Game Help / Not Able To Play Feral-Heart Normally

Ever since I got an error saying there was a hard disk problem,I used 3 different programs for malware scans, scanned the hard disk for errors, and uninstalled some programs, nothing worked.
What happens is that when I click on the screen during a game the screen briefly flashes and after a few more clicks the game just closes immediately without a message or anything like that.
This also only happens to another game I play besides FH and I can't play that game at all since I have not found any way to get around the problem there, the only way I can play FH is by using fullscreen which I don't like as much since I usually tab out to do other things .
The last thing I want to do is reset my computer since its not my computer, its the computer for the family.
I need help with this problem ASAP.
