Game Help / Change music in maps made by OTHER people
« on: August 10, 2015, 05:22:52 am »
So I am in this one group with their own map and music. HOWEVER, I wish to NOT have the music they have. However, I did the thing where you replace the other file for the specific group with a new one but...
I want to add more that one to a map when they only had one assigned to each...

Is there a way to add more to the soundtrack or am I stuck with one song for each map because that's how they did it?

p.s.

I went into the music.cfg file and tried adding music THAT way too (nada)
Placed files in both music AND sounds after doing above (nada)

note: The replace worked, but I want more than one song ;n; so keep that in mind.

Game Help / Maps right? Portals and Gates this time -n-
« on: August 04, 2015, 09:09:37 am »
With everything else resolved...sort of, hopefully this will be my last pestion. B|

So. I made four maps, one of them the main one, and three side ones that connect to the main.

Their names were:
Golden Valley (main)
The Beyond
Heated Springs
Unevar Camp

with one I am to make later on called The Gorge, but I won't be mentioning this unless I need to as it is not started nor even done.

Well. All the maps are fully formed and ready to go, at one point when I started connecting them everything was working, well...just with Unevar Camp and, at one point, the Beyond.

However...Once I placed Heated Springs everything went weird.

I was testing them when I noticed that I had to additional portals in the Cape when there were only suppose to be two, a map for a group I'm in and Golden Valley, the main map I've made.

The two new ones were...Heated Springs and The Beyond? Weird right? What was worse is that when I did, in fact, check to see if the Map>Has Portal thing was cleared and NOT checked with both of the offending creations and they weren't.

After playing around with that I found out that another gate was messed up and when I attempted to fix that the entire portal to Golden Valley was gone and the Beyond and Heated Springs were both STILL there.

For an hour I went BACK and FORTH trying to figure this bull out and nothing worked.

Inevitable I looked up how to delete gates and get rid of portals and removed all the gates connecting the maps to redo them later and went to go check and see if those maps were in the Cape, beyond the Group Map, and could you guess what?

Those pesky two maps were still. Freaking. There.

For five hours I feel like I've been wasting my time, and two of that were spent figuring out the gates and portals, come to find out it was for NOTHING.

And now I can't get rid of those portals in from the cape, and from the inside, there is no way out.

And for the record, Yes I know how to use gates. Gate's aren't the problem I do not believe.
I just need help removing these portals now without damaging the Maps themselves so I can reuse them later once I figure out what's triggering all this nonsense.

#4:00 am and barely any progress.

Game Help / Map Making: How do I get OUT of my created map?
« on: August 04, 2015, 12:32:03 am »
Yis. It's me again.
Obviously I have progressed in my making, figuring out my problem was not adding "Terrain" onto my map name.
Seriously. That easy.

So I made literally everything now and I've even connected it to the Cape of Distant Worlds! Yay!

...

Not yay.
Because when I went in as one of my characters I turned around and saw...!

No portal.
How do I get out?

Is there a way to...fix this?

Alright. I've fixed the map and deleted that pesky layer thing, as this time, yes, it had it.
Followed all the previous steps and...

Crashed again.
Any other ideas?

Alright I've looked at the Alpha Channel thing and it appears to not be there already as it is unclickable meaning I do not have it on.

HOWEVER as someone mentioned I guessed I mistyped putting in the size as it does appear that my map's size is 513 by 413 aha. I didn't even realize. I'll try this out once I add onto the new area and get back to this if it doesn't work.

Game Help / Height Map Triggering My Game to Crash?
« on: August 03, 2015, 05:24:09 am »
So recently I was trying to make my first Height Map and followed all the steps to make my first one not crap.

So, I did as I was told and had the dimensions 513 by 513 pixels, named it something without spaces and without any form of capitalization, it had no layers, was grey-scale set, and exported as a png in the Terrain's folder.

I did this three times with all the right things, but different file names and every time FH crashed immediately.
After researching a tad bit I found that deleting and re-downloading Feral-Heart as a whole usually solves the problem...
So I did...had to download all my old crap again like mass markings and Legendary Items, and ONE map I needed for a group I'm in.

Afte rI checked my characters working ability and found everything in working order...I turned to the task I was up to a hour before. The testing of the cursed map.

And surprise surprise, as the title of this thread seems, it still crashed on me to my frustration. Everything else I've read about says the exact same thing and I needed to list all the stuff above because I know someone will be like "well did you do (obvious thing here)" and it's a waste of both our times.

So if anyone has an answer to this predicament, please do tell, I'm getting mad with this now and I just want to make a stupid map xD

How....Do I place stuff?
Where does the stuff go?
