Chapter 1
"No fair!" Yipped Mirror,
who in turn ran hastily after her speedy new playmate, Chaoz. (Pronounced like Chaos) "You got a head-start!" The two young wolves had been chasing each other around Ficho Tunnel until they had decided to go to their favorite play spot, the main Pool. There, they'd practice balancing themselves on the crystal that floated amongst the water and see who could stay on the longest. Usually, Mirror would win. She was very thin, as most of the few wolves who dared to dwell in Ficho were. Mirror was born into a small family group of canines, and she was an unusual pup because she was very obediant. Her coat was a dark amber that seemed to glow in the dim light, and her eyes were a deep violet that could catch the attention of all. Mirror was a sight to behold as a pup, and everyone thought that she'd always be.
They were Wrong
One chilly evening, Chaoz and Mirror went to their usual play spot, the main Pool. Chaoz balanced himself nervously onto the gleaming crystal. He held there shakily for a few seconds before tumbling to the water below. Mirror giggled abit, and watched as the dark heavy-set male emerged from the cool water dripping wet. "You win, as always." He replied with a smirk. "Well, we shouldn't declare the winner just yet." Replied Mirror, slipping into the cool water and scrambling up onto the Crystal. She held there watching Chaoz for a while, before she heard a crackling sound. The rcracking grew louder, and suddenly the crystal gave way beneath her. The aura of the crystal seemed to consume Mirror, making it hard for her senses to work. She yelped out for Chaoz, but nothing came out of her mouth.
She couldn't see, nor smell or hear. She could feel the magic swirl around her for a while, before everything dissapeared, as well as her alertness. The aura dissapeared as quickly as it had come, and she found her paw pads in the cool water she was ever so familiar with. Chaoz sat there, his mouth gaping. "Your....Your..." "What?" Mirror asked, looking around. "Look in the water." Chaoz replied. Mirror looked down at the reflection of herself in the water, only it didn't look like her. Her pelt was pure black, her eyes were neon pink, as well as her tail tip and mane, her underfur was pure white, and her markings were neon green. The neon green and pink seemed to light up the whole room. A few wolves, including an elderly wolf in the tunnels, murmured a few words. "Fate of Ficho!" Yelled the elderly wolf, who Mirror presumed was a female. "What?" Asked Mirror. "You're the one from the prophecy. The one Ficho has been waiting for since the time of the Shadow Wolves."
