Game Help / Mac FH app not compatible with version of OSX?

I haven't seen anyone saying this exact problem, so I thought I'd ask.
I have Snow Leopard, OSX 10.5.8 (from what I read, should work)
But when I try to open the app it says that the app isn't going to work with my version of OSX.
Is there something I'm missing? I know I could update to 11.whatever'soutnow but I've heard that can and will make apps like Gimp stop working properly.
I don't want to go on a wild goose chase only to find out that that isn't my problem
