Mesh Making? Please Reply!

Okay, so I'm a mapmaker. I was thinking of making lots of maps with custom objects, and the only problem with that, is I don't have anyone to make the objects for me, for free, or in time.

So, I came to the conclusion I'd like to learn how to make my own objects. And in order to become a successful mapmaker, I'd probably have to learn this sooner or later anyway. I am totally new to object making, let alone mesh making, so I'd like some help.
I've searched all over google for a mesh making tutorial, but I've had no luck. Please someone help me make meshes?

Of course, not all of the things in the list are on mesh making so you'll have to look under the right section. Hope you'll find a tutorial that will help you~
