 Klax Charrie per person. So you might have to start as a student again as a teen or even adult. O.o

This sounds really fun, I think that I want to join. But first, some questions:
1. I can commit to being a long term member if I like the rp. I can't guarantee that I'll be on every day though, since I have to concentrate on school. How often do you guys play, and what is the minimum amount that I have to play to stay a member?
2. My computer's really slow with the FH game. Will downloading a map make it slower? I did hear that there's less lag when playing on maps, so that would be good.
3. I've never really role played before, but I've made up a lot of stories, and I used to play games that were basically like LARPing when I was a kid, so I can get the hang of this pretty quickly. I will have to learn at first though, so will you accept newbies?

I'm making the Water Preset right now! Not all the Mentor spots are filled yet so I'll notify you if I need any help. :)
Jessie- I'm trying to visualize your preset here. I'm going to make water splashes around the head and other areas on the body and a huge wave crashing from the tail to the belly. :) The rest will be a baby/sky blue color to match. The water is pure blue; 255 blue code.
I'm better with fire as I know the tiny edges of each flame and I've never really drawn beaches or water unless it was in a cup. XD I'm going to put little waves around the water areas and go off from there. I hope you like it as I've never made a water preset. :-[

And that is true, there can be 2 Mentors per element, but it's best if there's only one. I was hoping that only 1 or 2 of the elements could have 2 Mentors.
And sure cherrybom, make the preset. DON'T export the preset files yet though; put them in a zip file and let me download them. I'll stamp the Ice Mentor tattoo on its left thigh and put a bit of special coding in. Then, you can re-download the preset and export it for all of us to download again.

There is one Fire mentor. There can only be one fire mentor, but a student has been chosen to learn fire. What would happen to the student if he/she can't be a mentor?

If there is a young Mentor with a very skilled Senior, the Senior may wait to become a Mentor. Or, not even become a Mentor and branch off to become a Teacher or Nanny. Did I answer your question?

Good news everyone! My dad and I played with the ogre coding and now FH works! Wings are a bit choppy and now I need to make spirit wing presets for everyone in the clan, but so far so good. I'm going to make a new cat to test out these funny wings.

The first link is the blue-ish gray color I want for the body, and maybe the links below it as markings? >.< Personally markings are easier for me, I've never downloaded a present before.

XD The files are in reference. Use the reference and rename it Preset_(insert number) equip_(Left or Right or neither if the wings are the same on both sides). Preset_12 already is coded for wings, though the first ones are not. I actually did the coding for Preset_9 myself. :D I'm so happy with myself for that! XD

Also, wings are not allowed in the Klax Klan as they really mess up the whole purpose to each element. You can only have wings when you become a spirit. I'm editing the presets a bit, hope you dun mind.

BTW, see some Youtube videos on how to make presets. You'll find some good ones on how to make glorious presets fast by cheating. >:D

Cherry's preset-
On the head- Do you want the swirl on the inside or outside of the ear?
On the eyes/eyelids/teeth- I can make realistic teeth and eyes for you if you like. Custom stuff is my thing!
On the hair- I'm not sure if you have the right hair... that hair file is for the fluffy main for LIONS! XD Use the spiky hair file.
Whole thing- Do you want fur? That's easy to add.

Ok... Swirl is on the outside of the ear. I was wantig glowing eyes, but they didn't go well, so I added pupils. the colors I have are the colors I want and yes, please make them realistic! The hair thing is because Shard has an eyecover mane. :D Go ahead and make the changes! The fur.... only the blue part of the preset is fur... her paws are ice and she has frost that merges her ice legs and fur together. If you want to just completely remake the whole thing, I'm ok with that! :D It was my first preset, and, to tell you the truth, I'm pretty happy with it for my first one.. I did it half an hour because my bro wanted to get on the computer I was using... No wings? ok.. whatever... I was gonna make them made of ice, as you saw... So tthey wren't "Wings" so to say... They were made of her element. If you choose to just redo it, please keep my idea for the most part! D: Legs of ice, top half of blueish fur, and frost merging the two together! The white rim under her eye, the spirals on her ear and cheek.. (May you move the other spiral up? It's too far down.), and her silvery nose. :D I couldn't make the mouth look good in the reddish color it should be, so I made it blue... But, like I said, go ahead and redo the whole thing if so please!

I made a completely invisible preset once.... THAT... was like... flipping scary. XD There were two floating eyes.... ohmaigawd... I'm surprised it didn't give me nightmares.
And I believe I can do that for your preset. The red mouth is easy, just take preset 1 or 2 and edit it silly! XD It'll already have some features that are harder to put in. I'm thinking on how to do the fur... add the fur layer... erase the icy belly fur... yep, I can handle that. ;)

You have to mess with the coding. Two-sided presets or two different eyes is easiest. I made one with two colored eyes. I'll try to get a picture of her to show you ((I use her in-game a lot))

ERASE THE ICY BELLY! Do you mean the frost? Because the ice on the legs is a nesessity... D: I made her history, and she lost her paws to frostbite. Using her element, she recreated her paws! I feal sorry for her, but it makes for an interesting character to rp! XD

I'm not sure which is better or worse- losing your paws to frostbite or falling into a volcano.
Ember fell into a volcano. XD She and her comrades thought she's be dead, but a few minutes later something fiery zipped out of the volcano like a comet. Turns out it was Ember, the Wolf of Fire.
And you know how the story says to NEVER lie as a student? They mean it for your character's life. If you lie just to get the element you want, then if you ever become a junior, then it'll really sting to start becoming that element. Your character will be through a lot of pain.
And if your Mentor decides that it's time for YOUR CHARACTER to become the Mentor, you'll have to take the Change of Destiny and almost completely become your element, like what Ember and Shard did.
However, if you lied from the beginning, it is... most likely you will die instead of advance. 0.o
Bad for the Mentor, the character itself and the whole clan. The Mentor will have no one to take their place in time (I WON'T TELL THE SECRET), the character will be dead and the whole clan will have to suffer the death of a member.
All in all, DON'T LIE!

OK, here's what SOPA + PIPA plan to do. They want to stop internet piracy, but that includes ALL copyright violations or even misunderstanding. All file-sharing or video-sharing websites will be terminated.
Also, they don't want any copyright 'violation'. Feral Heart and Spore are both great examples. MANY people make Pokemon on FH and Spore. Nintendo (who owns Pokemon) can SUE FH and Maxis (Maxis/EA are the creators of Spore) because they didn't take any action to stop the players from making their copyrighted stuff- in this case, Pokemon. :[
Thus, SOPA will probably be tearing down the following things and MANY MORE:
Youtube - Video Sharing
Google - Link/File Sharing
Mediafire- File Sharing
Feral Heart - Copyright Violation (from players)
Spore - Copyright Violation (from players)
Photobucket - Photo Sharing
Flickr - Photo Sharing
And many, many more. The whole internet will collapse if this bill is passed. Jobs will be lost. D:

My new Spore avatar is to protest against SOPA + PIPA. It's the same one as my FH avatar, only it has a big SOPA censor over Jay's face (lol). Yes, pictures and stuff will probably be censored out by SOPA.

My Feral Heart seems to be broken. I've tried everything to make it work again, but it's not working. I would've played much more with you guys, but all the time I've been trying to fix it, been doing homework, and Spore requests. If there's a Mentor that feels worthy enough to take Ember's place while I'm under maintenance, then do so. Peace.

I'm usually on around...maybe...5:00 or later Eastern Standard Time, but only on Friday and the weekend. I'm usually never on on weekdays because of the massive amount of homework I have almost every day...it's often about 3 - 7 hours worth, so I get no real downtime ;-;
