Game Help / Re: Having Trouble Connecting to the Front Server
« on: March 01, 2016, 12:16:49 am »

I am thinking that may be the problem, although I haven't had any problem with other online games...
Other people in the dorm play them all the time.

The only way I can test it is if I go home, but that's not for a few weeks (spring break, eeee).

hhh...

Restarting the router is an impossible task for me, as I live a college dorm.
They provide the internet and are therefore in charge of the router.

I've turned off the proxy setting and it still isn't working. I tried re-downloading FH this morning as well, but to no avail. And unfortunately, because I live in a college dorm, I do not have access to another computer besides my own.

I am just confused...
FH has worked perfectly until the past few weeks.

Game Help / Having Trouble Connecting to the Front Server
« on: February 28, 2016, 11:05:34 pm »
Hello, all.
I'm hoping someone will be able to help me with this issue I've been having for the past several weeks.

My computer has recently been refusing to connect to FH, as every time I log in, I get "Cannot connect to front server" upon entering my username and password.

There is some additional information needed before helping me, though.

1. I know what the new login page is. I've used it since it was first created.
2. My internet is not the greatest. I share it with MANY people, but that has not stopped FH from running in the past, even with the login page. And my connection to this internet is always the highest it can be.
3. I do not minimize the tab for the login page. I keep it directly behind FH when I open up and I wait the recommended 30 - 60 seconds before starting up FH.
4. I have tried multiple internet browsers.
5. I have changed the rendering system for FH to see if that works.
6. I do NOT have any background processes on, such as streaming videos or downloading stuff.
7. I know FH is allowed through my firewall. I have checked this.

If anyone could please please please help me, I'd really appreciate it.
I'd hate for this to be the way I leave FH if nothing will fix this.

Game Discussion / Re: Poor Grammar.
« on: March 24, 2013, 12:59:35 am »
Most of the people who are considered to be illiterate can perfectly read good grammar; some just don't know how and/or choose not to use it out of laziness. Some people could also come from games such as WolfQuest or others that limit one's typing ability. Heck, I've even seen people make fun of illiteracy and purposely type poorly. I haven't come across too bad of people out there in the public maps lately, but that's probably because I prefer to stick to myself at times. I do know, however, that they're not stupid. Confused, perhaps.

Since I have a pretty high tolerance for most things, grammar doesn't really phase me unless it considers RP. I don't mind chatting. The people I've met who have "incomprehensible writing" are extremely nice and most likely nicer than some of the literate snobs I've seen on Feral-Heart.

The best you can do is to help the folks who would be willing to learn, if you have the patience. The couple I have taught greatly benefited from Muddy's School of Excellence. From the diminishing amounts of literate players on Feral-Heart (at least it seems like it), recruiting some students would increase the numbers. This is by no means a well-thought solution; however, I'd be willing to try it.

Trust me, I was at the bottom for a long time too, but setting the example sometimes really does help. I know when I first joined Feral-Heart, the literate people were my role-models and looked up to them.
