Thanks SO much for replying so quickly! Unfortunately, I tried your method and it didn't work for me. This is because the files I am trying to make appear in the Map Maker are just .fho files, so there is no way for me to obtain the textures separately as far as I know. They also came as part of a map I downloaded rather than an item pack. Examples of some of these files include Buildings.fho, FastFoods.fho and SetOfWalls.fho. When I try adding them to folders like my_objects or Miscellaneous they just don't appear on the list of other objects like Structure1, and every time I try to export the file by typing its name and group in the Object Maker I get an error message saying it failed to export from that group.

Game Help / Regarding the Map Maker
« on: September 14, 2013, 03:57:54 pm »
Hello. I wonder if anyone can help me with something regarding the Map Maker?

Basically, I would like to know how to get objects from maps which you have previously downloaded to appear in the Map Maker so that you can use them yourself. All of the maps I have at the moment are public, so I assume I have permission to use the objects from these maps for my own maps. So far I have managed to get a texture from a downloaded map to appear in the Map Maker, but I'm not sure where I'm supposed to place the .fho files in order for them to appear as objects for use in the Map Maker. Does the Map Maker only accept certain file extensions? One of the files I am trying to make appear is named "AudioSystem.fho", from a disco-themed map that I downloaded a couple of months ago. I have tried putting the file in the "my_objects" and "Miscellaneous" folders respectively, closing my file manager and re-opening the Map Maker to see if it made any difference, which of course it didn't. I also checked the Map Maker section in the Manual on the website but could not find an answer. I am using a computer with Windows 7, if that's of any relevance.

Thank you for reading, and if you know how to fix this then please let me know as soon as possible. Also, is there a thread/page where I can learn in detail about the more technical side of FeralHeart, to make things easier in the future? I am a self-confessed computer geek and I am familiar with quite a bit of FeralHeart's technical side, but as I have only been playing this game for under a year I still have a lot to learn and would like to know more.

Game Help / Re: Downloading converted meshes

I apologise for double posting. I just saw that several other new threads had already received replies, whereas mine hadn't; I was simply worried that my question wouldn't be seen once it came off the front page yesterday. I will heed your advice.

Thank you for your reply. Unfortunately, it doesn't answer my question. Maybe I wasn't clear enough when writing my first post, but I already did that and it doesn't seem to have done anything. I'm actually a little unsure as to what they are. I assumed these were characters that you could play in-game, like presets, but maybe they're just models for use in the map maker...

Anyway, the thing I'm confused about is adding coding to my object files. Like I said, every other tutorial I've looked at for downloading meshes doesn't involve that.

Game Help / Downloading converted meshes

I'm confused about downloading some meshes I found. I'm still a bit of a newbie at this game, so I've never downloaded meshes before. I'm fine with maps and items, I was just a still confused about where to put the files for these.

I found some converted Spyro and Cynder meshes in this topic. Once I downloaded them and unzipped the files, I looked at the ReadMe and it told me to move the files over to 'my_objects' and add some coding to one of my object files. I don't understand how I can add coding to my object files, and other mesh downloading tutorials I've looked at have said to put the files in different places.

Could someone please tell me what I should do? Is the method for downloading meshes the same every time, or is it different depending on the type of mesh?

Right, that explains it. Thanks! I shall enjoy rocking out in these! <3

These items are SO awesome! They are my dream FH items! <3 Unfortunately, I've put them on my character okay but when I met up with another user in-game they said they couldn't see them. Please, can anyone help?

Game Help / Flying Help?
« on: January 13, 2013, 11:00:01 am »
Hi there. Is anyone willing to lend a paw?

I know the basic controls for flyng in FH (E to open/close your wings, R to rise and F to fall), but I've seen people doing this trick where they do a 'loop-the-loop' in the air. As you know I am still new to this game and I thought it looked pretty cool, so I'd like to know how to do it. Is there a combination of keys that you press, or is it some sort of glitch?

Thanks,

Freya

Hi! My name is Onyx. I'm new to FeralHeart but I am an experienced roleplayer. I am very interested in joining your pack, so if it's okay with you I would like to sign up as a Warrior. I'd love to make some new friends and hopefully get help with finding my way around the maps.

I have already attempted to add you in-game (I am still onyx_fang) - just to clarify, this is an in-game and not a forum roleplay?

If you want me to write a sample paragraph then let me know and I will reply as soon as I can.

Merry Christmas! :D
