The sun was setting, grass wavering in the wind, the scent of dusk seeping into Reggie's nostrils. He snorted, and set off toward the sound of the trickling river. The area near the gray road wasn't his favorite place, the exposure to everything making him almost fearful, the sound of speeding creatures along the path. But nothing made him too nervous nowadays, as you could look around the corner and viola, a bear's jaws propped open for your instant doom.
But he could hear it; a river of some kind. Or at least a running water supply. Reggie licked his stained chops with a dry, raspy tongue and thought of the clear, sweet taste of water. He ducked underneath some bushes and took in a whiff of the area around him. Something didn't feel right, but the nauseating smell of the gray road had weakened his senses. Reggie shoved his ears forward instead, but could only hear the sound of the water louder, and his own heartbeat. Maybe he was thirstier than he thought.
Reggie risked a look outside of his hiding place. A long silver stick was sticking out of the flattened ground, and a stream of water was pouring out. He darted out and tried to bite at the rush of salvation. He licked at the delicious substance and refreshed himself. trying to take in as much as possible. But something shook him. Something made him stop and glance before him to see the young creature before him. Reggie instantly bared his teeth and took a step back. Enough time near the path made him recognize the girl, and what damage even a pup such as this one could do.
She let out an imposing hand, and without thought, Reggie sunk his fangs into the skin. She yelped good and loud, and snatched it back. Reggie backed away slowly, letting a rumble escape his throat, but tail still tucked in fear. The girl held her hand, but Reggie couldn't see her anymore. He saw bright lights. He felt the smack against his shoulder. He dug up these memories without meaning to, the memories of his encounters with woman and man.
But he couldn't bear injuring this creature. As long as it stood there, he didn't care what it did, for he was too thirsty. Ears straining to the back of his head, Reggie inched forward to the pole in the ground and lapped at the water. The girl backed off, but dug her hand into her pelts and fished out a small black thing. She raised it up, and it flashed. Reggie yelped and leaped into the air, feeling the immense imaginary pain on his shoulder once again, and he high-tailed it to the forest nearby.
NOTE: Sorry, this post is a little long. I wasn't sure how much you wanted, but regular RP posts will be much shorter.
