Okay. Now let me start off by saying.... everyone is entitled to name their character whatever they want? Okay? Ok. Now, with that in mind, I must say that I have found a great deal of humor in some of the warrior cat names Ive found. Some of them are rather respectable choices however after speaking to several people as well as making my own observations, I have come to the conclusion that many people do not really think about the implications of a warrior name when they name their characters. Given that some players are sometimes easily identified by a warrior name, I do not wish to single anyone out SO, I will simply use names I have seen across MANY players or JUST refer to the prefix.
Deathkit. Now there is one I have seen from MANY players. Or DeathPaw, or Deathfur, or Deathstar, whatever. It all leads back to a "Deathkit." Now, if this name had some thought put into it as far as the history goes... like perhaps it was thought to be a stillborn or something, and wasnt, I can understand.
Shredded-Insert Suffix. Shredded Paw... Um... ouch? Shredded Pelt? Ouch again? Shredded Star? Thats not too bad but ......Dare I ask what this cat's KIT name was? SHREDDED KIT? My goodness. Did his mother give birth under a RUNNING LAWN MOWER? If it was a renamed elder... then maybe I could understand.
Burning-Insert suffix. O.O I think this one speaks for itself. Burningstar sounds like a cool name but.... roasted feet and kittens? D:
The last one is the ones who have a prefix of "Star, Kit, or Paw" ....Kitkit, Starstar, and Pawpaw? Really?
What are some other warrior pre-fixes have you found that are either nice and sensible, or perhaps not that you find amusing? I personally like the prefix "petal" and it makes sense to me because some of the cats are named after plants/flowers or parts of them.
Remember everyone has a right to their own opinions and these are just a few of mine. I personally dont see anything wrong with these names so much, they just make me wonder what was supposed to inspire the "mother" to name them.
-
It may be general lack of knowledge as for the namings of these cublets but...
No one ever accepts a CloudFishPaw.
-
I have seen a few crazy, common, unique, creative, and just plain bizzare warrior cat names out in the game. Most of the warrior names I've seen come from the books, obviously. But I really like it when people come up with some names of their own that are not from any of the books.
I have to admit that I have come up with some unusual names for some of the warrior cats I've made, such as: CoffeeCream (a former kittypet), KruegerClaw (yes, he was based off Freddy Krueger XD), LeatherFace, ScarabWing, Ragdoll, PharaohStar, etc.
-
Once when it was really late and most of the players were gone, General turned into a conversation about WC names. We came up with some random ones like "Derpstar" and "Poopface", but then a mod who was online suggested a series of names that we all found rather amusing.
Adminstar, Modclaw, Badtokenfeather, Servercrashpaw, and if Adminstar didn't like you they would send you to Banclan XD
-
You can mostly base the names on nature and a thing Like: Leafeye or Oaktail
-
I wrote a parody of warrior cats once with the main character named Awesomeheart. I'm tempted to make him as a character and make a group called Epicclan (his clan in the story).
-
These are the weird warrior names I've heard...
1. Toiletstar
2. Poopstar
3. Hamburgerfry
4. Frenchfrytail
5. Crazytail
6. Toothbrushpelt
5. Kitstar
Lol... such weird names...
-
I can't think of any odd names, but I've met some cats with clever, nice names. Wolfspirit, Coldcoat, Ravenstar, Jaysong, and many others. I usually use the 'Jay' prefix, (I have an obsession with Jayfeather) and mostly I use 'Jayflight', 'Jaymoon', and I have one character 'Jaystar.' One thing I do find funny, though, is how many Scourges there are. |D Also Tigerstars, Brambleclaws, and Tigerclaws. Not to mention, Thistleclaws.
-
I can't think of any odd names, but I've seen a few.
I think I saw "RageFace" once. x3
-
Omg I've never really been paying much attention to the Warrior Cat stuff anymore, but I still love the series, and just seeing these names makes me laugh.
