Looking for certain topic

Ive been looking all over the site and Google for this topic.I was looking for a topic on how to make maps using google earth and gimp or photoshop.I've seen the topic before but i can't find it so if someone knows the link to it please post it here i really need it.

this link only takes me to the topic of making maps using only gimp.The topic i was saying used google earth to make maps.

I dont think you can make maps with Google Earth.
Will be inactive due to work and exams.

It was something like you copy an image of an island or something then change the image to black-white colors depending on the height and then resize it.
