Title: A version for FH with ambient objects/terrain
Post by: Vwang on August 21, 2016, 12:29:29 am
This would be pretty nice for an update Here's the suggestion
If you downloaded FH there would be a little folder inside the FH folder saying "Ambient version" And then inside that folder is all the ambient materials and stuff so you could paste them in the media and have ambient realistic terrain and stuff *buuuuuuuut maybe we should leave the downloaded glowing custom objects for a backup in the Ambient version folder*

This sounds like a pretty awesome idea! Though if you are going for a more realistic look on FeralHeart, there are tons of ENB mods that could help ya achieve that look. Still would be an awesome idea to try and implement in future updates though~

*points at my antivirus* Norton wouldn't get me the ENB mod no matter what I do (Disable it, Restore it)

This would definitely be a nice idea, though I'm not sure this would be possible the way the staff are updatin' without the source code.

Protip: Destroy Norton.
Never used it or any antivirus. Never had problems. Just don't click on suspicious things and that's really it.
Also AdBlock. A miracle.?

ANYWAY,
I do believe the current version of Ogre that FH utilizes doesn't allow for dynamic ambient lighting on terrain. I could be wrong, but I know IT didn't, and FH wasn't far off from that. The best bet is outside shaders, like ENB and SweetFX.

Probably not. A lot of people can be tricked into thinking that it actually does something. Most often it just causes problems for things like trying to mod games n whatnot.
But again, I've never used anything like it, and never had any problems. AdBlock keeps all the ad-overload crap off my pages, and Windows Defender will find anything that's truly terrible.

But now I'm getting off-topic.

I actually have a graphics overhaul in the works, which makes all objects, character models, etc, ambient. The problem comes in the terrain, which unfortunately does not work with the ambient code thus far.

This does sound like an interesting idea.

A bit off topic, @Ruby1234

Are you using just using the normal SweetFX 1.5 injector or ReShade?

ReShade 1.1.0 with SweetFX 2.0!

I'm trying to get it out quickly, but with the update, I have a ton more work to do. I'm really trying for it to be out by the end of the year though. ^^'

My mod doesn't require it to work, so that's fine. The objects will still work.

I dont think this thing has something with the source code. I dont know it probably edits all the materials

What type of sweetFX is that?

To get SweetFX to work, download the latest version from http://reshade.me and launch the ReShade setup. Select FeralHeart.exe and choose which renderer you are using. After that, launch the game and see if you get the little ReShade message. If you do, then you are good to go. You should see a folder called SweetFX in your FH folder. Go inside and edit the file named SweetFX_settings.txt and mess around with it to make your own config.

No, no. It's not an installer. That is what the file is called. Everything is in a compressed file. Just extract it with WinRAR or 7zip and everything you need will be in there.

ReShade Setup is an application that helps you inject ReShade into a game. You launch it, choose the game, choose what it is rendering in, then launch the game.
