Title: When mate begging goes too far

Ok so i was being my Leopard Brad in Cape Of Distant Worlds and this is a example when mate begging goes to far:

F Leopard: -Sees brad and runs up to- Hi                                                                                                                                    Me: The male swung around and stared at the female "Hello Madame" he purred.                                                                       So she started sitting beside me and doing the "lick" emote to my face so i said:
 Me: "I'm not currently looking for a mate right now, Sorry" He said firmly, standing up.                                                            F Leopard: Now excuse me, i'm going to kill myself
I was like "what the fudge dude?" and my sister was like "Drama Llama"

It seems all mate beggers are forceful and if you reject them they take it seriously. They need to understand that you should give people space and that having a mate isn't the most important thing in the world. >.<

Murr... ._. It was more than likely some kid out there that wanted to guilt-trip you for rejecting them. That wasn't right, but you weren't at all in the wrong, Shroomfloof. xD

I had a weird experience the other day, though.

I was on Linger (me winged lion), laying in Fluorite, in another window while working on a commission.
I'd derped and forgotten FH was up, so when I clicked back into the FH window, there was a tan-ish lioness with bright white markings, white wings, and silver eyes, very much like Linger's. She was laying across his forepaws, and I realized that I had three friend requests from this lioness, and two group requests to a group called "Im love you."
I was like "o-o *Cough* How flattering."
After scrolling up a bit, I realized that she'd also whispered me, saying things like-
"hey"
"hey want 2 b my boy?"
"will u be my mate?"
It was really odd, so I jumped up and scooted to the side a little so she wasn't laying on Linger anymore, and just said "Oh, hey. Didn't see ya there, floof. ^.^'"
So, I just pretended not to notice the things she'd sent, so I guess she understood that and moved along after a bit.

Ah, insta-mating. o.o

NO!! @Thrilly, well, no, it's not really off-topic. o: Some people do like to do the quick-mating thing just to do some creepy stuff, especially considering we're still on the interwebs. Interwebs get scary at times. Most floofs aren't like that when they're looking for a mate, but it can still happen. Cautiousness, and getting to know your prospective 'mate' ideally should be done after roleplaying together for some time (in my opinion).
So, I understand where you're coming from, there. LadyAlizarin made a thread very similar to that topic, recently, come to think of it~

@Tidey, isn't it weird? XD And I guarantee you that's why she looked like Linger (more than likely trying to be the same 'species' as him, although he's just a winged lion).

ok i was on my male wold Dimitri and i was in south pole,
and this random red fox thing female named blaze or something walks up to me and laying down rest her head on my shoulder
Im like um..may i help you miss?
She says i love you ill you be my mate.
i Kinda stared at her for a minute, then was like sorry i dont love you , im not looking for a mate and i walked away.
She fallowed me for like a hour before i realized it and blocked her.


then is other time i was on my lion when i was crushing on a grey lioness in RP and this random brown lioness walks up and is like I LOVE YOU!
i was like ai barley know you O.OL
and me and the grey one went to talk and the brown one FALLOWED US!
Then the grey lion asked me out and i said yes, the brown one had been ease dropping and yelled
Adios *** and {some cussing words in spanish, that i didnt know e,e}
And me and the grey lioness {Dawn} was like O.O ok then.

Hmmm, I have had many exsperiances including when I was on a Male lion cub and this random neon lioness (Adult by the way) Started flirting and stuff with me. I was like....." OKay lady, I have to break this, I am a cub okay. Your a neon lioness and... It wont work, I dont go in for pedophilia, So...... I will just... Good bye." I then legged it. It was so awkward >.<

This may not be the worst reaction but it's funny.

So I was just sitting with my old friend, he was on brb. This pink thing named 'Cute Girl' (Literally) comes up and plops down in my friend's arms. He's like...3x bigger then 'Cute Girl'.

So I say "...He's not looking for a mate......." She doesn't pay attention.

