The roleplay has officially opened! (Well, it has been for a day or two, I was just too lazy to update this woops) High ranks and staff positions are still open and will remain opened until they are filled.

3
The Mara Pack has been closed until an Alpha and other members are found. The roleplay will be starting sometime in the next few days, so if you were thinking of apply early do it now!

Asura Arising is the "redone" version of the old pack(s), The Three Packs of the Lost Lands. That was shut down about two months ago. Things have changed since last so if you are a returning member please check out the site for changes. I have also taken on a new character. Look out because there is a plot coming up that I never ended up implementing in the old version. My first priority, for now, is looking for people to first fill out the roles of Alpha for the packs. I am accepting people to act as moderators for the site and the thread to help out as well, i.e. making sure rules are followed, accepting new members, etc. If you wish to be a moderator please say so in your character application along with whether you wish to be one for the site or this thread.

DISCLAIMER: I am not the owner of this roleplay, I am merely posting this ad here because the owner doesn't have an account. If you are interested please make an application on the WOLFQUEST forums so they may reply.
From this point on the ad is slightly changed and shortened in areas. View the original ad as well as apply here -> http://www.wolfquest.org/bb/viewtopic.php?f=50&t=80718.

Asura Arising
 Among the Land of the Lost three packs thrive and flourish. While they abide by differing codes, celebrate separate holidays and obey unique traditions the packs, Mara, Feron, and Hausen, are all unified through their deep rooted history. For now a peace settles over their territories, but how long will it last?
The arrival of a strange fourth pack threatens to throw the long kept balance. Or perhaps not.
Decide for yourself. Join the four and paint the future for all wolves.

Pack Guidelines
1. Follow Wolfquest rules
2. Be respectful of others
3. Keep your wolf realistic, no neon colors or powers
4. Be active and have fun

-The Mara Pack-
M = 0

--CLOSED until an Alpha is found--
These wolves of the plain occupy the southern most territory, utilizing only the native tall grass as cover. Prey here is quick footed and requires a speedy canine in order to catch it, thus this pack tends to appear more sleek and slender than the others, with lighter pelts. Good thing too, as no protection from the sun makes the plains the hottest territory of the three. A medium-sized lake centered in the area provides the only water source.
The densite is eastward of this lake, concealed within a dip in the terrain. The dens themselves are crafted from dugouts provided by previous residence or by the pack themselves when the need arises. The council room is situated in the center of the dip and is big enough to accommodate the needed amount of wolves.

-The Feron Pack-
M = 1

This pack resides in the northeast forest with a small pond located in the western portion. Temperatures here are more mild with the trees able to block the worst of the heat and shelter against the chilling cold. Prey found here is a mixture of what can be found in the plains and the mountains.
The densite is situated in the center of the territory, being a mix of caves and burrows created from cavities in tree roots. The council room is southeast of the den, hidden within a thicket of brambles that surrounds a large enough clearing. Two openings on either side mark the entrances.

-The Hausen Pack-
M = 2

The Hausen claim the territory in the northwest, a sprawling expanse of mountainous terrain. A stream runs from the peaks, providing water for the creatures of the hills and also feeds the pond of Feron territory and the lake belonging to the Mara pack. A decent amount of cover is provided to the residents and the prey is notably tougher to catch due to unfavorable conditions. Hunters must be skilled enough to take down their quarry without injuring or killing themselves.
The densite is west of the mountain stream, made up of a system of caves. The council room is located to the northeast in a larger cave overlooking these dens. Although it cannot be expanded it's already big enough to fit the entire pack.

{Alphas} ONE left, must be EARNED ; {Betas} BOTH OPEN ; {6/7 Leads} OPEN
(Look in the original ad for the other ranks and descriptions)

-The Rilar Pack-
M = 2

The Rilar pack is the aforementioned fourth pack, relatively new to the Land of the Lost. Unlike most this pack is essentially made up of rogues that are allowed to wander the territories of Mara, Feron, and Hausen as well as any neutral or unclaimed lands on the agreement they cause no trouble and be hired out for work if needed. Rilar members are differentiated from other rogues wolves via specially made markings usually a red or orange color. The more elaborate the mark the higher the ranking of the wolf.
In a sense they do have a territory, it just happens to move around as they do. The Rilar have four densites and training grounds, the current season dictating which they occupy, however their locations are unknown by any of the Three.

{Alphas} ONE left, must be earned ; {Betas} BOTH OPEN ; {3/4 Leads} OPEN

Game Help / How to get different water levels in one map?
« on: November 03, 2013, 11:12:48 pm »
Okay, so imagine Ficho Tunnel's height map. How there's water one the upper level and water on the lower level, but the map doesn't flood.

How do I do that for my own map? I want to have a waterfall going from one small lake to another, but I can't do that without flooding my map :c. Does anyone know how to do that?

I probably didn't describe this as well as I could've, so if you can understand it, great! If not I'll try my best to explain it better.

Game Discussion / Re: Your First Ever Character
« on: November 03, 2013, 04:31:55 am »
My first character was Dark Shadow, she was all black, with a white tail tip, and a very pink nose. Which I was ridiculed over time and time again. Her eyes were red as were her markings; spiral for head and body, and something else I can't remember the name for her tail. No manes of any sort also.

As yes, she wasn't quite the looker, nor was she friendly, but I loved Dark Shadow. Unfortunately her character was accidentally deleted and I have yet to recreate her. Soon though.

Forum Discussion / Re: Story Behind Your Username

Well, at the time I really liked the color blue (though purple is my favorite color) and I still do like it. Also I just finished reading/watching the first act of Homestuck and the only thing I could think of right then was just about the blue apple John was saved with. Then bam Blue Apples was born. And I wouldn't change that name for anything.

Forum Discussion / Re: Male Or Female Characters?
« on: November 02, 2013, 06:16:41 pm »
I, like most other girls who've replied here, lean toward having more males characters than females. Though my reasoning for this is a little different. I don't know if its just me who thinks this way but I view girls, both in game and in real life, as being snotty and stuck up and just generally being b*tchy. (I know it isn't true of most girls actually!) And guys are just the nice middle ground where they go from being rich and stuck up to down to earth, being bad to being the nicest people ever. So yeah, most of my characters are now males.

But there is another reason, and I'm sure most others have experienced this. Most packs/clans/whatever have a lot of girls in them and very few guys. So to even things out I'd usually create a male character to help beef up the guy's side.

Plus its just really funny to watch girls I hardly know fight over my character. What a sick sense of humor I have.

What would those times be for Eastern Standard Time? I'm thinking about joining as a wolf/husky mix or something like that, that is if this other roleplay doesn't accept me.