I mean, for a long while I was 'Tanglemask' I mean for pete's sake I'm still refered to as Tangle. It's like this whole thing, you can't really refer to me as anything else. Everyone knows me as Tangle or Tanglemask. But my name is reasonable. Tanglekit, Tanglepaw, Tanglemask. ;3 It works. Or hope so lol.
But I did actually see one time like "Demonpaw" And omg I can't. That had to be the absolute best name ever -insert sarcasm-
-
I've had a few warrior cat characters~ I tried making their Prefixes rather reasona8le, yet eccentric at the same time.
Examples: Raven, Millenial, Millenium, Fallen,
(Ravensong, Millenial8laze, MilleniumDream, FallenHeart--- his name was changed at apprenticehood :U. Fallenheart'swasanyway)
As for the most amusing- I've seen a "Angel<InsertSuffixHere>"-- which doesn't make much sense to me, considering warriors tend to refer to 'angels' as 'Starclan warriors'.
Another would be "InsanityStar"--- Kind of wondering what kind of mother he had as a kit, naming him Insanitykit and all ouo.
Then there was this rather strange clan name- no offense meant towards them, of course!
"8loodLegendClan".
I kind of just never understood it ouo.
-
I've loved Warriors since I was about 9. At that age I decided to put my name into the 'official Warrior cat name generator', the one where you put your city and your name, and see what you get. So, I decided to see what I got, and it gave me 'Loudmask'.
Not a very cool name, didn't really like it, but being 9 I assumed that that was the name Erin Hunter assigned to me, and have used it ever since for Clans Rps.
I thought about changing it, but that name is basically what started me RPing. I wouldn't ever change it, no matter how odd it is. :)
-
Ah, Death-suffix. It reminds me of a lot more clichee (I'm not sure if I spelt that right) names related to evilness, and not only for warriors. I think I once saw a "dark evil blood" in Bonfire. Yeah, jet black with neon red markings.
Now, now, everyone is entitled to name their cat however they want, but not even trying to find a reasonable prefix for her/him, and instead going with whatever sounds "cool" at the moment usually doesn't make the cat a respectable character.
When I create a warrior cat, I try to find names suitable to their backstory, colour or personality. Silverstream-A grey pelt, former Riverclan member. Crimsonpaw-An orange-red pelt. Timidbreeze-Swift, soft-spoken, shy. I also enjoy to making up funny names, such as Trollstar and other meme inspired names, just for the sake of it. But it's not something I'd RolePlay with.
In the end, you can name your character the way you want it, but it's usually the well-thought names who get more respect and admiration.
-
I once had a WC called Diablopaw. Then DiabloMuerte. Then one of my group members pointed out:
You know that cats can't speak french, spanish, and they have no idea who the 'Devil' is?
I was like
"oh."
-
Omg I'm a warrior cat addict. I am never content with a name like 'Oakclaw' or 'Darkcavern' too easy xD. I'm always coming up with names like; Tidalwrath, Skillfear, Torrentrun, Thundersnarl, Dawnprowl, Chilltalon, Finchcry, Valleystep, Goldenmask, Currentlight. I always name a cat by their coloring and gender. Like once I helped my friend and came up with Hurricanehowl and Shattersoul. Lol :3
Random Names I has found-
Midgetnose
Squrrielmeep
Unicornglitter
Deadfly
Runningintotrees
Starstar (-facepalm-)
Raindeerwish
-
I saw someone named "Hawkfang", just recently. Do hawks even have fangs? And you're a cat, not a hawk!
-
TwinkleStar and RumorFrost
^ WTF. XD
-
Like around a year ago I saw a warrior kit named "Weedkit".
He said his mother picked out that name for him. e.e Makes me wonder what kind of mother would name their kit that. XD
-
Sponchbobheart
Sparklebutt
Fatface
Fartbutt
I think the weirdest name is Mousewing, because this weird name was in the real books. Since when do mice have wings!
-
im not to extreme about warriors but i like them okay, ive seen some pretty odd ones like cookiepaw xD i just found that one funny but people dont seem to take it to seriously :I i have two warrior/cat characters they're named like warriors for a reason and have a story behind each name C: my two warrior cat characters are DragonMist and MudPaw hur dur
