Discussion Board / I Need Some Advice for Something thats Happened

Its night time, theres a little bit of rain and its a teensy bit chilly. Four tiny kittens have been dumped and abandoned in a bush shrub thing. They were lucky enough to be found by my dads friend, he gave us two and two to our neighbor. They are about less than half a 30 cm ruler.

We dont know where their mum is or if she is alive or missing, we dunno. We have powered milk for kittens and puppies but they wont drink it, im guessing they dont know how to lap properly. They look about 3 weeks old or younger and i have a very good feeling they still need their mothers milk.

Its 11pm and there are no vets around us that would be open, same with any shops that sell pet shops.

Is there anything i or my family could possibly do to help these to unfortunate souls? Help would be very much appreciated, im worried they wont survive the night.

Quite a few people here have converted mesh's, im wondering where these mesh's come from. So if someone would be kind enough to post a link, please? Im curious to know how many 3D models there are on the site, plus i would like to try convert them to .mesh files.

Mapping Tutorials / Is That Portal Too Far Away?

I had to change the second image as tinypic had changed the original image to, well... a goblin... So if you're wondering why it looks different from the rest, that is why.

For those with this problem.....

And that dont know how to fix it, well you came to the right place. I'll be telling you how to make your portal reachable.


Ok firstly open Map Maker and load your map. I'm sure you want a particular spot for your portal, so go there. Go where you want your portal to be. Now place an object, any object maybe a rock like me. Place that rock where you want your portal to be.
Go to the "Controls" tab now and look at the X,Y,Z coordinates for the rock, make sure you have the rock selected.
Remember those coordinates in the red circle blob thing.


Those coordinates need to be typed in here. The rocks X coordinate needs to be typed into the X box. The Y coordinate needs to be in the Y box. The Z coordinate needs to go in the Z box.
Just something you should know but the coordinates will not always fit. So just type in as much as can fit into the box. Its ok if you're missing one number.
This box needs to be checked. It's important, very important. If the box isn't checked there is no portal.
When you have typed in the coordinates click the button "Test" and see if the portals where you want it. The portal will never be exactly where you want it but very near. So its always good to test it. If it needs to come forwards move the rock forwards and type the new coordinates in. If its too far left move the rock into the right and copy the new coordinates.


Now what if the portals faced at the wrong angle? What if its facing upwards too much and not straight ahead. Well face your camera in the direction or angle where you want your portal to be facing. Well what we are doing is changing the Yaw.
See that long box at the bottom of your screen? See that "Yaw:"? Well still facing at the angle/direction with our camera, without moving we need to copy that coordinate.
We will type that coordinate in this box underneath the X,Y,Z coordinates.

Anyway let's click the "Test" button. Is your portal facing the right angle and is in the spot you wanted? It is?! Well congratulations because your portal is now reachable.

Firstly i would like to say..........

1. In Map Maker, if an object has a box collision and you rotate it, the box collision will not rotate with the object. Only the object will rotate not the box collision.

2. Do you think we could add Impressive World manes into Feralheart? They had some really awesome manes, seriously they were just...... epic!

3. I would love to have some rain that would be pouring down really heavily. I can only set the rate to 3000 otherwise the rains just gonna fall and stop fall and stop. 3000 isnt heavy enough, it really isnt. Is there any way we can stop this? Change the rate to 8000 or something and not have the rain stop then start again over and over again?

4. Wouldnt be good to have more than one weather cycle in our maps?

5. The wings need to be, well they need to be changed. They are in bad shape and have bad animation (sorry if thats a bit harsh) they should have a texture like the manes. They dont go pitch black when you change the colour to black, you can still see the texture. Another thing that wings should have is markings. Why dont the wings have markings? They really should. I dont like my wings one whole colour, i would like to have some other colours too.

6. More maps!! I have said this before but the new maps are really not that exciting. They are empty a lot of the time, places like Last Cave and Atlantis are like always empty.

7. Just a question but does anyone know when Movie Maker is coming out?

8. I think Feralheart could do with some more music. More music would be nice ;)

9. Multiple markings. I want to wear that "striped legs" markings but also the "swirl". Wouldnt it be nice if we could use both?

10. Why dont the rocks have "Own Collision" ticked? Why is it just a box collision? It makes things very annoying in Fluorite Plains and such when you cant sit on the rock properly.

11. To make the game more realistic how about we add some sounds to some objects? Add a running waterfall sound to the waterfalls, add a rustling leaves noise to the trees ect ect.

12. Is it possible to wear more than 4 items?

13. I think when the angel wings fold they should be in the shape of the bat wings, or something better at least.

Hopefully there should be more ideas to come sooner or later ^^ Please feel free to post a comment.

Hmmm, im not seeing any other marking threads here so ive got a feeling this is in the wrong place. Please move if it is.

Hello everyone, i present to you some markings that were 100% made by me. I still have more to make before i give a download link but these are the ones already made. I dont plan on making requests so please dont ask. I have only created markings just recently so dont expect anything really amazing.

Download is finally up! I took a very long break from making markings and decided to stop. There isnt too many new markings, especially for the tail. The only marking i decided to leave out of the download is the Feathers, mainly because it doesnt look like feathers and its awful. If anyone does want it though just let me know. Ouuka has asked to use these markings in a large markings pack, if you see these markings in that pack you'll know who made them ;)

Rules

1. Please, do NOT claim any of these markings! Did you make them? NO! This is the most important rule!
2. Do NOT edit these markings!
3. Sharing the download link is fine as long as its the same bundle and not a separate download with markings taken out.

Game Help / Map Maker Crashes Because of One Map

Well i made this map and everything was working fine. I used a lot of downloaded objects by the way. I dont why this happens but i have experienced this problem before. The computer screen freezes and a few seconds i get this blue screen error, its not a FH error but an actual computer error. So as usual the computer would restart itself afterwards and i can continue whatever i was doing previously.

Ok so i go onto FH but it crashes so i re-install whilst moving my maps, objects ect onto the desktop. FH opened afterwards and i was able to continue but turns out now Map Maker is crashing. I go onto that map folder and check for anything wrong. I decide to move it out of the FH folder to see if it makes a difference and it does, Map Maker now works perfectly.

I think ill just skip to my problem now.

I moved the [MAPSNAME]Objects.cfg file onto desktop and Map Maker worked and my map was working but was missing the objects. Is there any way i still use that .cfg file or do i have to place all the objects back to where they were before?

Game Help / Items are Huge!!

Well i decided to make some items last night. So what i did was import either the feline or canine mesh into Blender and began creating an item on it. My first mesh was finished so i deleted the model and exported it. I loaded Preset Maker and tried on the item and it was the exact same size and angle as the one in Blender which was great.

So i made another item using the model and program once again. I loaded it in Preset Maker and it was the wrong size, it was huge! I dont get why its different to the first. So i shrank it and exported it again and its the same size still. No matter how much i shrank it in Blender it would still turn out the same size as the first, huge and useless.

What can i do?

Well i have some new mesh's i would like to add to my thread but i get an error like this whenever i click "Modify"

Session verification failed. Please try logging out and back in again, and then try again.

I tried modifying another post and i could. Why cant i modify my post on that thread? Ive already tried the logging in and out but no difference.

Can you open exported files (.fhm, .fho, .fhw, .fhs ect) using the program Notepad? Or will it appear as random symbols, numbers and letters?
