Feral Heart

(Sorry about not posting for a bit)

Avalanche gathered his winnings, a rabbit and a crow, and picked up his other winnings from other fights. He trotted back to the alley where he lived. Curling up, Avalanche flopped onto his stomach with a sigh. It was a long night, but he had prey. And to him, that was all that mattered.

Mortikai snorted as cold water pounded his legs. The salmon would be coming up river soon. But not all of them would be coming back. He growled at another Kodiak bear. It snarled at him and left. Mortikai was a powerful bear, and not many challenged him. Suddenly he heard the small pounding of tails and tail strokes. The fish were here. He readied himself, and suddenly hundreds of fish flashed up the waterfall near him. Mortikai caught a large one, and another small one. He walked off with his catches, and placed them on land. Both the fish jumped around for a bit, then died. He tore one open, and gobbled it up. He quickly finished off the other. He ran back to the river, but sadly the fish were gone. He snorted and went upstream to find another waterfall.

A border collie versus a rottweiler. This would be good. Avalanche thought to himself. Rottweilers had powerful jaws, but Bordercollies were swift and agile. Speed against Power. Avalanche picked up a sparrow and walked to the betting corner. Once it was his turn he placed the bird on the counter, "Bet this sparrow for the Rottie." The Irish Setter behind the counter nodded, taking the sparrow and giving him a ticket made from a food wrapper, "Come back here if your bet wins." Avalanche nodded, taking the ticket. He made his way back to his third-row seat. He didn't have to worry about seeing, he was one of the biggest dogs here.

Avalance turned his large head, seeing a bunch of commotion. Standing, revealing his large height, he ran over. When he got closer he saw a small ring had formed. He looked, hoping the judge was too intent on the fight. But the wolf-dog had seen. The judge ran over, "STOP THIS!" He growled. The judge shoved his way through. He went nose to nose with the wolf hound, "First warning. I see any more of this from you, and you are kicked out for the night!" Avalanche wanted to cower in front of the judge's mighty temper. Avalanche backed up.

Braig returned from the hunt. He had not found any prey, sadly. He walked over to Larxene. She loooked up at him happily, and 4 pups were sleeping, crowded on her belly. Braig's jaw dropped, then he trotted over and sniffed each pup. One was dark brown, one was white, one was black, and the last was black with a white dot on her nose. He lay down beside Larxene, "I love them. They are all so pretty." Larxene smiled and licked the four, "I know.. I named the dark brown male Chocolate. And this white one is Ghost, but I haven't named the black ones yet." Braig smiled at the new names. He looked over at the solid black one. He was a big pup. He thought for a bit. He came up with a name, "I will name this big black one, Fang, and this one little she-pup with a white dot on her nose, I will name her.. Callie."