-
I saw a legit "Fartpaw" yesterday.
-
Aye yes, warrior cat names.
I tend to come up with very odd ones, yet they always have an interesting meaning.
Heres Rumorfrost for example. Her name means rumors that leave a freezing mark on the ones who were blamed.
Hiddenfury. A cat who hides his crazed anger deep within himself.
Branwencry. Branwen means raven in Welsh, so I decided to meld this little name together that basically means Ravencry.
Oh and once at a derpy little Gathering, a person named Fartstar of ToiletClan arrived. 8I
-
Ehehe. Yayus.
I remember several months ago I saw a 'BreakfastClan' warrior thing going on. Some of the characters were Baconstar and Omeletpaw, Orangejuice and some others I can't remember. xD It was very cute, if a little out-landish. I appreciated the humor, if anything.
And, if there are any legitimate warrior names I've seen, I really liked the name Stormgaze. It's simple, and I was just passing by this charcoal gray, blue-eyed kittycat, but I really liked the feel of the name.
Kittykitty.
-
I saw Gangnamstar (Really?)
And once, I saw WhiskeyStar
-
Sodastar. Then, I saw Creeperpaw.
-
;D :D Lolz, i've seen a few too : Peterpelt, Clawface, Picklestar,Teethfoot,Yoshifoot,Awsomeface, and Sadfoot ::)
-
-
Okay I admit I've used a Starkit before, but she has a reasonable backstory >.< and, she becomes a medicine cat anyways so it doesn't matter. Her name is Starstream.
-
I'm pretty sure I saw a cat called Carrotstipe before. I was like "o.0 what..?"
I don't really like warrior cat names. The type of names with two words stuck together don't appeal to me at all. I prefer proper names with a background and meaning.
-
I've yet to run into any Warriorcat names via FH that were particularily outlandish, but there are a few that bugged me, and that was mostly because they would have a similar ending and begginging letter for the first and last part of their name. Like 'Silverriver for example, or Whiteear for another. Not a big thing but it bugged me none the less xD
Also, any warrior cats who had an injury somehow made into their name, like Blindeye, Brokenfoot, Halftail, ect. They wouldn't have been born like that so why one earth would any reasonable parent give them names like 'Halfkit and Brokenkit?" o-O
Some Warrior names that I like ~
Wavewatcher, Fallingstar, Seastar, Maplesky.
-
Poot *insert ending here*
The randomness never ceases to amaze me .-. (XD)
-
I must say. One word. That changed my world. Of derp. For me. "Couchstar." Of HouseClan.[/color
-
Shoefrost.
Is that some kind of foot disease? e.e
-
I once saw a leader called RockStar.
Rockstar: "What are you doing in ___Clan's territory, kittypet?"
Lulu Kittypet: "I'm... I'm sorry."
Kojak Bobcat (me): OMG a Rockstar! -throws an electric guitar at Rockstar- Play me a jam!))
Lulu Kittypet: XD
Rockstar: XD
Random warrior cat: XD
Rockstar: -breaks guitar- >:I ))
Kojak Bobcat: Now you're acting like a true rock star)) *o*
-
I made a Pornstar for the lols. I was asked by a mod to change though.. obviously. xD
-
Well, I must say that most Warrior Cats names have to do with nature or Animals. Examples:
FoxHeart.
LeafStar.
OakKit.
Featherpaw.
See? These were all in one roleplay, it was fun, and our clan was called 'Nature Clan!' but it disbanded -_-.
Anyway! Lots of Warrior Cats names are wicked, I once met a cat called SerpentStar, and some even copy of the books. I know this may sound weird, but I have made my own version of Warrior Cats, but in stead of Cats, its wolves! Its very fun!
Once, I saw a random cat named 'PoopStar.' And his some of his clan mates; 'WeeKit' 'SloppyPelt' 'BladderClaw.' Random right?
-
Well as some can see mine is Mossstar, b/c Mosspaw is the name warriorcats.com gave me, and also as a tribute to Bluestars lost kit mosskit.
I am normally grey with black markings.
Some odd once ive seen are:
Temponstar
Randompaw
Mineturtle {no joke}
Phycopaw
Roflmaokit
spazzkit {lol xD}
Helpkit {idk y}
-
Just like Mossstar, I have been given the name Spottedtail by StarClan (warriorcats.com) and I have seen some weird names like:
Winterface
Northstar
Owlprint
Bluekit (and they weren't even blue!)
Bleh, I forgot some others, but I have that so far.

