Oh... this topic again...
I'm probably one of those clan leaders you would all like to point the finger at and say "You're one of those lazy inactive leaders who wasted everyone's time!" If you've ever played as a clan leader, you'll know just how out of hand some of your roleplays get and how frustrating it is trying to find suitable people to join. Let's face it, it's never easy managing a roleplay group... especially warrior clans. I too am one of those "inactive" clan leaders with an inactive clan... I'm not afraid to admit it, and I have a good reason why.

When I first made my warrior clan leader, Pharaohstar, and his clan of PapyrusClan, I thought it was going to be a walk-in-the-park happy joy joy roleplay. I recruited a few good members who were happy to be active with the clan. I had a deputy, who is a good friend of mine from another clan, and I had some active warriors who were really good with fair roleplaying.

What went wrong, you may ask? EVERYTHING went wrong! I did have many members join my clan, but never came back the next day, or any other day. I have recruited some members who looked promising the first time I met them, but they turned out to be nothing but a bunch of powerplayers/godmodders. Some people I recruited wanted to join for the sole purpose of seeking attention from anyone and everyone in the clan. -The kit fell down the hill and broke her paw- "HELP ME! IM HURT!!!" And then there were some I recruited that just turned the roleplay upsidedown by not following the semi-realistic standard, or kept trying to take control of everyone in the group with the "this is now MY roleplay" attitude. There were times when things got so  bad that I lost a few good roleplayers because they were like "I can't beleive you let powerplayers into the group! How could you?!" And so they left the clan and never came back. Even though I kicked the powerplayers out, they still didn't want to come back. The damage was already done.
And of course, there were some who didn't give my clan such a chance, because of the clan's name and the leader's name. Do you have any idea how many people have said, "Your leader name is a fail!" or "You shouldn't even play as a warrior leader with a title like that"? But that's not the worst of it.
Let's not forget the "evil" clans, or wolf packs, that would come around and disrupt our roleplays. While I would be in the middle of something, some random clan would come out of nowhere and start attacking us with their powerplaying. When I asked them to go away, they just ignored me and kept doing what they were doing. Convincing the members of my clan to block them failed most of the time, and they would just complain about powerplaying, throw tantrums, and start saying things that are against Feral Heart rules.

There was a point when I got so fed up with all of it, that I decided to take a break from being clan leader for awhile. I don't like getting involved in disorderly, frustraiting, roleplays where no one wants to stick to the plot of the clan, or getting unwanted attention from other clans. So as of right now, my clan is inactive and will stay inactive until I feel like I can find some suitable people who will take the whole clan roleplay a little more seriously. I'm still somewhat active with my Pharaohstar character, but it's rare for me to use him.

So for those who say that clan leaders should be more active, maybe there is a reason why they had to quit. With them being a clan leader, everyone around them is begging to get their attention, too many people to handle, too much drama to handle, and so on. So it's true that leading a clan isn't always easy. Let's leave it at that.

PharoahStar. (This is ShadeStar of Sinclan by the way. I've seen you at Gatherings o:) I also have those situations. The main clan that interrupts my RP is ShatteredClan. Very famous with their leader DeathStar who interrupted mostly everyone's RP and caused members to leave. If you have stress like that then 1. You can turn of Group or Local.  2. Ignore the Attention Seekers. (Yes it would cause them to leave but it reduces LOADS of stress.)  3. Make sure you ignore the people who attack your clans. You can simply move camps or just tease them to the point where they are sick of it.  4. Never stress in front of a clan. It shows a symbol of weakness that your stress to easily and can be taken controlled over.  5. If someone tries to ruin and turn YOUR RP into THEIRS then you show them YOU are the boss. You can show them that by kicking. Yes most will think it's a bad choice. But would you rather be the leader of a clan with someone taking over and making you watch helplessly? Or kick them and show them you are the one who decides where your RP goes, and how it leads until your death.

Now I have some tips on being a good leader. Some may help or some of them needs to be more adjusted. (Adjusted? Wtf am I thinking right now XD) 1. We all know the "Can I be deputy?" Related questions. Here is one thing you can do. Put up in your group bio "!!DON'T ASK ABOUT DEPUTY!!" It always helps me :3. 2. When you start a clan always make sure it's literate to strictly literate. It's most likely that semi-lit clans fail more easily due to the lack of RP skills. 3. People lie when they say they are literate. When you want to avoid that, make sure to tell them to do an RP sample. Take no mercy, if they fail tell them no. 4. If you are starting to get raged try turning local or group off and take a little break. 5. Make sure not to just throw out high ranks to some random clan member or someone who wants to join so they could have that certain rank, the problem with that is because when you die your deputy will take charge and form that clan, when choosing a deputy make sure they are wise and good, if you choose someone who doesn't RP correctly, illiterate, and just abandons their clan then your clan could fail and may work it's way into the really bad clan history which the number one clan ShatteredClan holds the record as the worst and most hated clan (It's actually true) of the list with their leader Deathstar(F). Well for now that's all I can think of concerning the most issues clan leaders or clans have. Check back and list some problems you have and I can give some tips. Hope this helped! ~? DarkBloodLight ?~. ~Make sure to check back with anymore concerns or you just need to get out stress!~

@TheWarrior.
I must say I really agree. I was once a leader and I was sitting at the Stone Bridge and a leader was taking the members. One of them was going to ask me because they walked towards me then noticed I had one or two members, then they easily turned their back and went to the large clan. One of my hates is when they constantly ask about the deputy and if they may have that rank. I don't just give out ranks when I want to. I must make a clan meeting and give the rank to the rightful cat who may take the name deputy. Another one of my hatreds is when Clans constantly attack you or when leaders lose more then 9 lives and make up some random reason. Ex. I got an extra one from StarClan! Completely not real. The thing is they just didn't want to die.

Here is where you can tell about your clan, how they are doing, stress in your clan, and many more.
