Game Discussion / Re: How was your FHORD experience?
« on: April 13, 2014, 08:05:05 pm »
At first I was super excited to attend, but as I was running around RPing to myself, nothing really seemed different. I went to a lot of different places in case participants were all concentrated in one area, but the number of RPers and non RPers appeared normal. I was a bit disappointed, but I also didn't have very much free time that day, so I think the next one can be better for me. o3o

Game Discussion / Re: Naming your Characters
« on: March 08, 2014, 10:41:24 pm »
I usually name my characters after words in vague foreign languages. .w. I used to like Gaelic (e.x. my wolf character Reithe, which means "ram" after his horns), and I still kind of do, but now I'm more into Ainu (e.x. my pampas fox Shinnam, "coldness" since I created him for the holiday party a few months ago). Other times I name them after obscure songs or song lyrics, or I look at a name-picking website for random inspiration. But I particularly like the foreign languages, yes.

Game Discussion / Re: A guide to wolfspeak and why you shouldn't use it
« on: January 07, 2014, 02:45:00 am »
A while ago I overheard an RPer calling a group of deer "pigmented masses of bones." Now I'm confused. I mean, I know deer have bones, but... they have muscle and skin and organs, too. D: They're more than just colored bones... Is this a normal wolfspeak thing or am I mistaken?

Game Discussion / Re: Who/what made your main character?
« on: December 28, 2013, 03:40:01 pm »
When I first discovered FeralHeart I got carried away with the character designing portion and recreated a lot of old wolf characters I wasn't going to use. At this point I really had nothing to do with them.Reithe, the brown-and-orange magma wolf, got the most compliments, so I ran around as him the most. Oddly enough, after I created him for a roleplay (before I found FH) I barely used him, and now he's practically my second fursona. I don't know, I guess I just kind of picked him randomly...

Screenshots / Moai's Holiday Party 2013 Screenshots!
« on: December 22, 2013, 02:44:14 pm »
Hey again, everyone!

First off, thanks to everyone for making this party such a fun success! C: I had a really great time (and I was actually kind of productive with other things too because I was multitasking...)

Anyway, last party I went to I only took 25 screenshots, so I could fit them all on one post... this time I took a whopping 95. Needless to say, there's no way I'm fitting all of those on one post, so I just picked the best ones.

I logged on to the party map at about 7:00 in the morning my time, just because I was getting too excited for the party to start... and as it turned out there was already a big group of animals there having a pre-party party. :O

Within a couple of hours I had started goofing around with my new friend Chane.

We played some reindeer games...

Including hide-and-seek!

And then it was time for me to break for lunch, and by the time I got back the REAL party had started!

And then the bunny-finding contest! I only found three bunnies before my head started hurting looking for those tiny little rabbits and I had to give up.

Then we had a jumping party!

For some reason when Suragaha jumped up on top of the stereo everyone started trying to eat his butt o_o

Then mistletoe happened.

So we all got really tired and just plopped down where we were.

Shinnam didn't feel like dancing a whole lot more, since he was all worn out from four hours of partying, so he proceeded to wander around suspiciously.

And then the group picture!

Oops, someone move that puppy....

The teddy bear proved less hospitable.

And by that time I was really tired so I left to eat dinner and relax for the rest of the night.

Ahh, that's a hard question. |D I haven't made a whole lot of presets recently, but my favorite one ever is probably the winter-themed preset I just made. I got a lot of inspiration from looking at pictures of frost and ice, and I like how it turned out.

But I also really like my Farran the Grey Mule preset I made a while back. o3o

Game Discussion / Re: Favourite mane?

I like the Eyecover mane for canines and the Center manes for felines. C: I guess these ones just look neatest to me? I'm kind of a neat freak so... ehehe.

Game Discussion / Re: "Rogue" and "Rouge"
« on: September 23, 2013, 12:10:48 am »
Ahaha, I laughed at the picture of the lion with rouge. |D

I've seen this spelling swap for as long as I've been roleplaying (which is about six and a half years now), and it still bothers me a lot but I never mention it, just because like Telepathic-Cecil I don't want to be one of those 'spelling has to be 110% perfect" people.

I still pronounce 'rouge' like that whenever I see it in someone's name...

...but I get happy on the inside whenever I see people say "rogue" instead.

Game Discussion / Re: I Know That, But My Character Doesn't Know Yet
« on: September 09, 2013, 10:54:11 pm »
Oh gosh, this has happened to me before, but I can't think of any specific examples at the moment.

I find this irritating due to the lack of separation between in-character and out-of-character. I don't really know how to word this correctly, but characters don't know things until they experience them. Just because Reithe (my main FH character) starts a conversation with a random lion, he won't automatically know that said lion might secretly be a pyromaniac, or that said lion has a stash of candy hidden at home, because Reithe hasn't been told this yet, even if I in the real world read it in the lion's bio. The reverse is true as well; any random lion who has never met Reithe before won't know he can breathe fire until he actually does so, since the lion has no logical reason to believe that any wolf would be able to breathe fire.

Like if I sign up for a roleplay where you have to fill out character forms and post them, I can read all of the other people's forms who have signed up and keep everything in mind, but that doesn't mean my character automatically has access to all of that information pertaining to the other members of the roleplay. It's like saying Reithe can walk up to aforementioned lion and already know his name even though he's never seen the lion before, just because I read his name in the bio.

Sorry if that doesn't make sense. '^' I guess it's all about separation of knowledge in-character and out-of-character.

(I also feel like mentioning dramatic irony [the audience knows something the character does not], which can contribute to suspense, but I don't really know if that's on topic. |D )

Game Discussion / Re: Making your character
« on: August 04, 2013, 01:27:51 pm »
When I make a new character I usually have a species of animal in mind, although it's not always canid or felid. After I have an animal picked out I arbitrarily decide the colors and design based on what I think looks good, and depending whether the animal has any distinctive markings I may or may not base the markings on those.

Normally I draw my characters to get a feel for their design before I put them on FH. I don't remember anytime recently when I've created a character on FH first.
