Game Discussion / Re: What's the animal you RP most as?
« on: December 15, 2013, 03:05:36 am »
It's a fairly even mix between canines, and ungulates with most of them having some sort of fantasy element to them. For example, my water deer doe, Shika, who has blue fur and is a psychopomp. There's also two favorite characters of mine who're mythological canines. I also like playing my sphinx. Though, to be honest, I've had difficulty finding rps on FH that my characters fit into.

I can understand being annoyed when someone copies what one did, but I wouldn't worry about it too much. Just as long as another doesn't go copying your character through and through. Just give a bit of an exasperated sigh, and move on.

On a side note, it's been awhile since I've heard the name Maizy. Quite a cute name you've picked out for your character there. ^_^

Game Discussion / Re: A guide to wolfspeak and why you shouldn't use it

Wait...so...so...Fae and Brute aren't real words used to describe female and male wolves? e-e

I've been lied to all these years.

S**t.

So then what are some real words used to say female and male wolf?

I want to become an author one day, I can't be using made up words!

I know this comment is a little old, but I believe the term for a male wolf is "dog", though you could use "wolf" I believe. The term for a female wolf begins with a "b", and is considered extremely rude. Thus, I shall err on the side of caution, and not type it out here. An equally valid term for a female wolf is "she-wolf". I did a quick Google search some time ago when I had the same question, and this is what repeatedly came up.

As for  my opinion on wolf-speak, the only problems I have with it is that it can be quite confusing. Though, to be fair one can use their noggin to find the connection between some wolf-speak terms (it's not too hard to figure out that "banner" is the term for "tail" for example), and one can use context clues as well. Still fairly confusing, though. For the longest time I was wondering why all of the she-wolves I ran into were fairy wolves, and all the dogs were non-fairies.

All and all, I believe I have more of a problem with those wolf-speakers who look down on those who do not use wolf speak.

Game Discussion / Re: The Halloween Party

I wasn't there for the whole thing, but I can give you a few tidbits.

The first big thing that happened was the costume contest. Red, and a few other admins decided on what presets qualified, had those people line up in order to get a few screenshots, and then posted them up on the forum for everyone to vote on. Some of the most impressive of the presets were among those who qualified. You can see them here: http://www.feral-heart.com/index.php?option=com_jfusion&Itemid=2&jfile=index.php&topic=40358.0

The next portion of the party was talking, dancing, and enjoying ourselves in general. Tunes were played from Red's livestream. Many people spent there time in the main party room, but I believe some also spent their time in the lounge. There was a bit of RP going on as well.

Then Suragaha had us line up for a game in which we had to crawl under everyone, one at a time, and see if we could get our line to reach a certain point. The original goal was to make a lap around the dance floor, but it was them decided that our goal should be the wall. A fairly simple game, but fun nonetheless.

After that, things began to wrap up, and the winners of the costume contest were announced.

I didn't make any friends at the party really, but that's due to me being the quiet type. It was a very enjoyable party!

Forum Discussion / Re: Male Or Female Characters?
« on: October 27, 2013, 11:23:40 pm »
It really doesn't matter to me whether the character is male or female so long as the said character is enjoyable to RP with. I honestly don't consciously decide whether a character is male or female when I initially create them. It just sort of falls into place. That being said there are exceptions every so often, such as my nyala bull, Jilani, who's gender was decided simply because I preferred male nyala's appearance over the female's. The former situation is what occurs most often, however.

Thank you all for the warm welcome. ^_^

@FoxPhilosopher: Yes, I'm always in the look out for fun things to do, and I end up trying quite a few MMOs. It's quite interesting to see the different communities as well as the individuals within them. Not to mention the games themselves.

Introduction / Hello There.
« on: October 26, 2013, 01:17:22 am »
Hello there. I'm go by JackieMac here on the FH forums or GameJester in game. I figured it would be polite to introduce myself before attending the Halloween party tomorrow evening.

I'm not new, nor am I an old player really. I originally stumbled upon FH some time before the wing update while I was looking for information on its predecessor, IT. I had meant to introduce myself then, but my timidness prevented me from doing so. I am quite timid in real life, as well as in game, and I'm more likely to be able to hold a conversation IC than OOC if I'm only just meeting someone. Unless, of course, you happen to touch upon a subject of interest to me. I'm not the best with small talk, though I'm getting better.

FH isn't the first animal based MMO I've played. Before this I had been playing The Endless Forest quite a bit. I also like to play on a few IT servers. They are Sanctum of Eventide, Dragon's Den, and Last Moon.

RP-wise I'm not a newbie, but I do not have much experience either. The last time I participated in a long term RP was back on Whirled several years ago, and most posts weren't quite as long as some of the ones I see in game. Despite this, I am able to write at least a three to four sentence RP post while RPing in game often enough, and I do not enjoy writing much more per post in game if it isn't necessary. I tend to enjoy fantasy RPs, and I tend to enjoy RPing as mythological and fantastic creatures the most. However, I do have a good amount of realistic animal characters as well.

Currently, I don't tend to do much other than people watch in game, as I haven't seen too many RPs I'd be interested in, and those I have participated in have died quickly. I have also made a few presets, and have messed with the map maker a bit. Customization is quite enjoyable to me.

Outside of these animal MMOs, I also enjoy video games, reading, drawing, collecting some things, and magic tricks.

I believe I've rambled enough. If you'd like to ask me any questions, please feel free to do so. I shall answer them as soon as I can.