"Er...Can you leave..?" I was getting a bit jelous.

After a few moments, 'Cute Girl' blocks me then unblocks me. Then she leaves.

My friend comes back and I'm laughing my ass off. :D

Although I would see why he gets alot of unexpected visitors....he has these eyes that are..so epicly beautiful and hipnotic.

As annoying and frustrating as some of them are, I have to say that they make FeralHeart what it is. I certainly enjoy hanging around at Bonfire and F3ing  mate centers. I can't be the only one, right? Oh, not to mention when there's one Simba and two Nalas... Just grab some popcorn and you're good to go for at least half an hour.

Once. There was a male lion.
And he strutted up to me.
And said.
"I'm looking for a female lion mate who doesn't mind having lots of babies."
Now of course, I ran, and other lions flocked up to him.
But he followed, because all the other lions were sparkles and he wanted realistic.
And he kept following me and asking about it and it was getting weird.
I had to log off for a bit.
But it's kind of funny if you look back on it now. xD

Lawl. That's pretty funny. At least he was honest and he asked. |D I would have said yes just to see what he'd do.

Mate-beggers are just strange, this isn't my story but it's my brothers.
Aztec(My brother) enters cape; he sits down for a bit, then this girl comes up to him. He talks to her and FIVE SECONDS IN she says this 'Be my mate!' and he's like; Erm no thanks. She starts crying and follows him moaning about it.
He finds me and we talk. Then this girl comes back as a dragon and 'tears me open in one blow with saber teeth for stealing my mate' (No kidding, this is what she said, exept me is; you). She then turns to my brother and does the lick action before laying over him. At this point we both block here. Sorry, don't really know if this is 'mate begging' but ah well

I lurk the centers a lot. It's pretty amusing entertainment wise and I've even met a few literates there that I'll take away, befriend and rp with.

My own personal mate begging story is pretty- odd. I have a habit of trolling Bonfire, alot. I was preforming a 'social experiment'. I made am ale lion named "Dahv", we was yellow and had blue markings (eww). So I just sat there on the cliff and added up all the female lions and felines that talked to me. I tried to be as noobish as I could and came up with some horrid sob story about my pride. One of my friends was 'undercover' too lurking.

Eventually this one chick asks to be my mate and I say ok, but then this other lioness comes up and flirts with me. So I'm all "do u want b my mate? ur so pretty" and they said yes but my other 'mate' overheard and the two lioness fought over me, before one pushed the other off the cliff (powerplaying mind you). And I'm just laughing over skype hysterically with my friend. And eventually the one came back as a ghost and I was in too deep so my friend made an alligator character and killed me.

It was pretty amusing.

Since most of my friends are girls it's pretty dramatic. Here's someone I knew for a long while then suddenly she starts talking about how she found her mate cheating on her. Now the nice woof I am I offer advice and help. Then five seconds later she start hinting that I ask to be her mate, I change topic and then suddenly she is drowning in a lake. Meanwhile I sit there watching, lol. Then some other male saves her and she starts saying how disappointed she was, basically now trying to get this guy to feel sorry fer her. I really don't feel bad when I have to delete a friend Ive had fer a long time when they start asking to be my mate. Also, any other lone wolf parent adopt and then suddenly the pup grows up in five to ten minutes later then proceeds to start flirting with you? Lol.

Players who put "IH" (In Heat) in their characters names... that's a definate mate-begger for ya. I once saw some horses out in bonfire, and there were a few mares with the "IH" tag behind their name. Sure enough they started acting all romantic and flirty toward any stallion that came near.
If you see any female animal characters with the IH in their character names, you know that's a potential mate-begger.

There was a character that asked to be my mate, I said no then they came back on as a snowleopard (what my char was) and asked again, I still said no, and they just followed me around, which was quite fun!

