Stories / The Forbidden Lands Chapter 5: Snow White Queen
« on: July 19, 2013, 07:14:27 pm »
          Myria stalked through the woods. "So far today I've gotten stuck in a thorn patch, got my fur all matted with burs,

wedged a thorn in my paw, and it's not even daylight!" She snarled. "I'll kill Eli if it's the last thing I do!"

She was walking with a hard limp. "Stupid thorn. Stupid Eli. Stupid Kyle." She stopped. "Kyle's fault this all happened."

Myria continued walking. "I killed the deputy. I can kill again."

            The trees were bare and had no leaves. It was the middle of summer. Why was it so cold and bare? Myria

turned her head. The river was frozen! She broke into a run. Where was she? In the middle of winter!? She screeched

to a stop and snow pelted her face. Myria looked up. Snow rained down from the cloudless sky. "What is this?" She

wondered aloud.

             Suddenly a white wolf tackled her and she yelped, shoving the wolf off. "What was that for?" Myria asked

shaking the snow off.

            The wolf snarled at her. "Get off of my land!" The wolf growled.

            "No!" Myria replied. "I'm here looking for a friend of mine that was kidnapped and the wolf who I think took her."

            "I know who took her." The white wolf said. "Eli, the darkest wolf in the forest."

            Myria's fur stood on end. "I knew it! Where did he go?"

            The white wolf's face fell. "Eli has the largest pack of wolves. His own underground wolf army. They stay in the

tunnels. Eli is the only one who comes out. He joins a pack, gains they're trust, kills they're leader and the leader then

joins his army. His entire army is dead wolves.  They only know how to kill. Anyone who goes down there, never comes

back. I'm afraid he's killed your friend. She's now a part of his army. A killer."

            "Oh, God no." Her eyes were distant. "Kyle knew he should check the tunnels and I let him go down there!

He's not even a wolf! We should never have even split up!"

            She looked at Myria. "Go find your friend if you wish. But both of them are dead."

             "What does the army do?"

             " The tunnels stretch across the U.S. The wolves create passages and wear out the ground and make them

collapse. Sometimes at camps were other packs are, taking out the entire pack. Eli joins a pack, you see, kills the leader

then takes out the whole pack. You don't have much time left."

             Myria took off running toward where she left Kyle. "Tick-Tock!" The wolf called after her.

              The wolf waited until Myria was out of sight. "Times up."

Stories / The Forbidden Lands Chapter 4: Screaming and Bleeding
« on: July 19, 2013, 05:36:20 pm »
            Hayden sat and watched Meg carefully. She thumped her tail, watching him back. They were silent. Meg tried to

concentrate on him to get her mind off the foul, decaying smell of rotting flesh. She sneezed and put her nose in her paws.

Not knowing exactly what to say, they just said nothing. Come on. Thought Meg. There has to be something to talk about.

Meg noticed he had a black ear and paw. She stared at his gray eyes. What to say, what to say. She thought about her

dream. Hayden looked down. Meg had been home for the first time in a while. But, she didn't want to leave because of

Hayden. "So, why are you here?" Hayden asked.

             Meg looked up in surprise. "Eli." She croaked.

             Hayden nodded. "Eli is tricky. Be careful of him.Be...... aware."

             Meg was about to say something when an earsplitting howl rang out. Wolves started snarling and growling.

She peeked around Hayden, who was turned, and saw millions of wolves rushing toward the entrance. "This place

is very different than my pack. Females can't fight. But, my best friend Myria is an assassin." Meg commented as

several females ran by.

              "That's sad. Females  are our greatest weapon next to Eli." Hayden replied.

              "Hayden, intruders!" Eli snarled, stopping as he ran by.

              Hayden whined. "Stay here." He ordered and ran out.

              Meg rolled her eyes. "No such luck." She muttered running out after him.

              The first thing that caught Megs eyes was Kyle. She heard thousands of wolves yelling at him. Eli pushed

through and narrowed his eyes at Kyle, whispered something in his ear then ordered something to his wolves.

Kyle! Meg rushed forward. He wasn't a wolf. Not good, not good! Meg thought. She heard him yelping.

Meg ran as fast as she could, her tail bleeding again. "No!" She howled, her voice drowned out by all the growling.

               But, by the time she got there, it was too late. All hatred rose up inside her and she let out a loud screech.

Her eyes fell on Eli who backed away. Her eyes were full of hate and venom. Meg pulled her lip back into snarl.

                "You have no idea what you just did" She growled, her voice low.

                Meg let out a loud growl as she lept at Eli. She wrapped her paws around his neck and sunk her teeth

into his neck. He yelped and stumbled back. Eli reared back and landed on his back.  Meg dug her teeth deeper.