I too have seen Northstar, infact im in her clan. On a cat named Leafclaw.
-
Ha, I made one named Deadleaf. She obviously started out as Deadkit. However, she was a stillborn that wasn't really stillborn and survived. But yeah, it made it work. Her fur is grey, like a dead leaf. (Also, I saw Pharohstar)
-
Omg Lady, I remember that. I was the random cat. X3
-
ive seen this once....kitstar..........
-

i saw pharohstar at a gathering once , we got in..a fight...( thanks to his godmodding and my cats unusual cat's size , thanks to his tiger lineage , we ruined the gathering , the fire was , of course added to by , deathstar and someone i think named gangamstar? o.o yeahh ) my name is Wolfstar , and i also saw a deathblade and ***star .

I recently saw the following warrior names...
Skullcrack
Buzzardskull
Steriodclaw

I play the role of Pharaohstar... when did this event happen? This sounds like a bunch of lies to me... unless somone else has made a Pharaohstar character (trust me, I've had some clones once or twice). Either that, or I have forgotten.

I've seen Kittypetstar.
-
I once made a cat called Twinstar because, well, it sounded cool. But when I wanted to use him in a group where I could not be leader I was stuck. I had to change how he looked and call him Twinstripe and that still doesn't make sense to me. Plus why would Riverpath, his mother, call him Twinkit? He isn't a twin to any cat! Ugh!
What I really wont like is when people are called Coldstar or something and their clan is called ColdClan. True all the clans in the book where named after their first leaders, Thunder, Wind, Shadow, River and Sky, but I don't really like it.
-
Hmm, @Rustys, maybe Twinstripe was called Twinkit because he had two matching stripes running down his back? I mean, she could have assumed that might have been his warrior name later, or something. Or, he simply could have had his name totally changed when he became a warrior, and was never 'Twinkit' at all.
As for clans being named after their first leader-- I get that, but it does sound odd in many cases. I guess it's just that thought in the back of your head that's like "Oh, that's kinda self-centered~" Even though it's probably not meant to be. xD
I think it's more fun to have a clan (even a made-up one) with a pre-written history. That way the clan leader can sit around with his or her clan, and they and the elders can tell stories of past leaders and the warriors that made their clan great~
Squee. That would be so fun. ^^ <3
-
I think I saw someone named Starpelt once..... I know it sounds cool, but what if they became leader? STARSTAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! my sister and i were laughing so hard when she told me about that :p

Musta been a clone then.... The gathering i was at had weird white cat saying" lets go attack wolfstar's clan " and deathstar , the little bugger , kept being a thorn. Then when my character snapped and attacked him Some pharohstar said " picks wolfstar up , - " is there a problem little guy? or something like that " which made my character even more mad even though i usually am more nonchalant this particular character i was on had a wee bit of a temper, back then , oh wait reverse that , this was back when he had my personality until i gave him a more calm , personality. Wait , Hrm... that might be going off topic so anyway i found a couple more weird names :
derpstar , Fingerstar , shootingstar , Halfstar , Yummystar..... strange
Oh and i remember who that weird cats name was , It wasn't gangnamstar it was a cat named eneimenstar ! Perhaps you remember her? If not ,oh well , then you really must have either forgotten or it was one clone

Oh yeah! I remember that now (especially when you mention Emeniemstar). That Pharaohstar wasn't a clone, that was me alright. And Pharaohstar was actually trying to "pick up" Deathstar from the ground after Wolfstar had attacked her and shoved her into him. I might have accidently said that he "picked up Wolfstar" (Me and my typos). When really it was really supposed to be, "-He picked Deathstar up to get her too her feet- "Are you alright, Deathstar?" he asked-" He didn't actually pick her up with all his strength, since Deathstar is bigger, but pretty much helped her up and dusted her off.
Me and the person who plays Deathstar kinda know each other from past roleplays, so we sometimes have each others backs.
Anywho, just to stay on topic I saw the following...
Acidstar
Dreampool
Lizardtail
Snaketounge
-
I've never really been partial to most of the warrior cat names.
Don't kill me. o3o
I have nothing against using nouns as names --I have several of those-- it's just the combination of two things doesn't help my brain click to a character as well, I guess. There are a few exceptions, of course, I actually kind of like the ones associated with flight ((SoulFlight)) and the ocean. My character's name is SeaSpray (who isn't a warrior cat), and I saw a really pretty character running around named SeaFoam.
Overall though, prefixes dealing with death and demons or things like that are a little overdone to me. But of course there is nothing wrong with having any of those and it's just my opinion. ^^;
-