Oh mate beggars...there should be a horror movie of one somewhere out there in the world. (There might be though) but anyway, I've had a mate beggar actually go on a killing spree and killed me and Lord just because I rejected her o3o. Kids these days man....it's scary.

I've had something similar happen actually. I was lurking in Bonfire with a friend and this group came up, like three. And this chick is all "Will you be my friends mate? It's ___" who was the girl behind her. So I was just like:  "Uhmm.."

Then out of nowhere she's like "Be my friends mate or i'll kill you."

The heck? Really dude? So I proceeded to troll them and out powerplayed them. Eventually they died. c:

That's pretty funny, though. While I generally try not to feed the trolls/mate beggars, the fact that you went and out-powerplayed them is great. xD I suppose you may as well have fun with it, if they actually attack you for not being their [friend's] mate.

I never liked mate beggars... It seemed they were just looking for someone to be their mate because they wanted 'kids'. But, there's always those mates who believe they should be your mate in every rp. (Which is annoying in my opinion.) Mate stories:
Some female was rubbing against all of the male lions and they were uncomfortable and even if they moved, she followed. She would consider any one her mate until some lion tricked her into going to South Pole, saying there was lions there, and then the pride just bolted off. I would give a longer story, but I'm too tired. xD

I've neer ha crazy mate beggars, but they were.... "slutty".
Example:
I was on my wolf Final Hour (he's pretty cool, black with the "infection" symbols on his body and they're purple with purple bat wings and purple orb eyes c;) and this random black wolf comes up to me and says "hey wanna be my mate" I just said "Ah... No. Thanks though." Then they said "Ok" and walked away a couple paces, asked another wolf to be their mate, then they walked away all "in love" and I just sat here like....

Mate begging isn't a problem to me, sort of is though. Sometimes hard to ignore in general ^^ Off-topic: Tiffashy has awesome videos on YouTube, and that mate beggar song <3 Aww yeah. P.S Tiffashy was the maker of that video, just saying ^^
Anyway, back on-topic, mate begging does go a bit far... At least there are mate centers. Mate centers shall never stop it, though. More mate centers please~ :U
Every time I look at a huge group of people... for sure, I'm going to know that's a mate center ;w;
They are even sometimes in Ficho nowadays, I hear.

The other day this really weird "mate-begging" experience happened. Me and the friends I was with thought it was awkward.

Okay, so one night I was derping around with some clan cats (I was one of my fox characters at the time) when this she-cat character wanted to join us. Since we were not roleplaying, she decided to stick around. Well, she gets all snuggly with me, calling me a comfy plushie. I didn't think much of it... but then things got weird. Some of my friends wanted to see what my fox character would look like if she were a boy fox. So I changed her into a "him" and logged back on. Well the she-cat had turned into a tom, and when she saw me as a male fox, she changed back into a she-cat. The she-cat started loving up on my now male fox character. Me and my friends were like "O_O" But THEN, while all this is going on, she starts acting VERY rude to some of my friends and the other cats around us. The things she said to them started making me more upset.
She-cat: "I love u" ^3^
Me: "But I'm a fox... and you're a cat. Wouldn't my skunky smell bother you?" (Yes, foxes have a skunky musty odor)
She-cat: "Nope. I like it."
Rainy: "Okay..." o.o
Other cats: ".... Well then"
Me: You do know that this character is supposed to be a female, right?
She-cat: Nah! Stay as a guy
Me: I need to change back into a female. -le loggs off to change my fox back into a female. Then I switch over to another character.-

After I switched characters, I came back and she had turned into a male fox. After she saw what I became, she decided to change her character and that's when this happened....

