Game crashes while typing.

So I installed the game yesterday, this happens often lately, im just typing and stuff and sudently the game just crashes, when I first downloaded it I didnt have so much trouble, but after a few crashes this "Ogre rendering engine setup" thing started to pop up before starting the game, some times it will crash right after opening, some times I can play for a while and crashes randomly, this is annoying because I cant have a decent roleplay.

I have a windows vista pc.

Try reinstalling the game. If it still doesn't work, delete the whole FH folder and install it after that.

If you crash when typing non English letters you're not alone. If you write any letter or symbol that is not on a standard english keyboard layout the game crashes instantly without any warnings, hopefully this will be sorted in a future patch. But the game shouldn't really crash if you just write into the chats, I'd give the very same advice as above in that case.

When it comes to the other crashes it seems related to the ingame settings you have, there's usually 2 rendering modes you can use for the game, Direct3D9 or OpenGL. What works the best depends on the computer you use, but Direct3D9 seems to be the most stable for the majority, but try around using both and see what works the best.

You can set the rendering mode from within the options menu/video tab in the start menu, then restart the game. Or if the game doesn't boot up at all, you can enter C:\FeralHeart, locate the file called Ogre.cfg and open it with wordpad and change the top row that decides the rendering mode, save and exit.

But in general, if you wipe out the folder C:\FeralHeart and then install it again it should work as it used to.

Thanks Red, that actually makes sence, not like most of people that just tells you to reinstall the game hehe, I think thats something everyone does by common sence.
