All you have to do to make a party is double click on the person or persons you want to talk to and click the "party" option to join in a party chat with them. :) Hope that helps.

Double click the person's name in the chat [It doesn't matter which chat], and then click the party invite. The request gets sent to the user and they have the choice to accept the request or reject. If they accept then in a yellow colored chat it will say:

[User's character name] has joined the party.