That's what really drew the line. I've experienced a few mate-beggers before, but none like this. It didn't matter what animal I was, and it didn't matter what gender my character was either.
But THAT"S NOT ALL!
One of my character's daughters came onto the scene. Yes, Kojak has cubs. When his daughter came up to us, the female bobcat said to her...
F Bobcat: "I'm ___ and this is my mate, Kojak. What did you come here for?"
Bobcat Cub: "I came to see Kojak."
Kojak Bobcat: "This is my daughter."
F Bobcat: O.O Daughter? You already have a mate?
Kojak: "I do have a few mates. I used to have 5 but some of them got trapped by hunters."
F Bobcat: 5 MATES?! That's not right!
Kojak: Male bobcats can have more than one out in the wild. It's nature))
F Bobcat: So we are playing realistically?
Kojak: I always play realistically.
Bobcat Cub: Same here
F Bobcat: This is stupid -.-

So I eventually had to log off, and that's when it ended.

I was on my male character, Jake, and all of a sudden lots of similar coloured females began to spawn around me. They sort of formed a circle around me, and one by one they whispered me saying: 'will u be my mate?'

I've had similar experiences one being I was in the plains at stone bridge and a wolf came up and asked me to be her mate. I said no I'm not looking right now and moved away from the bridge but she followed me and constantly whispered me so I eventually just logged off for the day.  :-\

I never had very many mate beggars, mainly because I'm not in-game that often, and I don't RP anymore.

But even when I RP, I don't do the "mate" thing anymore. Here's why:

Okay, so a couple of years ago, I used to RP alot on Wolfhome. So I had a "mate" named Demonfire (I normally RP'd as a wolf). ..Damn, I was rather naive back then. He kept asking for my personal info. Here's what happened the first time I met Demonfire:

Me: *Randomly sitting in Wolfhome*
Demonfire: *whispers* "Hi Meadowstar. How old are you?"
Me: *whispers back* "I'm not telling you!"

After I spoke with him a little more, he wanted to be my mate... I loved RPing back then, so yeah... Then one day, I asked him how old he was, and he turned out to be a 38 year old pedo (I was only 11 or 12 back then). After I was like "o_o", Demonfire left and I never saw him again. Now if anyone asks me to be their "mate", I will just be like "No. There's a reason I don't have a mate anymore".

So yeah... It was rather disturbing, but that's partially why I don't RP anymore.

But aside from that  on almost every rp ive been in , or rp site or chat rp ite  , for some reason girls wanted to be my mate. i guess they like my  personality  or the fact that  once i told one girl in some rp  who's character my charaters was in love with   my father used to be a   superstar back in the 90's , not gonna say who though or which band ,     people will troll me. Any who   i don't really mind doing mates but if you're fallowing  me like joe joe the hobo  stalker ,    please LEAF ME A LOON.  there's this one girl that acted the same  as joe did , drama went down when she saw one of my characters doing stuff with this other girl on entirely different site we just happened to both play.        ( not gonna go into detail for the sake of the children , XD floof )     anyway after that , i decided  to well take a break from rp. i came back and decided to start doing mates again , currently all is well with my characters  , and so i say this to everyone reading  :  as long       as thy aren't planning to meet up with thous fellow rp'ers  in real life , thy hath no problem and should if thy wish do mates in rp   , tis it doesn't matter if thou  is dating a much older  or younger character , as long as thy isn't meeting with them and they can rp well and not stalk you. I saw one person that I think was trying to get Red to be his mate or something even though he was a tiny green wolf who's name was Creeper, which matched him perfectly.  It went something like this,
<Wolfstar[me]> Oh look I have found the rare Red!
Red walks passed people and they start babbling about him and stuff.  This little green wolf walks right behind him.
<Creeper> I am your biggest fan and I'll follow you until you love me!
<Red> That didn't sound sexual at all.
I almost fell out of my chair laughing.  Red lays down by the river at SB and puts on some kind of sleeping emote.  Creeper starts doing a dance beside him.  I leave FeralHeart because I had to do something and when I came back on well...
<Wolfstar> You are still here!
<Creeper> Yup!
<Wolfstar> It has been a whole half a hour!  Why can't just leave Red alone?
Then Creeper starts singing that song again and I leave.