Aye, that's another thing... Death/demon-related names are certainly one of those things that seem, as Haruki said, overdone. o; I guess if it fits your character, and they have a past that was so dynamic and dramatic to have taken on that name, then I'd understand, but it would take a lot for a she-cat to name her kittens something so dark.
That's what I'd think, anyway.
I do feel there is something to be said about the contrast of a character with a light name, and yet a heavy past hidden behind those beaming eyes. *mysterious finger-waggle* xD
-
Heh, I made a cat once called MentalIssues.
The more amusing ones are those like Pheonixpaw, or Lazerstar, stuff warriors would never've heard of and aren't in the rp.
-
I've seen Bearclaw, tailless, and Demonclaw before. Strange 0_0
I was also getting a warrior name of mine on that warriorcats.com site, and got Icebreath. Loved it.
Then later made a small typo when trying it again, and got Icenose. And I'm like "What the... 0_0?"
This is kind of amusing to me to see the strangest names, and the awesomest names.
I have come up with a few names, like Darkfrost in replacement of my favorite warrior cat's name, Darkstripe, and Darkmist, a oddly colored insane warrior cat. Also Graydawn.
Its a bit easier for me to come up with names for Warrior cats instead of actual names for characters, just cause its easier, you know? Though still sticking with Darkstripe MAYBE, I find some odd names amusing, I've also seen a Kitkit before. :I
-
I've see some pretty terrible names.
Demonfire
Stonestory
Blackblood
Bloodstar
Deathstar
Phoenixblood
Just... I can't.
-
The other day I saw a Boulevardpaw.... I guess he was a cat from a city clan maybe? o.O
Oh well, I did make up some city clan cat names myself, such as Graphititail, Concretestar, Brickpaw, Scrapstar, and so on. It was all for fun and laughs.
-

Hmm, this event must have happened when Deadleaf got... lost and was watching kits get tortured by this other leader and trying to save them along with another Medicine Cat.

That certainly is a mouthful of a warrior name, though. It doesn't flow so well, in my opinion... But then again, if for whatever reason a wild she-cat knows what a saxophone is, I guess she can name her kits whatever she wants. o-o *Z-snap*
-
Thunderfoot.
He must suck at hunting.
-
Moonpaws WCLeader
-sigh-
I seen two cats called Lostfang and Softclaw (turns out they were elders, which is understandable. But I feel bad for lost fan Owo)

Whos dad was Satinstar
And mom was Godfur
Bible shipping much??
I've seen some bizzare Warrior names, but those really take the cake.
Some recent ones I saw...
VampireWing
AlligatorHiss
AvalancheCall
SnakeVenom
AntBite
-
There was a cat from the REAL BOOKS named.....
Mousewing
Since when do mice have wings?
I don't see why people want to pick these stupid names when there are plenty normal but eye catching names. Some of my warriors names are Runningfox, Crosseyes, Sunbeam, Thistlethorn and Horseleap. They are different but not stupid.
-
I saw a pale cream she-cat with the name of FlutterWing. I almost melted, thats the best name yet! Then I saw one of her kits named HollowKit, the other one Burrowkit, and Sappelkit.
Best... Names... EVVVVVEEEERR!
Today, I saw a cat named 'FurgusthecatStar.' I was like -_- FurgusTheCatStar?

I kind of like Alligatorhiss. I never seen a cat with Alligator in his name. But Antbite, that is just pathetic! That cat must be really weak.

I recently saw a blue clan leader called Wizardstar. He was leader of MagicClan.... have they gone Harry Potter on us now? I can imagine a clan leader with a big Merlin beard, doing some crazy magic.

I... I'm not sure if it's a win, a fail, or something bizarre in between. But the Merlin thing was a nice touch. xD
One thing that's crossed mind recently about warrior names is the fact that sometimes creative/pretty names end up matching a character's name in the book.
For example, a cat named Blueheart or Blueskies wouldn't be that big of a deal. However, if a cat in a new clan (one not derived from the book book) became a secondary leader of that clan (thus becoming Bluestar), I would feel bad for that Bluestar when other players just assume they're using the Bluestar from the books.
It wasn't intentional, after all. Just a coincidence that Blueheart became Bluestar. However, I have seen some warrior RPers be so scrutinizing of one another's name that they'd have it out at this individual.
I do sympathize with those cats with an unintentional book name.
-
I also saw a MercySlaughter and BibleHeart today..... o___o
-
Like Lady, i saw that wizardstar, i also saw a prupleish silverstream.
I once saw a Milkbreeze.
1.] how you get that kit name...Milkkit O.O

