Game Help / Can't login - server possibly censored?

I have waited for weeks to sign up for Feral Heart and managed to create an account yesterday.
I managed to create a character with no problem, and logged in to an area with a sort of cave. But when I entered the cave a messaged popped up saying "Unable to connect to main server" (or something along those lines) and I was disconnected.
I have been unable to connect to the "front server" ever since.
Feral Heart is not blocked by my firewall, and I have exited all antivirus programs running on my computer. My internet connection is very fast so wireless speed should not be an issue.
I am wondering if perhaps this is due to me being in in China where a lot of websites are banned/blocked. This is the case with another game, "The Endless Forest" where I cannot play multiplayer without a VPN.
Is there a way to link Feral Heart with a VPN so that I can get pass the internet censorship here?
