Same here. I hadn't played in a while and I wanted to see the updates, but it won't let me login. I thought the patch hadn't installed right, so I wiped the game from my computer, reinstalled with all new files, untouched, and it has the same problem still. :(

I really want to play again, but it stays in the constant loop of "Request Accepted... Sending login" :(
I've rebooted several times and everything else was switched off.

No, I didnt. It was in the middle of a forest somewhere where you couldnt break blocks

In case anyone is wondering, I am still reading this thread and hoping someone can give me an answer.
Yes or no, I just want an answer to if I can join or not. If i cant, that's ok, but I would just like to know I haven't been forgotten in all this, because most servers dont even answer my questions in-game. That's why I'm still looking for servers, and I asked about this one because you guys look like you know each other very well and listen to one another. :(

Yes, if you update your Minecraft to 1.8, the server must be 1.8 as well in order to join.

I think shadows have always glitched. Just put a torch down and take it right back. :P
Edit: 1.8 Cooked Chicken is Fantastic! xD
But Chickens are harder to find I think.. Sheep are all over the place tho.