One time I was sitting in Fluorite advertising for my Role Play. This random cat named Angelsong came up and asked to join. I told her I needed a Role Play sample via whisper and she said alright. About three minutes later she whispers me the Role Play sample, now I was pretty impressed and said "Great job, welcome to the family!" She put a smiley face and a heart and I'm thinking "o.o Please let that be for someone else..." Well it wasn't and we were all sitting there derping around as usual and she comes and "sits in my lap". What made it ten times more awkward was my mate was sitting next to me. My mate whispers me seseeming pretty pissed. I then say in group it's time to head to the map! When we get there we start Role Playing and it started out with me and my mate sharing some prey. Angelsong runs up and says OOCly, "Hey ---- what are you doing with my mate!?" Half the clan looks up and one of my close friends politly says that me and Speckleheart have been mates sense the Role Play started. Angelsong looks at me and says, "After all I did for you!? You cheat on me with this ugly ---!? I am pregnant with your kits!!" I am sitting there like, "What...?" The brand new members I just recruited for about 2 hours call me "Just a cheating guy!"  And leave the group. My mate then looses connection and Angelsong looks at me and says, "Now you have to be my mate because I am having your kits!" I sit there, look at Rippletail, he whispers me and I block her, unfriend her, kick her, and talk to the map maker who comes over and blocks her from the map. I lost thirteen members and my mate... Why do they do this? I dont know if this is off topic or not but it seems like it was on topic and I should share it to all you who might have had the same problem.

This is in no way off topic, that was indeed a mate-begger that set you up. She set you up like that to make it look like you were a cheater and a liar. I hate it how someone could ruin a roleplay and friendships like this. Something like this happened to me in a roleplay, but all my roleplaying friends knew the truth.

Sorry to hear that this happened to you. It goes to show you how low some players will go to take someone elses mate. They will go so low as to spread lies and false accusations. When it happens to someone in the real world, it could ruin a good relationship, it could ruin a marrige, and ruin someone's reputation.

Okay, so I have a rogue character for Warrior Cats roleplays. He roams around as a rogue cat but also lives with Wildstar and her ShadeClan clanmates. Well, his history story was that he was a clan cat that came from an alley cat clan in New York City. That's all dandy and all, BUT some she-cat characers would come join our roleplay and a few of them would claim to be from New York City too. They pretty much did that so they could have something in common with Burgundy, so they chose to be from the same hometown as he was. When this one so-called NYC she-cat came along into our RP, Burgundy was already mates with Wildstar's daughter, Rosefire. But this she-cat who claimed to be from NYC wanted Burgundy to be her mate instead of being mates with Rosefire. She said to me OOC "Aww come on Burgundy, be mates with my character! I luv want you so much!" But I told her "I can't I'm already mates with Rosefire. I'm arealdy paying kit support" (I said that last part as a joke, and everyone around us went "XD") but the she-cat was all like "-.-" Then Wildstar said "He's going to stick with my daughter and take care of that kit, or else!" So eventually the she-cat started getting all gloomy and depressed, and refused to speak to Burgundy. She eventually left the clan.

I was glad she didn't pull the "I'm pregnant with your kits" bit. That would have really ticked me off. However, she wasn't the last she-cat to come to the clan and tell everyone that she was a NYC cat too. So after hearing 3 other NYC cat stories, I was all like "That's IT! Burgundy is no longer from New York! From now on, he is from New Orleans!" so I changed his background story.

Yeah, I had to leave the Role Play for being called a cheater, two-faces, backstabbing tom. I eventually couldnt take it and let Rippletail take over my position as leader. The thing that sucked is  that everyone who didnt know the truth told all new members. I couldn't even talk to females OOCly and all the males with mates hated me. I left FeralHeart for a month and made a new account. So far, I have been able to avoide mate beggers.