               Eli struggled and squirmed. Meg dug her claws into the back of this neck. With a quick jerk of his neck,

he broke free and bit Megs leg. She growled loudly and Eli froze, staring into her eyes, his wide. Meg barked and

launched her face into his and sunk her teeth into his face. He didn't even have time to yelp. Meg got off of him and

licked the blood off her teeth and lips and looked around. All the wolves' faces were shocked and stunned. She ran out

of the tunnels- forever.

             Meg was curled up in a ball in her den pressed close to Myria. "Meg, get up." She heard her father's stern voice.

             She blinked her eyes open and stared at her father and the alpha. She couldn't see her father without seeing the

 alpha too.  It was dark. New Moon. "Megan, now!" Meg stood up and stretched. He sounded worried.

              Meg stalked over to her father and closed her eyes. She was happy nothing had ever happened, it was only a

dream. It had felt so real. "Why must you attack Kyle and his family?" She asked.

             "You know far too well about wolves and humans."

             "Kyles not a human, Father!" She said calmly.

             "No, but he belongs to them. Now, go back to bed, we'll discuss this later."

              Meg headed back into the den and flopped down. Myria looked at her. "What did the Alpha want?" She asked.

              Meg shrugged. "Guess he heard about me and Kyle. He said 'We'll discuss this later.'"

              "Eesh. Have fun." Myria said, laying her head back down.

              Meg tried to sleep but couldn't. It felt like someone was calling her name. Eli. Her ears and head shot up. It may

have only been a dream, but she was more alert now. "Megan! Oh, God I'm so sorry!" He wailed.

              Meg stuck her nose in the air. She would never trust him. She felt a paw prod her side. "Stop it!" She growled.

              "Stop what?" Myria moaned.

              "Just stay away from us, Eli!" Meg was more alert now. She'd heard that voice before. In her dream. Hayden!

               Meg started whining. "Shut, up, Meg! I'm tryin to sleep, here!" Myria snarled.

               Slowly, Meg settled. Okay. She told herself. It was just a dream. A bad one at that. She eventually dozed off.

                                                                        ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
               "Megan?" The voice was soft, yet anxious.
               Hayden. Had to be. Meg slowly blinked open her eyes. She was in one of the other tunnels. She didn't see Eli.
Only Hayden. Part of her wanted this to be a dream. The rest of her begged. it wasn't.
     "I will find out who did this and rip them to shreds!" Myria snarled, pacing.
      Kyle sat, watching her. "My- Myria, Uhh- Myria? J-just calm down. We'll find her!"
      "I will not rest until Meg is found!"
      Kyle still watched her. "Don't worry, Myria. She couldn't of gotten very far."
      Myria walked up to him and narrowed her eyes. "You may or may not be her boyfriend," She spat. "but she's still my
packmate and bestfriend, Kyle! And weather or not you think so, I can kill, I can hunt, and I can tear you to shreds, so
BACK OFF!"
       Kyle was taken by surprise. And, so was Myria. The last time she had spoken about killing, was when she killed
the pack deputy. She didn't apologize. "Myria, I know you're scared but, we'll find her. Now think. I s there anyone else
in the pack that's missing?" Kyle said.
      Myria thought, then it hit her: Eli.
     "Who's this?" Snarled a black female with white streaks.
     "It's okay, Rockquel. She's a..... friend, should I say." Eli replied.
      Rockquel sneered and turned away. Meg could hardly believe how big the tunnels were in the middle. She didn't look
at anyone. Meg stayed silent and held her breath. It smelled musky and rotted. Like a bunch of dead, decaying, wolves.
The smell burned her nostrils. Who died and what did they do with the body? Meg wondered. The smell of rotting flesh
drowned out the smell of the hundred-year-old tunnels. They were filled with many battle-scarred wolves. All the wolves
scurried in and out of several tunnels that separated them. Meg was exhausted. All the walking. Her tail was still
bleeding.
 Calm down. She told herself. You'll bleed out at this rate. She heard
sniffing at her bleeding tail and whipped around to see a small dark brown wolf. "I'm Hayden. Sorry to be so nosy."
He said and Meg shrugged. "With a wound like that, I'm surprised you're not already dead." He glanced at Eli as if he
knew Eli did that.
      Hayden was right. Meg was starting to feel too weak to stand. She collapsed to
her knees. "Meg!" Eli gasped, rushing toward her.
      Hayden stepped in front of him. "You've done enough, Eli." He snarled, glancing at Meg, who was on her side trying
to stay alive with the little air she could breathe in with the heat.
     Hayden walked over to her and tapped her muzzle with his. Meg's last thoughts were Hayden.
