Game Help / where is everybody? also, failed to connect to server only in a few maps.

when i checked the site, it said 20 users active, does that include the forum now because there is absolutely no one online ;-; unless they're in private maps? I've ran around all over, and its barren ..
Also, in seaside grove and eastern pass, i get "failed to connect to map server. retry?" every time, is this something everyone else is experiencing?

; I have some mods that I think may have interfered but idk if there is anything i can do besides uninstalling them ?
