Files reproducing?

I'm running FH+ on a Mac, and I've been able to get one twice, but both times I only get a few seconds of gameplay before it freezes. While I'm playing, the folder recreates the files config.good and ogre.cfg on my desktop, causing the game to crash. I know I need to delete them, but is there no way to stop them from being remade?

EDIT: Well it's running a little better for now, but I now am unable to go into Ficho Caverns. I try to enter the black warp, and when I go in after a few moments of loading it simply says 'Cannot access map' or something to that effect.

Uninstall FH and delete all FH related files. (Save any maps or presets though)
Re-download and reinstall FH.
See if it works then.

Tried that, the files all seem to be doing the right thing and the game is running a bit better, but the problem with the portal remains. :/