It's pretty bad that the clan members would tell the new members things that weren't even true. This is why I don't believe everything people tell me. It's all a "he said" "she said" rumor kind of thing that can ruin someone. Unless I was there to see the whole story and know the full truth, I won't pick sides or say ANYTHING.
They say there are 3 sides to a story; on one side there is one side of the story, on the other side there is someone elses side of the story, and in the middle lies the truth (what really happened). If I don't know the truth, I won't pass judgement.

I am now very strict with rules for Role Plays I create. I only join clans with strict rules and if they arent strict enough for my liking then I leave. Others say it sounds harsh but I dont want to get so harassed I cant talk to anyone. That is my own opinion on it.

Well, I used to RP lots, and back when I did I would sometimes be a male. A few weeks ago, actually, I was RPing as a male panther with my friend Borra. Her character was a tigress and we paired the two together, making them mates and they currently have cubs. When Borra went brb, this is what happened.

Me: *Sitting next to Borra*
Diemund F Panther: *Walks up to me and sits*
Me: Hi? o3o
Diemund: WIL U B MY MATE?
Me: Eh, I have one.
Diemund: WHO NO
Me: Ya, Mwepesi. (Borra)
Diemund: THAS A DUDE AND TUGER UR GAY
Me: No, I'm not.... Mwe is a girl, and so what if shes a tiger?
Diemund: U R UGLY *Runs off*

 About 5 minutes later she comes back with another panther, but named differently.

Sora F Panther: *Walks up to me* B my mate?
Me: Uh, no, sorry Diemund
Sora: *Breaks Xeon's (me) neck and eat mate and cubs and jumps off cliff die.*

Borra comes back right before that happened, and was like, wtf. o3o

Dark, I've been in your situation before.
I had a male warrior cat, and he had a mate. They were mates for a long time, and then something happened.
A female she-cat just comes up, gets into the clan and starts cuddling by my male cat. Then she gets closer and closer to me and starts saying. "You like me? I like you." I nicely passed and said: "I'm taken, sorry."
But she kept it up!
"Come on.. ditch her. I'll be here and we can have thousands of kits. Come onnn..."
My leader was also backing me up, but then she was like. "Is this your business?"
Sadly the leader didn't want to risk any cat leaving. So she stayed silent.

When we were at the map, my mate greeted me. Even me and my mate were sleeping together, and then the she-cat comes and lays by me, saying: "Why are you by my love?"
I was like: "WTF!"
My mate was like: "Excuse me? We've been mates for awhile now. Leave us alone."
I then asked the she-cat to go away, but she stayed. She then started saying "I love you." "-she licks his cheek-" and that stuff. I said to please back off but she stayed.

My mate ended up ignoring me and getting another mate. They all believed that I was cheating on her. I then left the clan but still keep in contact with my leader.

I get mate begged just about everyday. I must make rely attractive characters or something. It really bothers me, just like yesterday the South Pole Hunters wouldn't leave me alone because I left their group and called them illiterate. But back to the topic. Mate begging is annoying and I go offline sometimes just because they won't leave me alone. Couple days ago, I got whispered by FOUR people asking to be alpha female. -,- Seriously? And like you other guys have said same things have really happeneded to me. ;-; It really freaks me out and scares me sometimes when they mate beg. ;-;

I haven't really had any mate begging experiences yet, (that I know of o.o) but I have had three characters instantly say their character had a crush on me, moments after I join the group on a male character. After a week or two of Rping I eventually gave in to one of them and they became my mate, which actually wasn't bad at all. To my surprise though...the next day we had a litter of kittens o3o I would've been fine with this had she asked, but I didn't have the heart to tell the characters who were my children to leave. I've had one other experience where a male wolf asked to be the Alpha male, which I politely declined and he just accepted it  and carried on RPing. Neither of them really begged to be my mate, but to me if two characters were mates IC, they aren't mates OOC anyways.

