Game Help / FeralHeart/Wine Crashing Every. Time.
« on: August 06, 2015, 05:06:41 am »
So...

This problem has undoubtedly been posted about in the help section before, but it's surfaced again for me and it's making the game impossible to play without major issues. First of all, let me just roll over what happened:

I recently re-installed FeralHeart after previously not having enough room on my MacBook (and wanting to make some more space for AMVs/videos). So I open up FeralHeart and log into my account before I realise that I do not have neither the Legendary Items Pack nor the Aug 22 mass markings, which I need in order to see literally all of my characters.

After a while I installed both packs to my FeralHeart, going through the FHRoot file. I know I installed it correctly, because I've done it before on my PC and I saw my items/markings in-game, and it looked fine. However, when I logged in and actually started playing on my character, it repeatedly kept crashing. Non-stop, unavoidable, imminent: FeralHeart would always crash, regardless of what I tried to do to fix it.

I don't know what causes the crash, honestly; I get on the character I want to play, move the camera or the character, and a few seconds later everything freezes and it comes up with a Wine error. Sometimes, the map doesn't even load and the crash still occurs. Regardless of what I've tried to do that might fix it, it always crashes. I still don't know why, which is why I'm posting here.

There appears to be an error code (if it's not that, I really don't know what else to call it):

Code: [Select]
Unhandled exception: page fault on write access to 0x00000000 in 32-bit code (0x96e82f2e).

Other than that, I don't know what other information I could give you unless you specifically asked. I'm sorry if this isn't the first post that this has been dealt with in, but I couldn't seem to locate another one so I went ahead and posted this. Thank you so much if you could help me with this, as I can't play for the majority of the week unless I can fix this problem.

Also:
I don't think I'll be able to remove the item/marking pack (because I need those, to be honest), so any fix that does not involve doing so will be more appreciated.

Discussion Board / Re: What Song Best Fits You?
« on: June 23, 2015, 04:33:16 am »
I have a lot of songs that can describe me. And, of course, a lot of them are not happy. I'll try to throw in a happy one at the end.

Skulls by Bastille is probably the biggest one so far; to me, it symbolizes that I've only ever had one friend who was constantly there, as the others slowly left me. Coincidentally, she has also recently admitted to harboring a crush on me (it's mutual and we're both figuring out what to do about it). She has been my friend since we were very young, and I admit that I am very grateful for her constant companionship, as even though all my other friends have subsequently left me for various reasons, she was there.

In One Ear by Cage The Elephant is another. It's another big one, because personally, I am not the person that is approachable and unlike everyone else in my town (my family does not bow down to the mainstream roles of the town and are considered an alternative family). While every other person in my school dresses in a very popular way, I look like a low-key metalhead, especially with my hair dyed blue and very static wardrobe of black. This, of course, has lead to people teasing me and calling me a Satanist (I have literally said, out loud, that I am an atheist). And yet I still keep ignoring them, huh.

Staying Up by The Neighbourhood. Another song about my insomnia and recurring nightmares (which have proven to be the cause of my insomnia at times).

Miles To Go by Stateless. This isn't as big as In One Ear or Skulls, but it is very profound about my view of the world and my constant insomnia (which sometimes keeps me awake until 4 a.m. in the morning, every night).

Landfill by Daughter. Relates to a guy I liked a while ago. I hated him and liked him at the same time. It also applies to a lot of my friends in a platonic manner.

I Hope This Gets To You by The Daylights. Not as sad as it sounds, I promise. Basically how I feel towards the aforementioned friend of mine. I said I'd throw in a happy one!

Public restrooms. No. Just no. They're often filthy and that, coupled with the fact that anyone could walk in at any moment, creeps me out a lot. I think it's the subconscious thought that someone is listening to me in there... it has gotten to the point where I literally do not go anywhere near them during a school day and just hold it from 8:00 to 2:45. The filth is pretty bad on its own though.

Site/Forum Help / Re: Mac Dowload
« on: June 23, 2015, 03:50:01 am »
Sounds like you do need to update your Mac. You may also get more help with this if you put it in Game Help rather than Site Help.

As a Mac user myself, I remember having to update and make room for FeralHeart. If you can access your App Store, you should see "Updates" on the top bar; software updates to your computer should help greatly. So maybe uninstall FeralHeart, update your computer, and either download or torrent the Mac version of the game.

If that doesn't work, then could you please elaborate on your problems, please? Your short posts are a little vague on the issues to me, whoops. Sorry if this doesn't help your case.

Honestly, the most used persona for my characters is the cold and distrustful kind. They're typically emotionless and refuse facial expressions, actions, etc. and usually suck at body language... just because it's fun to roleplay them unraveling and just gradually becoming an overall nicer being.

I will admit, though, that I have a couple of characters that give off that sweet, innocent aura but when you really get down to it, something dark's on their mind about 80% of the time... *coughs* my warrior Koda.