-
Flagbody
---
Not bad, but....How thin is your character?! (I was reading a character bio; and teh parent of the cahracter was flag body. owo)
Mindcontrol.
---
Well that's not scary. /Endsarcasum
-
I saw the lightsaberpaw person in Chat once, but couldn't see his pelt b/c I couldn't find him and when I asked I do believe he said to find him I had 2 use the force ._.
_Thinstrip O.O
_Afrosrule ._.
-
"Afrosrule." XD
I saw a 'Bibleheart' in Fluorite last night, myself. Although I am Christian, I still found that a bit odd for a warrior cat.
*Shrug* Whatever floats his boat. xD
-
Wlh@ Maybe he was in a christian twoleg familiy and wanted to keep gods word in his heart when he left? - shrug -
efore my comp crashed i spotted a simbastar
-
Once I saw a warrior named Twinkiepelt. And another named Fluffystar. And one time I saw a "Smexystar" O,O
-
Once I saw a warrior named Twinkiepelt. And another named Fluffystar. And one time I saw a "Smexystar" O,O
...Odd. It would have been more amusing if the warrior's name was Twinkletoes XD.
-
Yesterday I saw a cat named StarStar and Twinklepelt or something.
Everyone was making fun of Twinklepelt and calling him/her Tinklepelt and saying her/his pelt should be yellow.
Then they saw StarStar and said it was another Twinkleplet. :I
-
o3o
-
The thinsg I've seen, the thinsg I've created...
Seen-
Pawpaw- Same as Starstar, does this not seem weird?
Moonstar- Two worst prefixes combined. :P
Starstar-Does that at least sound a little bit strange to you?
Starstream- Cute, but that's not gonna work.
Moonpool-No. No. No. No.
Starstone-Murr
Moonstone-Umm, either a live walking Moonstone, or this cats other crealy doesn't know the rules of names. 3x
(Hetalia based group I think:
Americastar
Prussiapaw
Scotlandfang
Englandclaw
Irelandholidays
^
That's only a couple! Yet thsi was a while ago, so I don't think the group still exsists. xD)
-
I recently saw a warrior with the name "Painfulpast"..... Now I wonder how he got the name "Painfulkit"? I guess his mother was in alot of pain giving birth to him?
-
I have seen some unique and bizarre names.
1.Buttstar
2.Goatheart...(weird)
3.Tubepaw (haha I love that one xD)
-
Revolutionpaw. Say what?
-
My friend and I saw one at the Stone Bridge named SatanStar, and another called Fallingkit later that week. When it came to the kit, we came up with a back story for it: "Fallingkit. The mother was named Starstar, and was pregnant with Fallingkit. She somehow tripped on a dead fox and fell down a steep yet not-so-steep cliff and died. The kit was dropped on its head, in turn getting that jinxed name, and then Scourge came and killed the mother. The End." I've also seen some cats named Vomitstar, Winekit, and Sickpaw.
Note to Warrior cat creators when naming them: Think before you accept it. It'll eventually be misinterpreted as something else.
-
Okay, the running lawn mower comment just about had me on the floor. XD That was absolutely amazing, Sil.
And while, yes, people are allowed to name their own characters whatever they want, I don't think they understand what goes into that name. If you want to make a good, solid character, especially in the Warriors universe, the name must, first and foremost, make sense to what the character is.
For example, in the books, Firestar is given his prefix "Fire" because his coat is orange AND because of the prophecy Bluestar received. His warrior suffix was "heart" because his heart was always in the right place.
The character Tigerstar was given the prefix of "Tiger" because his litter mates were sick and dying, and his mother hoped that by giving him a strong sounding name, he would survive. His warrior suffix was "claw" because he had very long, sharp claws.
Bottom line: the names make sense for the character as a whole.
That being said, I can see where a handful of names would fly. Such as "Leafeye." Okay, we can break that down; "Leaf" could possibly be for the clan the cat lived in, being born in the Spring, or because his or her soft fur; "eye" could be from the cat's eyes actually being green, or because he or she has good eyesight.
Unfortunately, most good warrior names get lost in the mass of names that make no sense, such as "Lionblaze." Yes, that is a name from the books, and I never once thought it made any sense. "Lion" for his fur and size? Certainly believable. But "blaze"? For what? I'm sure one could argue it was for his fighting prowess, but "blaze" usually refers to fire, especially in the Warrior cat universe, and last time I read the books, none of the cats could use fire as a weapon (and it was only used as a trap once by Ashfur in a scenario that made legitimate sense). They could only run from it.
I recently saw one cat named "Bloodfrost." First of all, no sane warrior cat mother would name their kit "Bloodkit," even if the birth was unpleasantly gory (fetuses don't exactly come out clean, after all). Arguing that the kit's fur is red is not a good excuse, either, because there are plenty of other normal words to be used, including the word "Red."
