FH crashes
« on: May 12, 2013, 11:21:55 am »
It say "FH stopped working" and close down. How should I know what's the problem if I can't even see the main page?

Have you exported any maps lately?
If yes then go into FH-media-particles folder and search for any double particles. They will have _0 or _1 etc at the end of them. Delete these.
If you found from there then you might want to look at sky folder.
Hope this helps!

That happened to me recently when I installed FH in my grandfather's computer because I forgot to install Direct3D.
You can try the suggestion above, but if you still experience this problem it's better to reinstall FeralHeart (make sure you backup your files like mods, presets, etc.), but you need to delete the entire folder who is in Local Disk C: and a folder called FeralHeart.

In-game name as: Whinp

I deleted everything related to this and even removed things that could lower the game. It still doesn't work.

Yea. I think I'll have to reinstall everything.

So no more doubled particles?
Did you check sky folder?
Maybe also check FH-media-objects-my_objects
Sometimes some files are also doubled in there _0 and _1 make sure u delete all with those _...
But ofcorse you can always re-download fh.

No more double now, but reinstalling everything would take a lot. I'll have to re-add all of my mods and other things. -_-'

Why does it doubles?

Arr, before you reinstall--
Go into your FeralHeart folder, and open the ogre.cfg file with Notepad. In there, if the very first line says Render System=OpenGL Rendering Subsystem, then change the OpenGL part to Direct3D9.

This will change how your game renders, and may keep it from crashing so much.
You may also want to try removing any extra maps (.fhm files) from your Exports, to see if that lessens the weight on your computer when it loads FH.
As for your question about particles, it's a glitch in the game that occurs whenever a map is exported. We're unsure as to why, but if you do export maps in the future, go ahead and open your Particles folder and check for any of these 'double files'. It certainly saves some confusion. (This wasn't your problem, though, I don't believe).

But anyway, try the rendering system thing I explained for you. If that doesn't work for you, then save all of your mods/etc. in another folder, and then uninstall/reinstall FH. You can re-add your mods/etc. once it's been reinstalled.

I tried everything and it didn't worked, so I reinstalled and now the game works.