Once apon a time this happened: Sitting around Flourite and someone runs right up to me named guess what. Phantomess. They claim they are a coyote and had no idea I existed, prior to meeting me... Seems Legit. I love to troll these people so it went like this: Phantomess: Be my mate?  Me: No. Phanomess: Please? Me: No. Phantomess: Please? Me: Yes. Phantomess: Really? Me: No. After this they left, and started flirting with my friend.

Ah, the mate beggars. They're so annoying, but in an endearing way. I had a hilarious experience this morning.


So it all started when I whispered my friend, asking if she wanted to be "undercover noob" with me. She said yes, and we went to BI to mate. So we used bad grammar, chat speak, etc. Then I ditched her and went to find someone else. I was all like, kira I hate u. u r a bad m8. -kills kira and rips out throat- We started laughing so hard.... So then I asked her, "Hey, wanna make a mate center and make drama? So I did. It was hilarious.

MATE CENTERF (me): ALL WOLVES/LIONS COME TO THE CENTER OF THE ISLAND!
mistur srs [username contained for privacy] has arrived.
mistur srs: hey babe want 2 b my waif
MATE CENTERF: No, sorry, I'm not currently looking for a mate.
mistur srs: But we cud b happy!
Me: Sorry, but no. I help people get mates. You can stay here and look for one.
mistur srs: -Buttswings in my direction-  ur pretty.
Me: Please leave, Mister.
mistur: its mistur! not Mister. y u so mean!
By then my friend and I were cracking up.

Oh my gosh, this reminds me of something that happened awhile.

I was in Flourite, sitting around on one of my lionesses and roleplaying when suddenly this random white tiger comes up to me:

White M Tiger- Hai wana b mah tigah m8?
Me: You've must've made a mistake m'dear. For one, I'm a lioness. Two, I'm not a tiger. The answer is no.
White M Tiger- But, i luve u
Me: I don't even know you
White M Tiger- we pl8ed in the nuzey togeha as cubz
Me: Once again, I don't know you. That never happened.
White M Tiger- Fine bby, brak up wif meh. I dun luv u anywz. -claws and kills noe miss dodg-
Me: Okay, that's just immature. -blocks-

I'm not a fan of mate beggers xD I feel they just want someone to attach themselves to. Which is fine, however... there are better ways to go at it in my mind.

But she didn't. She went to another cub and look at what happened:
<violet f tiger> i see how it is =(
she walks away and then comes back.
<violet f tiger> he's mine!
<Blaire> ...Uh, jealous much?

And it went on and on lol!

Tell me about it. I remember once i downloaded a gamer map and i said in general. "TAKEN BY -User here- FOR THIS JOKER" Then  i went to rp and i went to this den thing and a werid kid who was pink and thinking "Oh all i need to do is name my self EDI" Then walked up to me and did cute smile.
Me: Hi there...
Pink EDI: B my matE?
Me: What???? First of all you dont look like someone with logic 2nd there is no 'mate'
Pink EDI: FINE FINE FINE! IMCRY IN REL LIF!! IMA KIL MY SELF!
Me: e.o Dude...
Pink EDI: *kills self*
Me: .-.

Well, as far as a mate begging or just begging in general going to far like that, it is relatively common in any gaming platform. Sadly, this is even more common with role-playing games. Some individuals who play these types of games that it too seriously especially in a RP session. I see this many times:

Friend: -does rp post-
Their mate: Wana be real mates, like ooc?
Friend: ??

OR

Me: -does rp post-
Partner: -makes a face-
Me: [Are you alright?]
Partner: [Do you really love me like that?]
Me: -starts to get nervous OOC-
Partner: [Tell me! Or I'll stab myself]

Unfortunately, their threat to themselves really happened and they were sent to the hospital afterwards. -was stalked for the next few weeks-

Things like this is just the inability to separate real-life and a simple game. Although, I will also see for some people who believe that the cyber-world is the exact same thing in the real-world, nothing different at all. And with this in mind, it confuses others as well as disturb the person who are playing as their partner.

