Major Graphics Issue... Can anyone help?
« on: January 27, 2012, 07:52:48 am »
So I have a major graphics issue, as the title would tell you. Well, "major" being a bit strong, but none the less. Anyway. So as you can see from the screenshot, I have this layer of black or white around the tree leaves and such and such. I actually just learned this recently when I was showing someone some beta shots of a mod pack I was working on as they were wondering if the pack would make their graphics look that way. So I've had this issue for over a year now, apparently, when I first downloaded FH. I have never had anything other than this. Is there any possible way for me to fix this? I have rarely messed around with the textures of plants, and even when I have it would not hold true forever, correct? Especially since I've only just started messing around with textures. When I open up the image file, so yes I go into my objects, trees, oakleaf, and open it,it does not show the black. So.... make what you will of it? I run the latest version of windows and have a newer PC, if that makes a difference in any way. Much thanks -Crin

If you've already tried the simple thing as in changing the rendering mode within the options menu, you need to install drivers for your graphics card if possible.

Doesn't seem like your computer likes to render transparency that much in this game, hence why you get those black/white outskirts of images.

Go into the start menu, and in the search field write "dxdiag" without the "" and hit enter. Once the new window is loaded, click the display tab and write what it says under "device" for me, or take a screenshot of it.

I really really dislike these onboard graphics chipset that intel uses. Not to be rude or anything but they are somewhat useless compared to a dedicated graphics card or the AMD/Nvidia ones since they put up proper drivers for them that's easy to find.

Intels chipset drivers are hard to get the correct one of, and sometimes it doesn't even help.

However, that didn't give us too much information as we could have hoped for. But, is it possible for you to give out the FULL name of your laptop? Not just something like Toshiba laptop with 12 inch screen. But the computers actual name like "Toshiba CKE 33"(just made that up).

The name might say on the back of the computer with some sticker, or on a user manual for the computer etc.
