Introduction / Re: New! Looking for roleplay buddies
« on: November 02, 2015, 12:20:09 pm »
Hello! Welcome, hope you're enjoying the game as much as I am! ;D If you see me in game and want to roleplay, don't hesitate to whisper. I'm usually not busy, I mostly hang out and watch the chaos in Bonfire, lol.

Check out my character thread, I have three characters: Anza, Tulvir, and Roth. If you see one you think you'd like to Rp with more, just let me know. ^ ^

Game Discussion / Re: Why's BonFire Island so populated?
« on: October 29, 2015, 09:49:21 am »
Hey! I saw you two earlier, but I didn't say hi, lol!  ;D

Considering everyone else's answer, it makes sense why it's popular. Although, for me, I did my share of exploring. The first place I discovered was the South Pole, but there were so few people around and they were not very chatty. I quickly grew bored and moved on. After going straight to Bonfire, it was apparent how popular the location was from all the chatter and active users. I tried exploring all of Flourite, but I was disappointed to discover that it was nearly impossible to find other users (who were active or at least not just standing/lounging around). Though it looks nice and has a lot of ideal Rping locations, it's too huge. Because of this, Bonfire is now one of the first places I go to when I log in.

However, I do have my... grievances. [[Feel free to tl;dr, lol!]]

It's a very small island (too small to act "natural" IC all the time), what I spot in the chatterbox is mainly OOC or grouped Rps (some of which deal with a lot of OOC drama because of that single person that one or two group members have a problem with), MCs or ACs popping up, and the occasional rule breakers that just love mating in front of everyone (including children, because those people have forgotten that a large group of users are not even out of middle school. Heck, they're probably in grade school, too, and yet subject us to their inappropriate acts of "love." I don't care how old they are, they know better, most can comprehend algebra at this point).

However, this is just the Rper side griping because it doesn't want to go back to group roleplays. Too much responsibility and I'm a grown woman who just wants to play a large cat prowling the... the... whatever environment Flourite is supposed to be--savanna?--and it would be nice to see someone spot that and react accordingly. No pretense, just natural Rper reacting to their surroundings.

Despite all this, I can't seem to stay away from Bonfire. Not enough bad to ruin the good. Personally, as a gamer, I enjoy the rowdiness and randomness. It's entertaining, and you wouldn't even need to say a word to anyone to enjoy it the entire time you're there! Occasionally, you find yourself roleplaying with someone, anyway. A lot of the time it's still rather OOC, but it makes mishaps all the more hilarious and sometimes fun to work with. Again, it's easier to make friends there. Overall, the atmosphere is welcoming and you rarely want to leave to explore other maps without a good reason.

To answer your other question, I always spot canines. Wolves or something of the like. If not them, then lions. Mainly TLK lions. And, lately, I've been spotting more dragons and cougars.

Created two more characters, although they're less official for roleplaying which is why they're here and not in their own thread.

Roth

Tulvir

Pretty character! I think I've already seen her running around in-game c:
^ ^ Thanks! She's such a cutie, I wish I had a plushie or toy (maybe I can buy a blank one to paint, lol! Although, carving it out of wood sounds more fun... hmm... ideas). If you see her hanging around, feel free to interact.

Anza Log #2

One new acquaintance (semi-IC, friended). No enemies. One new friend (mainly OOC). Mate Center was not as entertaining as previous encounters. Found some interest in TLK, but refrained from joining. Enjoyed the chaotic "socializing" and drama of Bonfire Island.

Gender discovered. Female.

Age and other bio information, still unavailable.

Overall, quite eventful.

Good on ya, buddy! ;D Ficho might be a good place to lead the LMC if people try harassing y'all.

If you ever wanna hang out, I'm usually hanging up somewhere near the den on bonfire, watching people be silly or weird. Occasionally, I chill down below, but that's to watch the chaos of MC gatherings, lol.

They're upset for reasons they think they understand. They don't realize what you're trying to do, which, to me, sounds like a great idea. Once I get my character up and running (I've only got a name down, so far), I'd definitely feel more welcome in a LMC than a regular MC (god, those things are barbaric, they're only slightly amusing when the MC host is shouting "WHO WANT SEXY M/F?!??" as if they were hotcakes).

From what I'm reading, it sounds like you're trying to make the matchmaking process more civil or professional. A place where a person's character isn't treated like an object and everyone's given a fair chance to put their best foot paw forward, so to speak. People don't have to pair as mates, but it would be something to consider since it's generally a "mate finder" kind of Center. Again, it sound a lot more welcoming, and as long as it stays that way, newcomers (like me) will always have a safe environment to make new friends and RP buddies (while possibly fetching a potential mate for their OC).

If you're worried about the whole "MC stigma" nonsense, sometimes it's better not to listen to them. If you want to make a difference, keep that foot down and don't let people boss you around. You made it clear that you're trying to help, and if they don't like it, they can bugger off.

If you ever need assistance with your LMC and I happen to be around, send me a whisper. :D