And as a suffix... "frost"? Really? Blood cannot have frost. It can freeze, but only once a living creature has died, presumably in the cold. I myself once had a cat named "Snowfrost" and I look back at that name and shake my head, because "frost" simply does not add anything to the cat as a character. I'm sure some people would argue that their cat is cold-natured, but Crowfeather was also gold-natured (even if only on the outside) and he was not given a suffix named after an effect weather has on the ground. His son was even colder toward other cats, and his name was "Breezepelt." The word "frost" makes much more sense as a prefix than a suffix in the Warriors universe.
"Dogkit" was another. Why on earth would a mother be so cruel as to name her kit after an animal that posed a legitimate threat? That name makes zero sense.
Most of the biggest offenders by far are those who give their warriors names that are outside of the warrior cat vocabulary. You can't have names like "Gypsymoon". Cats don't know what a gypsy is. Even a kittypet would not know that word.
Any type of religious-related name, like "Angelface" or "Demonpaw." Cats. Do. Not. Know. These. Words.
Types of valuable or pretty stone do not work, either. No warrior cat knows what a sapphire, diamond, or jewel is. And having names that consist of verb suffixes make no sense, either.
And the name Zimstar. Seriously. Invader Zim is the ONLY place that name could have possibly come from, and not even the smartest of kittypets would know it.
I could go on and on, but I'll stop here; this post is probably already being labeled as a "TL;DR." XD I will end on this note, however: I AM a Warrior cats fan. But when even the author comes up with names that make no sense? That's the point at which I am done. The first six books were all that was needed, and the second six made for a good sequel. Everything beyond it is craptacular.
And yes. I have read it.
-
I have seen many warrior cat names here on feral heart.Though nothing gets me more than the warrior names XD I have seen quite a few good ones like Ferntail,Redfern etc...And some funny ones to.Moobut,Derpmouth. I found out that the terms 'Frost...,Wolf....Ice and coble are amung the most common.
-
My favorite warrior is calling Crookshanks^^
-
Actually I found a few.failurepaw(Well,At least we now know that it is not the most skillful of warriors XD) Randomfur(say what now?).If I find anymore I will let you know XD.
-
My gosh.. Twigleap. How can a twig, leap!? I have also seen Applestar and Bananakit ;A;
-
I recently saw one with the name MurderousMind....
-
Applestar is an okay name, because there's an Applefur in the books.
I might've seen something like Oblivionstar or something, and Deathstar. Deathstar is what I think is pretty dumb.
Also, Dog(something) is an okay thing for me, and a cat that may have come from an evil clan can be named Blood(something) in my opinion, if someone thinks it's cool.
That's my opinion though. But Deathstar? Even if he comes from an evil clan, I'm not buying it.
Deathstar is still a dumb name. There's also the odd name Aurorastar, but I'm okay with it.
-
Hi people! I love Warrior cats! It is awesome! :D
I have a friend who plays warriors with me all the time when we see each other. I LOVE Jayfeather, so I am named after him as Jetfeather. I don't want his whole name, otherwise that would get pretty confusing. Anyway, so my friend and I were about to play it yesterday, when she suddenly told me that she wanted to rename herself to Yorktail! And I am just thinking, what? Did I hear you correctly? Yorktail? are you serious? I don't like that name AT ALL. I can't get it out of my head! GAH!
-
I've seen really weird things. I saw a Monochromepaw, Redpelt, (who was, literally red with red eyes.) There's been things such as Demonfang, Killerheart, Deathheart. Eeek. xD
-
All of these are daft, but funny! I once saw a pair of cats named GagnamShake, with black and white fur with sunglasses. the other one was HarlemStyle with neon fur. Sometimes I wonder...
-
Once, there was a cat in Bonfire name Satfur. So weird...
-
What about Braveheart?
-
Mesmerizingeyes, Twinklestar, Wolfface, Awfulpaw, Purpleheart, and Raysting. e.e
-
didnt think it would come to this but some people even do foods, ex: cookiefur, tunapelt, ive even seen a pizzapaw and saladpelt. like really? food? xD
-
Knifestar and Forkpelt of kitchen clan. Nuff' said.
-
Derpyface Herpstar randomface and slenderpaw from Derpclan
-
Slenderpaw's good if it's not based on Slenderman. ^^ But I get your point...
I think I've seen someone with the name like Murderousmind or something... o.o What the heck, people.
I'm glad no trolls used the advantage of Lionblaze. *cough*
-
Yet....
-
Gashoseclaw and Cahsierstar of Gas station clan. I saw them the other day.

