Game Help / map terrain mask strange transition

No matter what I do, my terrain mask has this lighten transition between the textures and it's slightly infuriating. If I blur the color out in the mask, it spreads the "lighten" transition out. I've made sure all my textures are similar in saturation/color, yet this still happens with every one I make.

Does anyone know what could be causing this?

I absolutely love this idea! FH is such a community-driven game, and letting us the players input our ideas rarely goes wrong.

For an example, I'd just like to mention Lioden. Like FH, it's a largely community-driven game where staff regularly input the community's favorite ideas. There's an entire board dedicated to letting the community voice their ideas on what new features there should be, and each post has a "support or do not support" button at the end. Additionally, each week with the news they publish a poll on odd topics, such as what a marking should look like or what should they add in the next event.

Do I think we should have weekly news and polls? No, definitely not. There just simply isn't enough that changes with this game in a week. However, monthly or seasonal news with a poll would certainly do the job.

Before I add anything, I'd like to preface and say that I joined a year after general's removal, so I don't think I can give a really accurate input on the whole "does the game need it or just want it really badly" debate. But I will say that we shouldn't level this at the staff, as Kerriki said they have also been pushing for it.

Instead, let's direct them to Raz. Because at the end of the day, he makes the final decision, and he's the only one who has the answers to all our questions (even if he doesn't want to answer them).

And if we get ignored, well, actions certainly do speak volumes, and we may just have to finally let the discussion die.

Game Help / FH deleting exported presets

I finished my preset and exported it, then reloaded the game in the opposite rendering system because the screenshots were coming out cropped funky. When I loaded back up, the exported file for my own preset had been deleted.

#1: I do have preset sync, but did not upload this preset.
#2: It's been doing this with other presets I manually downloaded to see my friends because their presets aren't on sync.

Any potential explanations and/or solutions?

UPDATE!



He's finished! I haven't decided if I'll keep him yet, so for now consider him an OTA in the range of 500 points. Now, onto the features!

  • env_map spherical layered underneath textures to create the look of sparkling/crystalline fur, eyes, mane and teeth
  • Borrowed code from here to apply env_map spherical to the mane
  • One-sided but i promise so much love went into this

Again, if you want to look at the final code I used, it's a little messy but I'd be happy to send it to you. ^^

Hello! That's done by retexturing objects in Object Maker.  Open up an object's material file, make a new section with a new name (ie if it were Rock5, rename it to CustomRock), and name the texture to be whichever terrain texture you want it to be. Then go into Object Maker, and assign it that material (CustomRock).
