fhp.files
« on: December 18, 2012, 09:07:39 pm »
I've never had any trouble downloadin' maps and presets and stuff, but I now realise that's just because they've all been rar.files.
When I download a rar.file, my computer immediatley opens B1.free.archiver and I do all the extracting and it works.
However, when I get an fhp.file, it won't download, and Adobe.reader popz up sayin' it won't show the downloads basically.
SO, mer questoon is: what program can open an fhp.file?
~Thanx (oh and sorry if this problem has already been answered somewhere)

The fhp files are not to be opened in any software, they're simply meant to be moved into C:>FeralHeart>Presets
RETIRED.

The .fhp files are exported preset files by the way, they allow you to see another person's preset without downloading all the images :) Just like exported map files, they can't be opened.
Will be inactive due to work and exams.

I think i see the problem. It says that adobe reader could not open the .FHP fle but your supposed to save it,not open it. Try saving the file.

I tried pressing save, and it pops up in mer downloads file like this:

I then after that, I pressed save-to-folder and a NEW file popz up in the downloads file:

Its the same, but has a 1 next to it.
So, I'm not quite sure which one to move to presets :/
I'm guessing thats what you do.....

Try moving the first one without the "(1)" at the end, to C:>FeralHeart>presets. Delete the one with the "(1)" on it.

*wink wink*

?  There's this little thing called love ?

I'm guessing thats what you do.....

The one that says 8 (1) beside it just means that it's a double of the same file. You probably downloaded and saved the file twice and so you have the extra one with the (1) at the end. As Kiri said just delete that one and keep the one that just has the 8.
Now from the picture I see that you have changed the file type probably when you were trying to open it because it now has an adobe reader icon on it... that's why you're getting that error message. Do not try to open the file you just copy and paste that file into your "presets" folder.
If the problem continues and you can't get the fhp file to work in game with whoever's preset you're trying to see you can give me the link to this download and I can check it out myself.

On the other hand you can also try changing the program type that opens up the file. Although I emphasize as the others said also you shouldn't be trying to open an fhp file. It's possible that your computer settings for those file types automatically switches to reading them with Adobe Reader. I had some trouble a while back with a certain individuals fhp file not working just because the program that opens it was the wrong type. Not sure if it would help you too but this is what it looks like normally:

Thanx for the help everyone 8)
Yeah, I've deleted the file with the "1" beside it and moved the proper one to Presets.
I'll just have to wait for my friend to come back on with their preset char, and then we'll see if I can see it :)