-
I just saw one called Gutspiller. Strange is it not?
-
I saw Termlifeinsurancestar. I asked what my rate would be. It said it was going to eat me. Then I said: "Will you be eating me all up front or in monthly payments.
-
Warrior cat names....Oh god we have abused them.
Harlemshake
Drpepsi
Cocacola
Pawfoot....
Firefox (Its actually pretty good...)
Googlechrome
-
I think pop-culture referenced names for warrior cats seem the most out of place. Like, "Randompaw" "Gangnamtail" or "Jokerstar."
-
I made a warrior named Asprinpill XD.
I also thought of the name VivaLaKit
-
I've seen my fair share of people who name their characters after human objects that a warrior cat would have NO idea existsed such as:
Daggerstar
Radiostar
Bulletstar
Treasurestar
Swordstar
Acidstar
I mean they do sound cool but I doubt Erin Hunter would ever add them to her books.
-
Today I saw a warrior with the name StarTrek. I also saw one called MassGenocide.
-
Massgenocide? Makes me wonder if children should learn about WWII. I've seen Loserkit, Loserpelt, Loserclaw, and Loserstar. They were from loser clan I think.
-
Lol this post killed me! Especially the "shredded" one! WC do have some strange names.
-
Not trying to be inappropriate or anything but once I saw a "Tamponstar" in bonfire...It didn't surprise me much considering I was in Bonfire... ~Erik
-
The best names EVAR:
Toffeepaw
Lightsaberpaw
Demonpaw
Deathpaw
Aquapaw (Cats don't know Spanish ;-;)
That's pretty much it. They all end in -paw for a reason.
If any of your cat's prefix (and suffix) were listed here, no ratting on meh. D:<
-
Not trying to be inapropriat or anything but once I saw a "Tamponstar" in bonfire...It didn't surprise me much considering I was in Bonfire... ~Erik
Oh, I know them. It's definitely not a serious character and I think it was made to get reactions out of people.
... I once made a warrior named Dirtywipe.
-
I made characters not to long ago named: SlotMachine, RouletteWheel,Crayolapaw/paint, ForeverAloneFace, and so on and so forth
-
I love it when I am sitting in Flourite and Trollstar pays me a visit.
-
Tamponstar and Periodpaw O_O
-
Those darn children...
-
Those darn children...
vv Are you perhaps referring to the children you made these names? vv I cant really tell xD
Tamponstar and Periodpaw O_O
-
Umm... Sure? I didn't really understand the question. xP
-
Oops O_O Ugh -_- Sorry typo fail :P
vv Are you perhaps referring to the children you made these names? vv I cant really tell xD
Yeah xD um.. What I meant was "Are you perhaps referring to the children who made these names?" LOL
-
I guess I don't go to the public maps enough, personally I have never seen these crazy names before XD.
-
Yes, I was refering to those children. I once saw someone named Poopclaw.
-
I love ginger, cream and roan colored cats so most of my cats names deal with that sort of thing. My own names I try to make unique without being over the top and attention grabbing. I really like using animal and plant names.
Cedarstorm, Gingercloud, Dawnstripe, Kestrelstep, Batsong, Sparrowfeather/talon and Aspenfang are some of my most used characters.
I really dislike dark or overly cliche names though. Bloodstar, Ghostfang, Deathtalon, Moonpaw. Just.. no.
-
Usually each time i wander Fluorite, either F3ing or walking around i end up seeing a Warrior cat with a weird name. These range from gemstone named cats, Demonsomethingorothers, Deatheverythinginthebooks and other things. Aside from those i've seen some really nicely named cats. I know my Warrior cat is named Sandstream. What i don't get is when people name their cats after animals that either havn't been seen in the books or had entirely different names. Like cats with "Cougar" in their names. Nice as that can be the only cougar we've seen in the books was known as "Sharptooth" and was referred to as a "Lion-Cat" or so. Unless clans where told about it i doubt they'd know what a "Cougar" is..
-
Lol all of these names are entertaining to read, but I'm just waiting to see a TrollArc. If anyone knows what that is. owo Or DerpFace, MegustaFace, TrollFace, and so on and so forth. ~Erik
-
I've seen a Trollarch before. I was like: "Hey! I'm part of you!"
-
