Double Particle Question

I know that sometimes particles get doubled without permission of the gamer... But hey, how this happen?

Sometimes a message comes up asking you if you want to replace a previous file. In this case, your particles. Some computers don't recognize other files that are the same because only one little thing that maybe different to the other. Which means it will just make a duplicate. If you understand what I'm attempting to explain here? xD
