Title: fangs, and fur movement
Post by: wolfshae on July 19, 2011, 05:40:37 am
Well really my input is to have the felines/canines fur able to move around when walking or running, and the fangs should have options of them being longer..as some ppl like to make saber tooth tigers...and tail movement as they stand still like. Ex..-she is happy to see her long time friend and shows that by wagging her tail-

I appreciate the idea, but my belief is that moving fur would be extremely hard and painful to make if they were to move realistically. Length of fur would have to be taken into consideration too...

Yeah. Kov and Raz already had a discussion about realistic fur, aka HAIR-fur on the model. But Kov sed it would be absolutely a lagg-overkill xD Plus this Fur is not able to be inserted into the Ogre System, which FH is based on.

Fangs would be nice, i agree, Sabertooth i tried to mesh but i failed epicly due to the fact that i cant add them to the bodys lol

I'd really like a fang option, but I see the issues with the more realistic fur. Perhaps some more texture would be a nice substitute.

The fur as kovu said, would be a major lagg. Though I do think it is a great idea. Now the canines/fangs idea I love, my fursona (who is the main charrie I play) has very long canines and it's a pain drawing them on presets, ya'know?

:U My comp cannot handle the lag-tastic trolling of realistic fur.
Tried that on a game my brother made(deleted cause it made everybody lag alot),and my comp froze and crashed with the blue screen of death.

Fangs=Yes. Wounds want >:U
(That will solve 2 items from IT /shot)

Fangs don't exactly equal items Icewolfpup, I mean they were in IT but they're really just part of your character
and I think it's be cool to have that for an option, it's add more variety

im not sure about fur, but fangs or even just being able to adjust the size of them manually in the character making menu
(ex.)
head size
muzzle size
ear size
teeth size?

i really wasnt sure how to explain it :P

^ This.

Realistic fur takes an UNGODLY amount of time to even render to see in something like Blender 3D. What would happen if it was put in a game? We would all die |D

However there's the possibility to make the manes we already have move [not fluffy ones], but that would result in adding bones to the models' skeletons and adding their movements to the animations. The challenge is that the manes are different styles and would move differently, so setting up the bones that could be used for *all* manes/tufts would be a problem.

o3o

Realistic fur can also = texture on a UV map.

XD i thought i already commented on this thread, i wouldn't mind fangs, because i am JUST starting out at presets and i am now just starting to get fur texture into the preset without messing with those codes or layers XD (O.o my volume turn down on my keyboard makes c's come up when i try to turn it down)

i think the fur is realistic enough. fangs (or tooth size) would be pretty cool though