    Angel Doe: Sits not far from Rocket.~

May I share a story?

I had just made my character Faia F lie down on her side in Ficho Tunnel, and opened up another window to research something. When I returned, I found a male German Shepherd character resting beside my character with his head on her flank. I checked the chat log and found what the stranger had said to my character:

Hey Faia wanna be my mate?
WANNA BE MY MATE
I'll take the silence as a yes
You're my mate now.

How forceful  >:(  I got up, told him I didn't know him and moved to another area of the public maps.
And I'm keeping a closer eye on my FH window from now on.

D--> Wow. She actually did that to herself? If that really did happen, I gotta say that's when matebegging really REALLY goes too far. What drives a person to do something so stupid? But I guess you're right when you say that some people can't separate real life with a game.

D--> It reminds me of a story I heard on the radio one time. This young man was relaxing in his appartment, when he heard his nextdoor neighbor screaming. The guy thought his neighbor was being robbed, or attacked, because it sounded like he was screaming bloody murder. So the guy went over to go see what was wrong, and found his neighbor screaming at the top of his lungs while playing World of Warcraft. He was screaming because he was so into the game. The young man tried to console him and told him "Calm down, dude. It's only a game." But then the neighbor pulled out a knife, stabbed him in the stomach, and said, "It's NOT JUST A GAME! IT'S MY LIFE!!". The gamer guy got arrested, and his neighbor who went in to see if he was alright was sent to the hospital. It just amazes me how some people can get so sucked into the virtual world of gaming.

D--> Getting back on subject now. I've only expereinced a mate-begger once, so far. She asked me, "do you have a mate?" and I said no. Then she said, "Can we be mates?" I politely said to her, "No thanks. I'm not looking for a mate." Luckily she didn't throw a big cap-raging fit over it, but said "Okay". Then she moved on to someone else, and then someone else, and so on.

Ok so this is waht happened just today. Im on my charecter, Zippy, and she was just sitting there because I was whispering my friend. I obviously wasn't paying attention and when I actually looked back at my screen I saw this male sitting right infront on Zippy. This is what happened:
Scar M: hi
Zippy: Hello?
Scar M: want to be my m8
Zippy: Um no, sorry.
Scar M: -walks away sad-
Zippy: -continues whispering my friend then Scar M comes back-
Scar M: why dont you love me?
Zippy: I never said that, I just wasn't looking for a mate at the moment
Scar M: -snaps her neck and kills-

And so on. They always make me feel quilty because I said no. I mean, calm yourself child, it's just a game.  :P

Python: Uh, hello.
Girl: -flips mane- im bored
Python: I'm sorry, I don't know what to say. Hold on, are you... Flirting with me?
Girl: maybeeeee um, no..... yeah....
Python: I'm sorry, I'm not looking for a mate right now.

And luckily they just said okay, they didn't freak out or anything.

Well, there was this one time, I was in Party chat, and had Local turned off until one of my friends notified me of the mate beggar.

<Party> Wolfie (Me): -Casually role-playing-
<Party> Black M: Hey, Wolfie, don't look now, but I think you have a suitor in local.]]
<Party> Wolfie: Hmm? Orlly? -Turns on Local-
<Local> Wolfie: How may I assist you, sir?
<Local> Dawn M: oh hi i thaught u were never gong 2 talk 2 me
<Local> Wolfie: :3 Why would I never talk to you; you seem cool~
<Local> Dawn M: tank u hay wolfie do u hav a mate?
<Local> Wolfie: . . . Well, no.
<Party> Wolfie: Black, Canada, he's wondering if I have a /mate/.
<Party> Canada: ... Hmm, how can you have a mate? You're a human girl.
<Party> Black: ^ What Canada said.
<Local> Dawn M: do u want 2 b my mate?

Then he disconnected, and came back to "kill" me. Then was blocked, by multiple people. -Le sigh-
