How to get to Ascention Island?

If your trying to get to Sky's Rim is what you mean, then read the tutorial Ingredient has posted.
However, if you're trying to get to Ascension Island, then you have to jump up the platforms in the Lonely Cave (where you start off) to get to the portal at the very top.
I've delt with someone (whilst playing the game) where they keep on falling of the platforms whilst getting to Ascension but it's more of a glitch, not them accidently doing it.
That might be the case.

I took a look at the tutorial and i guess it doesn't help much.

What i do is go into F3 mode and hover the camera above a rock, so i'm looking down on it. I will click where i want the character to go and as it is just about to run off the edge, i press Space. Don't worry about it falling off the ledge, your character will land exactly where you clicked, as long as you jump at the right time

Ok here are my tips:
Once you get to Ascension you can try using a large character up until you reach the ring platforms. I find it easier to get through the ring platforms with a tiny character since it gives you more room to move on the already skinny surface of the rings and less body mass to worry about falling over the edge.
If you want to cheat you can also just keep setting each platform as your home as you get further up. This way if you fall you can just hit home again and be respawned where you last were before you fell.

The ascenson Island/Sky's Rim (applies to the two of 'em) if you find it difficult, save your home at each plateform.

Long ago, One of my friends told me to go to Home. Then you 'Set it' Because you dont have to restart all over again. So ya you need to go to Home then click Set it. And you done!
