Game Discussion / Re: Anyone have bad memories of FH?
« on: April 08, 2014, 06:25:59 am »
I've only been directly harrassed once in FH.  They said some VERY homophobic/transphobic things.  I quit FH for like 2 months because they took all the fun out of it for me.  I'm over it now though, glad I'm back.

huh, not sure if it counts but I've heard some very offensive jokes which kind of killed the mood for me.

other than that, it's been fun.

Whoa, whoa, whoa.  Slow down everyone.  This is your friendly neighborhood transgender person speaking.

The third option is for nonbinary people, or "genderqueer" people.  People who don't identify as either.  It's not for your everyday transgender person.

A transgender person is someone who was essentially "born in the wrong body."  I'm a man that was born female.

Please don't call us "aliens."  That's pretty offensive, but I'm sure you didn't mean it that way.  Just be careful what you say in the future.

I'm open to questions about this topic, if you feel comfortable asking!

Oh, you can change the size in mapmaker?  Wow, all this time I have been trying to resize the map by resizing the heightmap, I wonder how I overlooked that?  better go find it haha

here I go trying to make everything more complicated than it is again.  thanks you guys!!

Game Help / Heightmap scale question [resolved]
« on: December 31, 2013, 09:34:20 am »
Hey guys!  I'm sorry if this has been asked before but I'm pretty confused.

What exactly is the deal with heightmaps and masks?  I know that the standard size is 513x513 but I just read a couple of tutorials that said maps could be larger.  Is this the case, because every time I try a larger size the game crashes??  Are there some special rules for heightmap sizes or am I just mistaken?

this is probably super simple but something went wrong somewhere and I seem to have missed it!

EDIT:  I don't have any trouble with the terrain mask I think there's something wrong with the heightmap specifically?  They are both 700x700 and 72ppi.  When I resized the heightmap to 513x513 it worked fine but for some reason anything other than that won't?

Game Discussion / Re: Patterns Within Characters
« on: December 27, 2013, 07:39:54 pm »
Oh this is interesting!

I definitely have some patterns that I follow:

- I have only canine characters with one exception.
- Noses are always pretty dark (usually pure black, I have a texture applied to all canines ingame so i can't really see the noses anyway)
- My characters are always pretty realistic
- Markings are always the darkest, then Pelt, then underfur.
- I like to use the Blind eyes for many characters because they just look nice in my opinion, I only have one character that can't see very well
- No wings, only manes if the target species has them in real life
- I usually make below the eyes darker, I play a lot of sickly/malnourished/tired characters and that kind of has that effect
- I like the Tailless option on canines but if they're tailless I always add Rump Tufts just for somethin' back there you know
- I like to stay away from stripes and spots except on like hyenas and stuff

thanks man!  I'm glad you like it and I appreciate the comment.

Ah good I was going for simplistic; using only default objects and such to make it easier on players' operating systems.  I figured it would be a good alternative to Fluorite Plains; that map is really laggy for some people.

Work In Progress Maps & Map Discussion / Kudu Plains
« on: December 26, 2013, 08:34:19 am »
This is my first map that I'm sharing, so it's a little lame but I had fun so it's alright

I'm planning on releasing it publicly soonish once I figure out some stuff, so sorry there's no download right now but there will be eventually.

But yeah enough of that here are some pictures!

Game Discussion / Re: Best Computer?

I have an Asus, it's about a year old and it works great!  it runs windows 7.  I don't have a whole lot of mods and whatnot but FH runs really well on it.

Mine's not designed for gameplay so it heats up if I play games for a couple of hours but other than that I can't complain.
